I just looked again and it is up to 12,009 members. I saw them add a few members today. lol One day I listed my 'album' before I went to bed and woke up to 47 notifications. It was CRAZY! I think that week I ended up making about $800. It is alot of work but really worth.
These have exploded in my area, too. I've been doing it for over a year. 1 group in my little town has over 11,000. I run one that has almost 1,000 (no bump rules, no album rules in my group).
In my area, it is a tremendous buyer's market. Things have gotten dirt cheap, & there are a lot of cheapskates on there who will offer 30% of your price. I go ahead & ask more than garage sale prices, though.
Local FB auction groups are starting to explode now, too. I like that, bc there's no ebay hassle, & better yet, no ebay fees! I never did ebay, bc of that. I just listed my 1st local auction item about an hour ago! Anxious to see how that turns out.
Good luck with the sale. I don't cpn near as much as I used to. Not even close. lol Mostly just to get our food cheaper. And I totally agree about how much time it takes up. I spend more time on buy/sell than I do cpning. lol But I am just really tired of having all this 'stuff' in totes that we don't even use. I have sold a TON of stuff. But the one that I am selling on has 12,000 members. Just this week alone I have made about $575. It is just refreshing to be able to benefit my family in a way other than stockpiling stuff we don't really need. lol Cash is always beneficial for us.
I will say that I have noticed that as my kids get older, we don't seem to 'need' as much as I thought we did. Not sure why. Just the way it is.
I did find out that the 5%tq that was in the mailer apparently DOES work on disney giftcards!! So I am going to try it and will end up saving about $175 towards our trip!
BTW... Good luck with your new job Flug!
And the job is just a great opportunity that literally fell into my lap, straight from God's hands I have no doubt.
A little nervous, too, because I haven't "worked" a real job in well over 7 years. The up side? I get to go clothes shopping!!

Just today, my DH was asking his boss for any extra overtime. I guess his boss said something about 'your wife doesn't work does she'. Good thing I wasn't there.
I work very hard to have what we have on a single income. Some weeks it feels like it would be easier to work outside the home than to do all that needs to be done PLUS make a little $$ on the side.
But to get back on my point. haha. I applaud you Flug for going back out there and doing what you want to do! And to have it be a job that seems like a perfect fit for you in many ways is just awesome!
sunny here. need to go to sns for my ravioli/gnocchi and frozen entree deal. will check cvs for any hidden clearance but i doubt it.

i think you can charge more for fb buy/sell than yard sales b/c you know exactly what you are getting. it's even better than going to the store where the shelf could have been cleared by a smash & grabber or even just a good sale. i get rainchecks from the supermarket practically every wk b/c they are always out of the category killers. yard sales you don't know what will be there, if what you want is already sold out unless the seller takes orders. w/ fb buy/sell, you really get rid of any uncertainty factor.
congrats flug! i'm sure you will do very well. what an awesomely perfect job! school hours and school calendar so you are off when your kids are off, free tuition for your LO,
and get to work w/ your bffs/sisters. be sure to tell us how it goes.
and don't forget, you are my whole foods buddy. i don't know anybody else who shops in my region at all b/c there are only 2 stores in my state in the mid-atlantic region. so even friends in the same state who shop at whole foods are in a different region. this wk's friday only sale is 31-40ct white shrimp for 6.99/lb iirc. i posted in the whole foods thread.
so dh tells me awhile ago that water is spurting out the sides of the garden hose spray attachment. i ask him what's wrong w/ it (maybe something is loose?) and he doesn't know, go take a look yourself. well, i know those things have to be replaced periodically cuz they sit out there and get beat up by the weather. thurs, the twin pack went to 70% off and grabbed one for me, one for bff.
so today i go take a look and it was a cheap RE one i got last yr or the yr b4 and it's almost all plastic and there's a big obvious crack on the side. and it's pretty much totally useless b/c half the water comes out the sides. i got drenched when i turned on the water. so what's dh been using to wash down the lawn mower after mowing the lawn? we do have another garden hose down in the basement and it should have a spray attachment but dh was too lazy to ever bring it up for the season. he could have just gone and gotten that one.
now i know bff's 4yr old boys would have been able to look at it and say it's CRACKED and therefore it's BROKEN! (cuz they break all their toys b/c their parents don't want to sit down w/ them and play w/ them and show them how to play w/ their toys. i was told, yes they like to play w/ trains but we have to supervise them and we just donwanna. and- you gave them a nice toy and they destroyed it b4 we could show them how to play w/ it. (cuz you'd rather be on your laptop than play w/ your kid.)) it's not rocket science! you don't need a ph.d to tell what the problem is! wth! my dh is an alien!
and that's my kvetch for today.

i'm wanting to go back to the high volume store that had tons of crayola 70% off b/c the nearby store has zippo! but i have tons of stuff right now to give away. and last spring i gave bff's kids crayola 3d chalk and sidewalk paint so i can't give it to them again. well, maybe the kaleidoscope one but strangely that doesn't have any ratings on amazon. very undecided what i should do. i don't need it but when the time comes i will say i should have bought it.....but i really need to give away the stuff i have now b4 i buy more. i don't want to become a hoarder!!!

I skipped getting the side walk stuff. I have a ice cream bucket full of chalk that they never touch. I did pick up some art chandelier thingy. I have decide if I want to keep it or give it to one of the nieces.
what's good about crayola is that it's unisex so great stash for the gift closet and not so age specific. so 6+ can go from 5-9yrs old w/o and parents still happy w/ it. and i have other crayola stuff so it can bulk up a gift and really make a nice gift.
i do have chalk from summer mini-seasonal and dollar spot. crayola goes on clearance all the time. i should work thru what i have b4 buying more.
just thought you'd guys find this shocking and a bit funny. when i first saw the title of the email i was like wow! cheap! then i saw the price after discount and i was like- it's really pretty, so pretty you can leave it out on the counter, but still........even 50% off is it really worth paying that much money for something that does exactly what a $50 one will do? although the inner pot is aluminum so you could put it directly on the stove.

my sil's sil used to work for tod which is a really, really high end italian leather goods company. she told me she could get me tod bags for 50% off. but 50% off $1000 is still way more than i'd ever spend on a handbag!
