DW was on her way to work this morning and was in a wreck. Rear ended and then hit two more times when other vehicles hit the one behind her.

She's okay. At the doctors now to get her checked. May have sprained her wrist. Getting something for migrain because she will have one tomorrow.

Right as I'm walking back up New York Ave. about to cross 15th St. onto Pennsylvania Ave. these Occupy DC protesters were marching up 15th (with a police escort) and the song "Flowers in Your Hair" by the Lumineers was playing on my iPhone... I'd never heard it before... this is what I heard:

We won't know for certain until we get the police report Thursday.

since it's an accident, in paying oop for now. Keeping receipts obviously.

She's sore. Took her home and put her to bed. Lortab and flexerall should help her sleep.

A dog adopted on Thursday. Sweetest thing ever. She started digging in my planter and I barely said "No" and didn't raise my voice or anything and she acts like someone screamed at her and she rolls on her back and thumps her tail. She does that if she even thinks you're unhappy with her. She just appeared in our yard. She's a Jack Russell. I posted signs all over our neighborhood and in all the streets surrounding us.I drove up and down the neighborhood and the surrounding streets asking people if they knew of anyone who lost a Jack Russell. I posted ads in craigslist, fidofinder and some others. I took her to the vet to see if she had a microchip (she didn't) and if they could see if she was fixed/her age. Not fixed and her age seems to be around 18 months. The vets fell in love and said if I can't find her a home and can't keep her the nurse would maybe be able to take her.

They kept saying "Awww she thinks you're her mama...you know you're gonna keep her. Look how she loves you." And I felt really guilty because 1.) We have a huge Husky, 2.) We have 3 cats and they barely tolerate one dog. Two of the cats are 15 and I don't want them to be super stressed their last few years. 3.) And probably most importantly, we just can't afford to take on another pet.

So this lady said she has a Jack Russell and she'd take her inside until we can find the owners and if we can't she'd adopt her. I took the dog to the park to meet her and her son and dog. OMG this sweet little stray started snarling and trying to attack her dog. And then her dog got off his leash and started running. It was a fun meeting. I told her she didn't have to take her but she said she could give it a try. Anyway she took the dog to the vet and it has two types of worms and fleas but otherwise is in awesome shape. She's been texting me pictures every day and each day her two dogs are getting along better and better and today they've been playing hide and seek and playing. She was also not housebroken but she's teaching her and she's doing really well. This lady is SO SO nice, I really like her. I've still been posting ads on Craigslist, and she's been checking in with our pound every day to see if someone has reported a missing dog like that but so far nothing.

Anyway here's a picture of the dog (they are naming her Brownie if they keep her). That was her on our porch. She spent the whole time looking inside and wagging her tail. She also walks along on her two back feet sometimes. It's pretty cool.

That's a really cute dog!!! I'm glad you're doing so much for her. A lot of people would have just dumped her off at the shelter.


Speaking of dogs...got my vacation booked. My sister won't watch my dog. Awesome. My mother before when I asked her to check on the cat and scoop the box just tells me that she doesn't do litterboxes. You know, I bend over backwards trying to do everything anyone wants me to do. God forbid I need something. My sister just said Chloe didn't sleep well at her house last time. She was awake and moving around a lot. So close your bedroom door and don't let her in. Then she said dogs just fare better in their own homes. Didn't stop her from taking her friend's dog for a week. So, now I have to either leave her outside, or find someone willing to come by right before bed, first thing in the morning, and twice during the day. Awesome.
