You do realize the Switch 2 in just after a year has more exclusives than the shitty, ill-fated PS5 has in almost 6 years, right? The price is NOT steep by 2026 standards. It's the best value in the industry right now. And on what planet were you expecting to get one for $300 less (which is what you wrote) or even $300? Have you not paid attention at all to the RAMCopalypse? 🤣
More exclusives is true. Quality exclusives is subjective to individual tastes. I have little interest in DK Bananza and no interest in the others. The new Metroid just announced looks good but isn't out yet. The Zelda remake looks entertaining but I've beaten that game dozens of times. It will be incredible to get a new vision of it but it's not worth $500 to play one just okay DK game and one remake. If someone never owned a Switch 1, the switch 2 is absolutely the best value in gaming. The entire switch 1 and 2 library plus switch online goodies. The other argument being made is portability. I don't live somewhere with reliable public transit and I don't fly much so in owning a Switch 1 since day one in 2017 I've played handheld maybe 12 hours. So being the underpowered handheld console doesn't make me any more interested in a Switch 2 over other options. And finally the price. I understand they won't sell it for $300. But bc of all the economic woes I don't want to spend $500 on a console that plays two unique games I'm interested in. If it were half the price, of course I'm in. But they did the analyses and realized plenty of people will fork over any amount of money for the new Nintendo console.

I was going to link the one I saw the other day which was this price for the pro controller 2 + switch 2, but it's no longer this price. I would snatch this up if you want a Switch 2 before they fix the pricing.

Wouldn't it make more sense to buy a PS5 at this price point?
No ps5 is the most rip off at this point. Basically switch has physical games that holds value, xbox has gp, disc to digital and free pc copy for future proofing. Your physical ps5 purchase will be obsolete next gen for sure

Patience will be rewarded. Eventually a similar bundle will be $250-300 on a Black Friday in the future.

I still have a sizeable backlog on Switch 1 and PS5 and PC. I'm good.

Damn, this deal is decent enough that it makes my wait for the Zelda version excruciating.

Except for all of the ps5 and ps4 games out right now lol. You don't have to get rid of your ps5 when the ps6 comes out lol

Well not if you are someone who wants physical games and for that rug to not to get pulled out from under you about ~16 months from now.
You know there's a shit ton of ps4 and 5 games out right now that will still work on your ps5 when the ps6 comes out right lol you don't have to get rid of your ps5

We went from Wii U to Switch 2, it's been great, but insane that so many of the Wii and Wii U games just got ported up.

Nope. PS5 is not a good investment right now. More expensive than at launch, 7 years old hardware, and PS6 is just around the corner. Plus, PS5 isn't portable at all and won't play Nintendo games.

I agree the price is steep. When they announced it was coming out I was fully ready to drop $300 maybe even $350 on it. When it was priced at $450 I knew they were going to leave me behind and still sell millions of these. Now it's been out awhile and the only exclusive I'm interested in is OoT and there's enough other games coming out that it will be shelved even if I had a Switch 2. I'll wait for some upgraded version in a year or two.
Or check the used market. They land there at $300-350 all the time.
