I've accepted the fact you can buy decent tools made in China and better yet, Taiwan. These are made in India and that's a line I won't cross.

Five (half) of these metric wrenches would overlap with their SAE equivalents here (and vice versa).

Some people can not understand 13mm is 1/2. Once you get locked in (brainwashed) thinking outside the box (or ratcheting side, your choice) can be difficult.

My take on that is it simply depends on what the specs are that the manufacturer is held to. If you were to setup up manufacturing anywhere in the world you wouldn't simply let them create crap. That said there are countries I wouldn't necessarily want to support in any way no matter how small.

Yes but no, 13mm in NOT 1/2". Do we all do it, yes but those that know put the wrench on and check for slop first. Like I mentioned in my other reply it depends on how well the wrench and nut are manufactured. If both are cheaply made I'm not risking my knuckles or stripping the nut. But to your point you are correct many times and no worse than when I see people use a crescent wrench.

5/16" to 8 mm, 5/8" to 16 mm), and 3/4" to 19 mm are the only SAE to metric equivalents that meet spec (in typical fastener ranges). So much so that the IFI and NFDA say that they are interchangeable in almost all situations.

Crescent Wrench- the 90s poor man all-in-one tool for bolts. Best use of them for me is for adjusting door hinges to get the closure flush.
