Good Morning everyone!!

Beautiful day here today. Only 2 weeks till spring break! Even though my kids are teens, I still look forward to spring break. LOL

AND I never thought I would say this, but being a parent to a teen/young adult can be just as hard as being a parent to a 3 or 4 year old! Uggh some days are soo stressful. Like today when my DD decides to drive 3hrs to meet a friend for a concert. I don't know what is so bad about staying at home, instead of going out and having a good time?? I am at home and bored all the time and I am still alive. LOL (j/k of course) I know she will have a wonderful time but these kinda things just stress me out.
Being a parent to a young adult / teen is light years harder and more stressful Frown. The level of independance is sometimes much greater than
their judgment and skill level or . or lack thereof .

The consequences for their actions from the "outside" world can be much harsher and longer -lasteing than they realise.

All we can do is hang on , pray and try to be the voice of reason, while they navigate new found freedoms.

I'd bet the instructions are missing too then.Mad I hate that. Typically Target is really good about labeling open boxes but maybe since you didn't notice until you got it home that they didn't notice it either. Since Target is really good about returns on defective items I tell them at the service desk if I return a POS.

I feel the same way. I just got started on Zumba and Couch to 5k (running for beginners) and then I jammed my ankle. So at some point I have to start all over.
http://www.amazon.com/EA-Sports-A...118&sr=8-1

At the very least it is missing the cord thing. but also maybe the nunchuck thing too. I have my receipt so return will be easy. I am sure they didn't notice it was open either, the way the factory tape tab it cut both sides are still there and it really does look unopened.

Sorry about your ankle. I have been thinking of the couch to 5k too. But it is still so cold here and snowing off and on. I am a wimp going out in the cold!

Nikayla..Yes it sounds like it is missing a piece. I have that set to, which is the reg. EA active. There is a cord that hooks from the wii remote to the nunchuck. I remember because I about hung myself several times while using it. It is a great workout but loved it when I saw that the EA 2 went to the armstrap instead. lol

Thanks everyone for the support involving my DD. She is such a good kid. And she texts me ALL the time while she is gone but man it is so hard to let them grow up and be free!.. I thought I was going to die just dropping her off for school everyday when she was younger and not knowing how she was doing all day. (and ya know when you pick them up, you feel silly cause they come out with that smile because they had so much fun at school lol) But now, I realize that was piece of cake compared to all of this.
My worry is that at this age, they seem so oblivious to what CAN happen while out and about like that...or maybe I am just over protective and freak out too easy. lol

Heck my 15yr son is going on a school trip for 2 days this weekend and my DH is already making some plans to take me out for dinner and shopping on Sat just cause he knows I will be a basket case and wants to help take my mind off worrying so much. Hate that it seems easier for dads to 'not worry' while I am here needing some meds. Smilie

I am the same way as you about letting my kids go. My DD just turned 15 and the few activities she has gone to worry me to death. I am not prepared for the letting go part at all. I do trust her, she is a really good girl. It is the rest of the world I do not trust one tiny bit!

She had a great time. Said she danced almost the entire time. They were sweet. Came home pretty much right after prom ended and sat at our house and hung out and talked. He finally left just before 2 am. I am gonna try to attach a picture for those who aren't on my FB page.

We got quite a bit of rain here last night. Made for a restless night of sleep. I am feeling it about right now..

And, now our stupid septic tank is acting up. I think all the rain pushed it over the edge.. Now DH is threatening the kids about not using water tonight.. no showers,etc.. and yeah, that is going over well with 3 teens who need to get ready for church in the morning laugh out loud
Ewww just the thought of no showers makes me shudder.

Morning, everyone! I'm home with 2 little ones that aren't feeling well. Hate to miss church, but not good to spread the germs!

Had a wonderful time last night. Went with my sisters and a friend to the Celtic Woman concert. So awesome. Chloe had an amazing performance of Ave Maria - took so much out of her she collapsed at the end. Once-in-a-lifetime thing. So awesome. That was my birthday gift from my hubby. heart

Searching out all the deals for this week. I had my first yard sale of the season yesterday - record-breaker!!! $600!!!! Faint Had NO idea it would be that great. We actually had to turn people away because we had a family event planned. Everyone was begging us to have another one next Saturday, so guess I have to spend this week restocking. My guess is the recent hike in gas prices has people anxious to save wherever they can. I am happy to help them!!! Big Grin
Great job!! We had a yard sale this past weekend as well. I was surprised at the number of people that will go yard saling in the rain!

i think if you say rain or shine and it rains, you will have lots less competition and everyone who wanted to shop yard sales will end up in your yard.

however, one time my second day was a cold and drizzly sunday and i think i made about 10 dollars. sundays here are horrible and the rain just made it worse.

now i always check the 5 day forecast on monday b4 i decide to have a yardsale on fri and sat.

but w/ one excuse or another, i end up having them every 2 yrs.

i would like to try a thurs, fri and sat one yr. has anybody ever tried 3 days? pricing and setting up is a huge production for me so i want to make the most of it.

Sundays bomb around here, at least for me. We tried having a yard sale on Sundays a few times and would make $50 or so. Wasn't worth our time. Usually we only do Saturday sales but this weekend tried Friday afternoon, and that went well. Won't be able to do that every time unless it coincides with the one Friday a month that dh gets off work early.

I've set up on a Friday morning/early afternoon here and done fairly well. Never better than Saturday, but people are able to stop in on Friday that can't come on Saturday, so its a different crowd.

Trying to figure out what I'm doing tomorrow for my birthday.

You know you have raised a good daughter when she:
1. calls you to let you know that she has arrived safe to her destination (3hrs away) and
2. calls to say that she is within a block of a supertarget and wishes she would have taken an envie full of cpns with her.
LOL

I did find out that the part of the concert she wants to see doesn't even start until 10:45pm and then they will have an hour drive back to the dorms. uggh I think I am in for a long night. I am having her text me when they are safe back in the dorm room, so probably won't be able to sleep until I get that text!

Unless those beauty products are currently on clearance or will be free/cheap with coupon, I will never have a code. lol

I always say I knew I was a grown up when I borrowed my dad's minivan and returned it with a full tank of gas (though it wasn't full when I borrowed it).....

gas was cheaper then...Frown I would probably return it with a half tank now. Rofl2
