it is a hard way to do things. i've always been a very independent person, to the point that friends, dates etc always chided me for being too independent/too self sufficient/not asking for help. now here i am unable to rely on my body for little things, having to constantly hope for someone's goodwill, or to plead, or to go without. it's no fun.
but i'll be very grateful if i can get approved for the shuttle, because at least i won't have to dread medical appts. and there's a grocery store and cvs right by PT, so in theory I can get things from there and bring back a bag or two in the shuttle. pharmacy - my doc is sending stuff for me to the hospital outpatient pharmacy, so i can pick up rx there before/after doc's appts. PT place is down the road (couple of blocks) from main hospital. so at most shuttle can drop me at hospital, i can get meds, then crutch it over to PT, and get shuttle back from PT with some groceries/toiletries in hand. or that's my thought. that'll eliminate pressure on family, too.
in our 20s and 30s we are used to being strong and fit and able to do much. feeling so limited when you are young and watching your peers do so much with such ease is no fun. but so it is. this is the cross given to me. and i'm trying my best to get through and control my whining, complaining and fussing.
yes, that guy was something. especially because he knew i was on crutches, getting therapy at the hospital and taking buses and trains to get there to meet him. not sure when people became so self-absorbed.
went to bed around 5 am.. DH was on call and his pager went off at 6:30 am.. then my DD woke up at 7:15
Heading to church soon and then off to visit with the inlaws and see our newest nephew.. can't wait to snuggle the little baby! I love babies
Gonna come home tonight and see if I can figure out shutterfly.. Never done it, but have several cats from target and I want to try my luck with making something!

speaking of wags, are they supposed to adjust mq's down or do you always have to have a filler? i go to wags probably 4-5x/yr. i went yesterday to get the free simply juices that were .99. the ip was 1.00. bought 3 w/ ivc(?, wkly store q) so it came out to 2.97 and cashier wouldn't adjust down like cvs, said i had to buy something. luckily i was having her write out a raincheck for the posterboard so i looked quickly at the flier and got the .09 highlighters for filler. i would have gotten pencils but they didn't have any. i've had them tell me at another store they can't adjust mq's down also.
You don't want to read it st. It was a trainwreck... thankful for new threads every week in the DS world...

Not much going on the next couple days - going to try to relax and chill a little bit and then next wk. when dd starts prechool in the morning my one and only goal is to really get my q's good and organized so I can get some new shopping habits down and hopefully be more organized. Now dd just needs to cooperate and be good today and tomorrow. I'm pretty sure she got all of her bad behavior out at church this AM
Meanwhile, on the Target front, I think I'm gonna like that new $5 off Mossimo q.

According to their coupon policy they are supposed to mark them downlinky [walgreens.com]
If you would have had them scan the mq's first and then the ivc, it would not have beep.

Our AC is acting up.. so, it is pretty warm inside. We have the windows open and I am hoping to feel some rain and winds soon. It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow and we have cooler temps forecasted thankfully! Gonna try to get someone out to look at the air first thing Tuesday morning!
Got some interesting news today.. you know my oldest DS decided to stay with my sister in Wyoming after being there for the summer. I wasn't happy about it, but decided since he is 18, I need to just let him try to find his way in the world and give it ago living on his own.. Anyway, my sister called today and told me he lost his job today, so I don't know what that will mean. I am hoping he decides to come back home. He was supposed to fly into town this coming weekend for a visit, so I hope he just stays. I hate that he lost his job, but will be thankful if he comes back home and gets enrolled in college again..
my dd is 5 and having her second surgery Oct 13 and I asked some close family members if they would come down and take my youngest and drop my oldest off at school. All of them had every excuse in the damn book. I am especially furious with my sister who just sent my wonderful nephew off to college. He needed sheets, a fridge, pillows, a laptop and several other things a lot of stuff from my stockpile deodorant etc. I paid for it all. I also gave him 100 gc to walmart and 100 to shaw's because there is a shuttle to those two stores. I'm just sick of going out of my way for every singe one of them and they can't come 2.5 hours for their niece. We moved to CT and they have been here twice in 4.5 years we have been here. If I don't go up there once a month they start laying the guilt trip on real thick. We don't know anyone here so they know I need someone.
I hope all you east coasters are recovering quickly, we were very fortunate that Irene didn't do much to us personally.

funny how strangers can be so much more appreciative of your good will than your family. not so funny how your family takes you for granted. i find that sometimes instead of offering, i wait until people ask for what they want and then they will appreciate you more. and i pretend ignorance when people fish, looking for you to offer. i'm oblivious to those shenanigans.

Enjoying a quiet relaxing morning with all my munchkins plus daddy here at home. I'm planning on doing an hour's worth of cleaning, and then do a little shopping. Then an extended family picnic, that will most likely be pushed indoors due to rain. Perfect day!!
L2B, I hope things work out as you want with your son. That's gotta be difficult.
