someone in a CVS thread (I think) mentioned TP and whether or not you have enough of it. This brought back memories of the old TCC with .teri., C4 and Thrifteh and their TP and PT forts. (I got hooked into reading from then too... I was gone for over an hour).

OMG I would so be in heaven. Nothing like that around here! Maybe near Chicago? Not sure. The only Janie & Jack I've ever been to was in Schaumburg, IL and it was before dd was even born. DD had a couple pieces (off the clearance rack laugh out loud) from there when she was itty bitty. LL Bean outlet would be fun. I like their stuff but hate that I can't see it in person. I have been to the store near Chicago though, that was fun.

Glad the little guy is doing well!

The Coach outlet allows people to buy 5 of the same bag, or did I read that wrong? Around here, it's 3 identical sku within 45 days or something like that. Is there something special going on next weekend that I should go check out? Smilie We have a Coach outlet in Potomac Mills (Woodbridge VA) but I'm itching to go to Williamsburg so I can shop at the better outlet mall there. It has LLBean, Dooney, Coach, Hanna Andersson and Janie & Jack stores. Must.stay.away.

I'm here, just busy but trying to get back into posting and shopping. I'm finding that as I get older, I don't care as much for typing with one hand. lol My other hand keeps trying to reach toward the keyboard but baby Nolan isn't happy with that.

He's doing well. Had some weight gain issues because he was a sleepy little guy. At his 2 week check he was still 1/2 lb under his birth weight but as of last Monday, when he was 4 weeks old, he weighed 7 lbs 6 oz, which is 3 oz more than his birth weight. He has a check-up this Friday and I would be surprised if he isn't over 8 lbs now. He's fallen into a pretty good routine on his own, sleeping for about 2 hours straight, up for about an hour, then another 2 hours of sleep, repeat all night. It's doable. lol

Glad little one is doing well, oh that interrupted sleep is hard on moms hug . I don't think I could do it again , for more reasons than one.

You guys are making me want to hit up the outlets.... no , no musn't do it shake head. Pocketbboks are my weakness, weellll that and ice cream .

JJ has been potty trained since Feb & boy oh boy what that kid can do to a roll in 2.3 seconds. My stockpile is depleting simply because of a toddler. Everytime he unrolls an entire roll I tell him that tp is expensive to which he replies, "no it not mama!" Facepalm maybe he should start doing the shopping.

LMAO

Well, in that case DR would not approve of the vacation I am leaving for tomorrow Teehee ...or a trip to the shopping mall I will be going to... ....or a potential stop by the outlet mall..... Scratchhead Roll

In all seriousness we have been following DR pretty closely; I love most of his stuff but either I am just not-so-hardcore or there are just a few things I disagree on. For instance, we had been so gung-ho paying down debt these last 2-3 yrs. that up until this year we'd really gone nowhere as a whole family vacation-wise. We decided this year that we really wanted dd to have some vacations to remember and thus we went (and have paid cash...no credit card debt currently and not planning on any any time soon) but it's still money that could go toward the small amt. we do have left to pay down and that makes me feel guilty Frown BUT we are set to pay off our car this month or next, then just one small student loan and we are through that step.....so I have a plan and don't feel tooooooooo terribly bad Big Grin Or at least can do a good job of convincing myself......
laugh out loud Great job on the debt payoff. I knew I had read someone on here had mentioned doing the DR plan.
I just started reading the books. I have known the basic idea of it by reading his website and have been doing the cash/envelope system (or version of) for quite awhile. The thing that has really gotten me into it more is my DD19. She is so focused on not having any debt including student loans that she budgets EVERYTHING on a spreadsheet. Soo I disclosed a few details about our debt with her and we had a nice discussion. She says mom that is nothing compared to some of the ppl in those books (she has read all of them). You could pay that off in a few months. Sooo..I am on a little mission to prove to her that yes I absolutely can. We have no car debt. House will be paid off in 3 years anyways. I have one small CC and my DS braces. Which we are on a 20mo plan for those that started in Jan and I have it set to be paid off in next 4mo. by paying extra on it. I have paid off 3 smaller (under $1000 each) things in the last 2mo.

And yes we took a huge vacation this summer also. nod I absolutely LOVE spending time with my kids on vacation and am not willing to give that up. It was expensive and was paid for all in CASH!! (well that and giftcards LMAO )
My thought is as long as you have a balance with paying down debt and still living (within our means) life. It will all be fine.
We have step 1 done (plus more), working on step 2. I must say it seems harder to stay out of debt with older kids than it did with younger ones...I think. Cars, insurance, cell phones, school activities..it seems never ending. Sometimes I feel like we needed a highschool savings plan as opposed to a college savings plan. laugh out loud

Anyways enjoy your vacation with your family, you deserve it!!

Thrifteh, at least it's cheaper than diapers, right?

I don't use any Charmin because I'm on a septic field. Kinda hooked on Scott Extra Soft at the moment and yes, I have a TP stash at the bottom of my linen closet.

Amen! Plus we just flush his stank away. I'm definitely going to train Noah closer to 2 years versus 2.5.

I need to get to WF & Target today, but I have too much to do here. I have a memorial service to attend tonight. My insurance agent's wife passed from cancer. She was only 52. He's been my agent since I was 16 and even came to our wedding. My heart breaks for him.
