The way I see it, Dreamweaver itself is already $150. Photoshop, if you become interested in it, is another $199. Illustrator and InDesign might make it worth the extra.

I was saving up to just get the Academic version of PS Extended. When I went to get my new computer, I had planned on letting them upgrade the RAM for me, and included that in the money I had set aside for the laptop. I eventually decided that $180 was far too much to pay for that, so I bought the RAM myself for $50 from a SlickDeal. That gave me $130 I had already planned on spending, which just happened to be the difference between Photoshop and Design Premium through our university system purchasing program.

I would not suggest spending that much if you would only use Dreamweaver... But when you start compounding the applications, it adds up pretty quickly.
