it's fashion week so there is heightened awareness. also all the largest issues of fashion mags for the yr just came out. i'm sure there were ads for target in them. i saw the tv ads last night.
To be honest it looks like a combination of Native American patterns/Chinese finger trap toys/South American bracelets. Or what a pastel clown pukes up after a long night.
But I guess I'm just simple and naive to these haute couture items. I wonder if you can get a discount on PBR with each purchase...
I'm wondering how Thrifteh's diet test is going on her boys (not that she's experimenting or anything....)
Sorry - this mama will avoid these designers duds. Although some are cute I learned when I was little that horizontal stripes are BAD for the butt.
I think it's really cute. I'm usually a t-shirt and jeans girl, but I have a soft spot for hippy-ish looks and lots of color.
While I understand the immense appeal, I just find it ridiculous. The entire point is to bring an up until today non attainable designer for the masses TO the masses at a fraction of the cost---not rack up the cost and thus make it unattainable yet again.
and thats the same seller, who sold the first one FOR $950, now saying $950 and the reserve hasnt been met
If you are such a fashionista that this is so important, shell out the bucks for the real thing. These items may have this guy's name on them, but they're coming from the same sweatshops that Merona and Mossimo come from. I have no sympathy for what someone may have to pay on eBay to get one.

as to whether resellers will be disappointed, we'll just have to see. fashion is fickle. but i wouldn't be surprised if some items end up being collectibles since they are limited edition.
for everybody else, i wouldn't rush out to buy anything unless you really love it, it's a fairly expensive piece by target's standards and looks distinctively missoni. more or less what you love but you think is ugly anyway. the cheapest items will not retain their value b/c they will have the most supply and look the most generic.

LOL ... I checked the tags on some of the items today ... for an "Italian" clothing line .. I saw "Made in China" and "Made in Colombia"
A side note, but even "Made in America" doesn't mean made on our soil. Several brands, including Hanes have sweat shops in Jamaica that are technically located in American free ports, so they can carry the "Made in America" claim, but not have to follow any US labor laws or employ US citizens. Life in Debt is a good movie and is (or was) available in Netflix.
