I forget if this has been posted or what but I've got a headache and I want to be distracted laugh out loud

What do you guys have for Christmas dinner? Even if you go to someone elses house what do you usually have? Or isn't there a "typical" dinner where you have the same approx thing every year?

Like for us, we go to my parents house and open presents and then we have kind of a buffet. My mom makes eggrolls and she's sweet and does it mostly for me because they ARE MY FAVORITE FOOD IN THE WHOLE WORLD! It's got water chestnuts and pork and ham and peanut butter and all sorts of stuff. Then she makes smokey links and meatballs and I bring my taco dip thing and we toyed with the idea of me making Hungarian Gulash this year but then figured maybe we had enough stuff, lol.

And then...AND THEN...she makes my other most FAVORITE FOOD IN THE WHOLE WORLD...cream cheese brownies. I love them so much. So very very much.

We don't have a typical dinner. It's ham this year, I've smoked a turkey and/or wings in the past.

Have you ever fried a turkey? I saw something at the store that was some peanut oil fryer for turkeys. I don't eat the skin but for some reason I've always thought it looked delicious, lol. I heard that it's supposed to make the turkey super juicy.

Thanksgiving food is delicious. It's the only time of year I ever have stuffing, lol. It's not that I don't like it it's just no one here likes it enough for me to make it during the rest of the year.

Puh. One meal isn't going to kill anyone. I once had a friend who was dieting and she said when she went to her families house for Thanksgiving she brought her own pieces of turkey breast and fat free mashed potatoes with no butter or anything and dry green beans, etc. and she was so unhappy watching everyone else eat. And while I admire her restraint the other part of me was like "But ONE meal? Is it THAT big of a deal?"

This sucks. SD isn't sending me an email notification of any PMs here. So I can't read them on the sly laugh out loud Which actually I guess is good because when I do that, half the time when I log back onto SD I forget that I have a PM waiting to respond to and then two weeks later I'm like "Ooooh yeah Doh "

the weirdest thing is they won't flinch eating kfc. its my grandparents and dad's favorite foods. the turkey won't be nearly as bad..

oh! so my sister did a thanksgiving in mali, africa. i gave her all these recipes to try and midified to what she had on hand. the grossest part were by far the turkeys. they didn't really pluck all the feathers off. guess they got lazy. in parts where the thicker feathers are like the tail/knees and such there were huge bumps. i told her to try brining it because it's prolly not going to be that good quality meat. she did.. but um they didn't discard the intestines. and she didn't know. it kinda swelled up in the solution and stuff.

rest came out pretty well.

Arj I keep getting a pop up notification that you quoted me and according to the feed or whatever it's called it says less than a minute ago. When I click on it though it just takes me to the top of this page. Did you say something I'm just not seeing? Last post of yours I see was the "I know the feeling" one.

Damn it! Another pop up saying Arj quoted me but all I see is me.

(Never thought I'd complain about that Rofl2 Seriously though...grrr).

Nope. I've heard it's delicious, but I'm a whore for meat-smoking.

That might sound a little wrong.
