Their 40v brushless struggles with 20" blade A LOT overheating batteries. There is no way it can do 25" any better. 16" is probably the best GW I've ever had as of power delivery, before making a mistake upgrading to 20". You need to go to 60v or 80v for 20"+

Is the 20" blade a duel battery? Looks like this one can accept both batteries at once, which should meaningfully reduce the amperage. Also this is a duel blade, not a singular 25" blade so that should not be as much draw.

IMO, the 21" has been rock solid (that is what I have used for a few years now, ~.5 acres). I started with a set of 4ah batteries, and it had no issues. I now use 8ah batteries, and can do the whole thing with pretty much one battery.
If you are using smaller than 4ah, that might be part of the issue, but their 4ah or higher batteries can handle my 21" with no issues , and I suspect the 25" is just as good.

This isn't one big 25 inch blade, it's 2 smaller blades that gives it the 25 inch cut.
I can probably give you the best summary on this 40v 25 inch.
GW makes the 60v and 80v version so I was surprised they had a 40v version.
I did a full search for 40v 25 inch revies on YT and found very little.
I have a .44 acres housing complex and a 21 inch GW 60v and wanting something wider to cut down my mowing grass time.
I've ruled out a riding because I don't have the storage and I have too many fruit tress around the yard.
My biggest concern is is the 40v is powerful enough and if 2x 4ah is enough to cut the front or the back one at a time.
Remembered 40v x 4 = 160wh x 2. Where is 60v x 4 =240wh which is significantly more capacity.
Luckily I remembered I have 2 40v spares from a long time ago for extra capacity if they still works.
So instead of buying from GW and bought 1 from Walmart for the same price with no discount since I wanted to test it out and return easier if I didn't like it.
I got the mower this morning and put it right to work.
My spare 40v charged just fine and started the mower no problem.
I went to cut the back yard and I can honestly say it is a huge thumbs up.
The cuts were fine and it is noticeably lighter than my GW 21 inch mower.
What I gather from the net is that the dual blades will sometimes leave strings of grass in the middle between the 2 blades but I didn't see any from the small of grass I cut in the back.
The 2 40v 4ah will probably be just fine for the back yard and will be close for the front as it is bigger.
I will cut the front later this week and give an update.
Just got comparison, my 21 inch will go through a little more than 1 60v 5ah in the back yard and 2(or more) 60v 5ah if the grass is thick in the front yard.
Remembered that even if both mowers has the same run time, the 25v will cut more because it's wider.
Since this is a SD site after all, I did just purchased through GW for $383 + tax.
It ended up being about $80 cheaper than Walmart with the 15% off.
I will end up using this brand new unit to return it at Walmart since they have the exact SKU.

Both batteries aren't running the same time. The machine uses one at a time. Once one run out, the other one kicks in.

you are the real owner of this mower. it's true, greenworks batteries are kind of scam, over heated, short life and over priced replacement. stay away.
