This 14 inch MacBook Pro pairs the M5 chip, 16GB of memory, and 1TB of storage with a steep Costco price cut, free shipping, and Costco return and warranty coverage. The Pro screen, ports, and fan cooling make it appealing for heavier multitasking, development, and creative work, while the 1TB drive adds extra headroom. The main concern is 16GB RAM, which can feel tight for large browser sessions, Office and Teams, or more demanding AI and development workloads. A solid value if your workload fits the memory ceiling.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes for office work, web browsing, light Python, photo editing, and light video editing under 1080p. It can feel tight with lots of browser tabs, Spotify, WhatsApp, or heavier multitasking, so users who already feel RAM-limited may want 24GB for more headroom.

    CC1478CapetofintlewoodlewixFrshh23

  • Costco's price is $1,349.99 versus Apple's $1,999, and the M6 14-inch MacBook Pro with 1TB is also listed at $1,999. A 13-inch MacBook Air with M5 and 1TB was cited at $1,600, making this Pro a notably cheaper 1TB option.

  • The clearance price can be seen online, but purchase may need to be completed in-store. Costco also lists free shipping on the item, and stock can vary by warehouse.

  • If stock holds, a deeper clearance may happen later. The current price is already being treated as a clearance tied to the newly launched M6 model, so waiting risks missing inventory.

Costco has the 14" MacBook Pro with the M5 chip, 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD (MDE14LL/A, item #1945139) for $1,349.99. Apple charges $1,999. It's on costco.com with free shipping, and most warehouses have it at the same price, though stock varies. The limit is 2 per member. You get Costco's 90-day return window on computers and a second year of warranty. The new M6 version just launched at $1,999, so this looks like a clearance price.

It all depends on a user's needs. The last MacBook I purchased 2 years ago was an air model with only 8GB RAM and I had to return it. 16GB is more than enough for my needs. This is a great deal, though, especially with the 1TB hard drive.

For 1350 it's absolutely fine. For a good local llm you need atleast 128gb. Get this for 1350 and get Claude or gpt subscription for 20/month. Rather than buying 32gb for 2-3k.
