Same price buying much superior and efficient 270k (when on sale) and z890 mobo at $170 is plentiful . There isn't anyone is recommended this for unless you are a super avid OC.

Yep... If you're near a Microcenter their $599 270K+, 32GB DDR5, and mobo combos are impossible to beat.

I'm using a different (mATX) board and even then it's still hard to beat because it's hard to find that amount/speed of ram for under $400 these days.

Just as bad as the recently posted 14900 for $414. 270K Plus runs circles around this SKU, and low as $200. Have fun paying an extra $170 for less performance just to use DDR4. Take a trip, 270K Plus bundle is $600 at MC, or even the 250K Plus bundle for $500, though not as great a deal.

Umm.. you're right. It's substantially better. + 20% single, +50%++ multi all while using at least 20% less power

Was this really ever $750? And even if it was, does it really make sense to compare this "sale" price to the highest possible price it ever was or the median price that it has been recently. Plus why not go to the 13900K or 14900K instead of this processor?
I know there has been past reports of degradation on the 13 and 14th gen Intel CPUs but that was fixed as while back and the performance upgrade to the 13 and 14th gen is substantial for anyone with an older motherboard that is just considering upgrading an older alder lake CPU.
