=======================================================================================
There are three types of Shutterfly coupon codes:

1 - Account Codes - Shutterfly adds a code to your account and, depending on your email preferences, emails you to alert you to the offer. This is not transferable - the offer is tied to that Shutterfly account.

Make sure you tell Shutterfly to email you and you won't miss any deals. If you find deals in your account that you did not see in email - check your preferences.

* Go to My Shutterfly
* Go to the bottom and click on Personal Info/Settings
* Click on change under Email Preferences
* Make sure that the first box is checked
* Save now

A recent development in the Shutterfly world, probably in response to all the selling on eBay and trading on forums like this, where the offer code is emailed to the customer AND they have to add it to their account - it is not always added automatically by Shutterfly. The codes are typically 6-8 characters and look exactly like the shareable codes -- but they will only work on the accounts that Shutterfly chose to email this offer to.

2 - Shareable Codes - Shutterfly has some codes that are offered to affiliates/partners. These coupons can be shared and used in multiple accounts (once per account). Examples of what these codes look like are NMSA-XXXX or WIXXER09.

3 - Unique One time use codes - Shutterfly also offers one time use codes, typically they are 18 alphanumeric characters long, that come with special offers. These codes may be emailed to you or included in a printed card when you get a Shutterfly shipment. They may be won via Shutterfly contests. They may come from Shutterfly or from partner offers. Often times you can see these codes being sold on eBay. Examples of what these codes look like XXXX-7H9P-EBFX-V39VEC.

We lucked out and still have power but alot of people around here are without power. Lot of trees down etc. They claim this was the tail end of the devastating Mid-West storm and its heading east toward the coast. Hope Catram is safe because it should reach her soon.

Sorry to hear about the frustration! There should be some type of early intervention program in your area. In our state they are called Area Education Agencies (AEA). It might not help with preschool, but it would be better to have some type of assessment done before he enters K. Once school starts, these agencies are swamped and then you would be lucky to have anything done before winter break...just my 2 cents. Is he 5 yet? 5 is also a magic number in Iowa...once they turn 5, it is harder to find services in our state. If he is under 5 there might be more options for you.
i agree as another Iowan.
Quote from CoquetayLoca :
He is 5. I am going to the school on June 3rd for something else so I will see what I can schedule then. I know the process can take a long while to get IEPs and the other things in order. I am really hoping that is is all the structure in the program that he was in that made him act up. Part of me wants to wait it out and see how he does with kindergarten.

Preschool ends June 8 and then Kindergarten starts August 29. That will be 3 hours a day and I will just be working part time so I will be spending a lot more time with him this summer. It was more a daycare thing that I put him there for. I am still working full time so we needed a full time program.
Remember the earlier you find out if there is a problem the better off you will be. Wish I had known about DS MUCH earlier.

Yeah! Booked our rental car for FL for $176 for the week via priceline! I am happy with that as we were just going to take a cab from the airport, but that roundtrip was going to be 80 bucks plus we were going to have to have a taxi at least one other time, so now if I get pi$$ed off, I will just take off and go see Kootz!

Been super busy with getting my daughters college graduation party together. It turned out great and I think everyone had a good time. We had storms the following day, but nothing like I've seen on the news other places. One graduation down, and one more to go. My youngest graduates from high school this year also. Trying to tie up the loose ends to her party next month. Anyone ever do a pasta bar for their party? I have such a hard time figuring out how much food to make.....

.
I love pasta bars at parties...Great idea

P.S. I snipped a bit of what you wrote BUT Did you se how tight Tim's jeans were...Drool

Now how do you sneak on-board with boxed wine and WHY do they search your luggage before getting on?! That seems crazy to me!

It did and the big tree next to our house got struck by lightning, which sent the electrical surge through our antennae and into our TV, DVR, 3 computers and lots of other things. Our deductible is $500 so I dunno how this will turn out very well.
Box wine goes in the big suitcase. It's the easiest to bring since it won't break in the suitcase especially if flying first.

Cruise ships hate for people to bring booze on board. It's too big of a moneymaker for them. I say Tough Titty...

So sorry about the storm. You just can't catch a break you poor thing

This made me LOL - the same thing happened to us with day care. My sweetest child actually got her sister and herself booted from day care/pre-school for biting (3 strikes and you're out). Guess where she learned to bite? The DIRECTOR'S kid. Of course, to make the director's child stop (after biting several kids multiple times per day for weeks) she put jalapeno juice in his mouth b/c she could b/c she worked there and was with him all day. I was so mad. hug

This reminds me of SNL. laugh out loud
When John was little he was always biting other kids. I could not get that kid to stop even with all the reading on the subject I did. I mentioned it to his doctor who told me that the next time John bites another kid, tell the kid to bite him back. I was like f that. That dr is crazy. Well the biting continued and one day Calvin was sitting on a ride on toy of Johns (mind you they were little best friends) and John wanted him off and Calvin didn't get off so John bit his leg really hard. They were like 2 and 3 at the time. Out of fustration I looked at a crying Calvin and said thats it!! Bite him back and bite him hard!! John never bit anyone again!!!! Oh and while on the subject of biting, when Lauren was in 3rd grade I used to car pool with a friend and one of her girls was in Laurens class. After school Lauren came up to the van without Jen and when I asked her where she was Lauren said she didn't care and Jen bit her today in school. I was like HUH? What are you talking about you guys are in 3rd grade. There's no biting in 3rd grade!! She said Jen got up out of her seat and walked over to her and bit her on the arm. I started laughing and Lauren got really mad at me but I couldn't believe it. I asked her what the teacher said and Lauren said she didn't tell on her. How the teacher missed it I don't know but anyways, when Jen got up to the car I asked her if she bit Lauren and she burst into tears and said yes and I don't know why but I started laughing even harder. I asked her why and she said she didn't know why. So I told her to apologize and explained that I had to tell her mom or she had to tell her mom so they could talk about it. Lauren was mad at me for the rest of the day. They remained friends and still are. Actually Jen is in some of L's grad party pics. She's had some other issues thru the years but they are finally getting worked out. Oh well I just thought I'd share that story...no moral of the story to share with you guys lol

Apparently I missed the cutoff for the preschool age testing. If I want do anything I have to do it directly with the local school. I am goingto hold off and see how he does in kindergarten. It's only 3 hours a day. His preschool is about 7 hours a day of academics. Maybe a shorter day is what he needs
I was one of those parents that was very happy we only had a 3 hr kindergarten. I know that a lot of parents need day care and all day school due to working. But I always felt that for the rest of their lives kids were gonna be living the 9 to 5 structured life and I gave up a lot as far as extra's to stay home with my kids to give them a few years of just being a kid before starting that. It wasn't easy thats for sure. We lived pay check to pay check and I was fortunate to have help from my family whenever we were in dire straights but it was worth it especially for John and Anthony. It's been my experience that boys don't do school the same way girls do. They seem to need more activity. With John since his birthday was in November, he was actually going to do 3 yrs of preschool. I found a gym that had a 2 day a week 3hrs a day preschool and that worked out perfect for him. One hr was learning numbers and letters and things like that. 2 hrs was spent in the big gym playing. They even had a rope hanging from the ceiling and the kids would climb up on these big foam platforms and swing from the rope. It was a perfect introduction to school for John. Our library also had a reading program that we did once a week and I had several friends with kids his age that we always got together with so it wasn't him just sitting home with me.

I guess I should also add that I wanted John tested because I knew he had a learning disability. But after talking to the teacher I requested for 1st grade, we decided to wait until 2nd grade to have the testing done and get his iep. John was no dummy and she knew that he would know that wasn't a good thing and would affect his self esteem. It was a good call on her part. She put a lot of extra work into him to get him thru that first year without the extra services provided with an iep and I totally love her for that. She really looked out for him and still writes to him even now.

I got word yesterday that Gabe will not be allowed to attend summer camp at the school he was going to due to his behavior. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) He was only enrolled for 3 weeks but whatever. I am so sick of this whole behavior issue that been going on all year. By no means is he a perfect child, but I think the strict structure of the school does not bring out the best of him. Its preschool!

I am scheduling an appt with the special education people from the local public school. My only concern is that I don't think he is behind academically. He probably isn't advanced, but he's good. He can write all the alphabet. Sometimes letters are backwards, etc. He knows all the numbers. He is sounding out words and tries to spell and read. He does basic math. His issue is his behavior that only comes out in certain situations and I don't know if they will be able to trigger that or see it during an assessment. Blah...
Read your other posts as well. I'm totally for all the testing at an early age, but you could be right that so many hours of structured preschool might have been his problem. Good luck with this as I know it is frustrating when you are having to advocate for your child and know there is some kind of a problem but can't pinpoint what it is or how to help them.

DS was a biter, learned it at daycare. I had heard about biting back but didn't really think it would work. We had tried everything and weren't having any success. Then one day when I was cooking supper he came up behind me and bit me on the back of the leg, HARD. I was so irritated because he was just trying to get my attention but hadn't even been crying, making any noises or pulling my clothes to get my attention, just went straight to the bite. At that point I was at the end of my patience with him so I did bite him back on the arm (not hard but hard enough for him to know it was a bite) since we had tried everything else. He just looked up at me with a shocked look on his face and sad eyes like he was saying "OMG!! I love you Mom and I can't believe you just hurt me!". Then he started screaming and I started crying because I felt horrible for doing it but didn't know what to do because nothing else was helping. Needless to say, it didn't work. The next day he was back to his chomping on me and on his sister and kids at daycare. We just had to keep telling him no and putting him in time-out until he finally grew out of it.

In my house there's never too much. So whenever I'm preparing food for a party, I always over cook so there are plenty of leftovers for the next days dinner when I'm to tired to cook.
bulb Good idea on the leftovers! I would have never thought of that!

I am crying my eyes out right now! BAD, BAD GIRLS!!! A very nice Schwann's delivery man just showed up at my door with two giant bags of food! He just knew that I was "Coachie" & this was from Karen. David had just taken the boys out, so he carried everything into the kitchen for me. He must have thought I was a complete idiot, I was in complete shock & fighting back tears.

David had told me that I had a surprise coming today from my SD friends, & that I wasn't allowed to look at anyone's FB page until today because I might ruin the surprise. I thought that maybe you guys were sending a tin of cookies or something, I would never have guessed that you were sending me a freezerful of food! BAD, BAD GIRLS, ALL OF YOU! And bad Kootzie for being the ringleader!

You have all already been so incredibly generous with the Amazon, & now THIS?! I am crying & smiling at your generosity, & I love you all so very much. And I want names so I can get my revenge! David is flipping out like a little kid, & I know the boys are going to love the goodies, especially the ice cream treats! LOVE YOU SO MUCH! BAD, BAD!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks!

Storm - so sorry to hear about the lightning crapping out your electronics. Damn severe weather is really sucky this year. Hope things work out with the insurance & deductible so you can get replacements soon.

hug I do, I do. hug

I really have no idea where John learned to bite. He wasn't in preschool yet and he was the last of the 4 kids and they never bit anybody or him. I guess I was lucky he didn't ever bite me. He probably knew that he would be in big trouble if he did lol I tried everything with him. Talking to him, time out, seperating him from the other children, nothing would work. I think he bit them out of fustration maybe because he was the youngest. I'm just glad that behavior was gone by the time the school years came. It was hard enough getting that child to do any school work. If I had to deal with behavioral issues on top of academic issues he had I think I would have been done for! Being a mom is by far the hardest job there is.
