Fill your bathtubs and trash cans with water. It will give you several toilet flushes if ya lose water.

Good luck on your sale heart

And, I love five guys! But, it wouldn't be my choice if I could go anywhere laugh out loud
Thanks! I love five guys too, but come on, when you can get seafood or something nicer? Where they actually serve you? laugh out loud Oh well, his boss'll be happy, I suppose. Cheap date!

Good morning!

Flug -- hope you selling like crazy. Congrats to your husband. That's wonderful.
Thanks!!

I did ok, considering there were no other yard sales at.all. At the end, it had already started raining and this family was trying to drive a bargain on every single thing and it was really getting on my nerves. I mean, I price everything very fairly, so they're already getting a great deal. I think they were thinking since we were closing up and it was bad weather, etc., that we'd be desperate for a sale. Not that desperate!!! shake head I know full well I can get the prices I've marked and I am happy to wait.

Gotta run - we have to go and get my son his school shoes before we get the full force of this storm. Oh, and then the fantasy football league that my hubby is commissioner of is having their draft tonight. Faint So he and I get a date, of sorts, during a tropical storm. Teehee

Flugette: Congrats to DH! I know that is a huge weight off your shoulders.

Hope everyone is staying safe & dry. Little man and I are fighting a cold...SO much sinus congestion and pressure that I can't even wear my glasses. Thermometer says it's 94 degrees but heat index of 117 Faint Taking it easy inside today.

May venture out to Publix for a few things but that's as far as we'll go.

Anyone seen Limitless? Heard it was really good. DH and I watched Adjustment Bureau last night and it was just ok...not a huge fan of Matt Damon.

I am still drugging with sleep... Smilie but glad to be back...

L2BM, glad to hear about your DS Smilie

Flug: Congrats on your DH's exams..

Our trip was pretty good, kids enjoyed a lot...woke up at 4 am, went to unpack the stuffs, atleast sorted them off..

Have to reorganize everything, DH messed up THE.WHOLE.PLACE. pots and pans are mess and stained... dh says that i am complaining ALL the time since i stepped inside the home Frown

I bought lots of sweets and some of them spoiled, sad to see them go waste.. I hate British Airways. They couldn't even get into any plane for 2 days and only when i screamed at top of lungs (well, sort of) that they found us seats to dubai, then to NY, and then to Philly. Kids went wild...

Can you imagine DH never told me about the hurricane Irene... I am roaming like a zombie and have no idea whatsoever. My friend alerted me yesterday night.. this morning I went shopping that i couldn't even find a can of water...atleast found some groceries.. thankfully we are not in the predicted path, but we are in the flood watch area...

Congrats ANK and THISMOM for the new home...
GG: Hope you feet letter sweetie...
MOT2: I am not in one piece really, so tired and cranky, now very much upset over the spoiled sweets...

So awesome on your son!!!

And since this has been a day of great news, I'm gonna share some - my hubby passed his CCNA!!!!! This has been almost 2 years in the works, today marked his 5th attempt. I was and am SO proud of him. Both of us feel like we're floating, because such a huge burden has been lifted. He now has one (much smaller) certification to get and then he will most likely be promoted to senior engineer in Oct, which involves a *huge* pay raise. I am just so excited for him, because he has worked so hard and was getting depressed because he couldn't pass it. Thank You, God!!!!
Congrats to your dh! My dh is taking some certification in a few weeks to fulfill the IT needs for his job site. The company is wavering on whether there will be a pay increase or not but here's hoping.

My Target has been oos on the Nabisco 12 packs for the B3G1 FREE deal since day one. And also for the Oscar Mayer honey ham. Plenty of OM chicken and turkey. Thumbdown

Do the stores order and just get what is sent them?
Boo on them! I picked up more Oreos and Teddy Grahams and was kicking myself for not getting a few more packs of the Snackwells and Fig Newtons yesterday because dh likes those varieties.

morning Yawn drinking coffee and enjoying a wonderful Saturday morning Smilie

HD- I have the same problem with stock.. Mine has been out of bread all week. Finally went to the ST last night and got some. And the ST had a much bigger selection of nabisco.. I found a few packs that I had never ever seen before so I don't think the others stores carry them. My ST had multipacks with animal crackers, lorna doone, and teddy grahams.. plus the big 12 packs of chips ahoy only. There wasn't even a spot for those at the other 2 stores.. So, I may go back there again today to stock up more.
My ST store also carries caprisun lemonade which I hadn't seen at the other stores.

I hope your stores restock for you!

Happy shopping everyone! I cleaned my house yesterday so I am planning on hitting a few targets today!
The only store I found with bread in stock today was the Air Force commissary! laugh out loud

Ewww, don't like T.com's new look - I thought I landed on the wrong site at first. Not liking it at all!
It does look odd. Maybe they were trying to merge the T mobile and standard sites, and it came out wrong.
Quote from slowtech :
morning!

i think i am shopped out. just did not feel like going out yesterday or today and don't think i will find much anyway b/c of all the panicking about the hurricane. we could use a loaf of bread but i very highly doubt there is even a crumb left. we don't really eat all that much bread so not a big deal. i have tons of crackers. hmmm, maybe i should pop some popcorn saturday night? nah! i have boxes and boxes of breakfast cereal that need to be eaten, chips, free oreo cups, etc. we will be totally sick of junk food if we have to subsist on it for even a couple days.

charged up my cellphone, charged up a whole bunch of rechargeable batteries, we bought gas at costco on the way home on wed so we have more than the recommended half tank of gas. dh brought in the hose reels and our sad orange plant yesterday. just have to bring in the bbq grill we never use later. and close up the bathroom windows i normally leave open a little.

ok, let me go get some stuff taken care of. later!
Stay safe ST! hug

I haven't seen Limitless but thought Adjustment Bureau was blah. I was expecting more from the hype (no offense to anyone that loved it). I have Limitless sitting here to watch but couldn't get dh to watch it with me after a few other recent movies were such flops. (in our opinion)

Well, went to target earlier and then came home and worked on yard sale stuff all day.. Man, I have alot of stockpile to sell.. I priced and organized for about an hour and a half, and then decided to call it a night.. Gonna try to work a little each night this week and have a big sale this coming weekend. Hoping for a good holiday weekend crowd!

My throat is killing me today.. Been drinking all day.. coffee, tea, water, diet soda.. lots of stuff.. Hoping it gets better by tomorrow!

I'm hoping next weekend is a GOOD yard sale weekend. Big Grin Feel better!hug

Dh and I spent the last two hours matching socks. Holy cow, we still have a basket of unmatched socks. I admit, it's a failing of mine, after so many unmatched socks are in a pile, they go in a basket. Basket goes in a corner. Rinse and repeat. *sigh* Had 30 Rock playing in the background. Not a bad show, hadn't watched it before but it's been saved in my hulu subscribed section for months. Embarrassment Tomorrow, we tackle the boys' room.

hi creatures of the friendly kind.

DARK and POURING here. been like this since the early morning hours. waiting for Irene to come with full force. hopefully she's tired by the time she heads our way.

L2B, sore throat? got any ricola at home? the yellow kind. not sugar free, just regular with sugar. EEK! laugh out loud it comes in the yellow packet with herb pictures on top. none of the other funky flavors. just the classic original one. if so, heat water for tea. put 2 ricolas in a mug. pour hot water and stir intermittently with spoon till the ricolas are totally melted. drink up your ricola tea! do this several times a day. your throat will feel much better, as will your sinuses.

Good morning..
Hope everyone is safe and Irene is not as fearful as we believe
it is all raining, dark and gloomy...
woke up at 3:30 am, cleaned up and organized pantry...
drank a coffee and ate an omelette + drank a cup of milk...
DH broke the two rice cookers on the same day... he says that he heard a sound when he plugged the rice cooker, and same thing happened with the second rice cooker when plugged in the same outlet Confused
now i wonder what happened? I should have know atleast yesterday when the macy's deal was on, atleast i could have ordered one... I am so lost without a rice cooker...
I think i need another cup of coffee..kids are up and the DS#2 is so acting up with the piano with very loud volume and i am cranky!

i think you need some chocolate and a martini. make that a chocolate martini! Big Grin
how about some kahlua in your coffee? Embarrassment

hug

it is agitating to come home after a long trip and instead of being able to settle in find everything a mess. not cool.

test that outlet. might not be DH's fault. you might have a faulty outlet and it will burn out appliances that plug in there. at home depot, radio shack etc you can find outlet checkers for just a few bucks. you plug it in and the lights tell you whether the outlet is working correctly or not.

rice cooker: i don't have one. i always just use a regular pot and then just drain. never have any issues. i've cooked brown basmati, white basmati, white jasmine, wild rice, red rice, black rice, several types of long grain and short grain brown and white rice. they all need different cooking times and different amount of water, but still i never had an issue.

i just wash the rice well before putting in pot, so you wash away the extra starch to prevent stickiness. i cook on medium in a covered pot and allow for extra water in pot to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot and scorching. that's it.
