Stopped in deals to see all the great xmas clearance I'm missing, you gals are having too much fun LOL

I have had the flu and hope this one misses ya all , this is the first I've been out of bed in 8,yes eight days,
this is one nasty bug.

It just tickles me that flug is getting fancy with her soda in champagne cups, gotta take those small pleasures where ya can, and I bet that soda tastes better too.

Happy New Year All !!!!

drive by hi!

been busy making the xmas clearance shopping list .pdf in deals and reading, reading, reading. have wanted to go out the last 2 days to find the frames, pjs and scout the mens section but haven't been up to doing so. one person reported 90% off at a store that went sat which the nearest store to me did, so i will try to get out early today. i usually like to go in late afternoon when the younger people work or after dinner to leave the daylight hours to get things done around the house and leave shopping to when i'd probably be plopped in front of the tv wasting time anyway. but by the time evening rolls around haven't been up to going out.

Happy New Year TCC peeps!!! hug

I haven't been to Target yet this year! EEK! Been having the flu at first and then horrid migraines every single day. There is a very high pressure system over the area, that always gives me a headache but then since we live surrounded by mountains... We also have a inversion and red alert air Frown It is what happens when the high pressure system just sits on us and there is no air movement to get the pollution out from fire places, cars, etc. The surrounding mountains make walls and the inversion is the lid. It holds all that filthy air right down on top of us all.

Red air warnings mean they warn elderly and infants or anyone with respatory issues to stay inside. The air is so bad you can actually feel it in your lungs and smell it a little bit. It makes everyones in my house nose run like allergies and bad sinus pressure.

Staying inside 'might' really help if you have a newer home. Our home is fitted with the old swamp coolers and there are no air filters in this home. We breath the same air that is outside.

It is also below freezing most of the time so the moisture just freezes right out of the air, when you can see the sunlight it is actually kinda pretty to see the glittery effect of the moisture freezing and falling, makes the top layer of snow very sparkley.

I'm so tired of feeling sick and being tired! I am beyond sick of gut wrenching migraines! I want to feel good enough to pick up this house and get my coupons ready to shop a bit. I miss Target shopping but not the snarky cashiers.

I thought for sure I have missed the whole Christmas clearance I KNOW there will not be a single string of lights, that is what I really do need. Just about every single light string I used last year (from previous year clearance) did not work at all this year Mad LAME! I remember as a kid we had the same strings of lights for years and years and years! A bulb would go out and we would replace it and the whole thing worked again.

Now with these pieces of junk they just don't work at all and only lasted ONE Christmas, last year. The only ones that did work this year were ones that were still in the box from last year clearacne and the two lonely strings I got from Lowes a few yrs back when there was a $3 coupon for LED lights. Man how I wish I was able to get more of those. Frown

Thanks! That is my backyard, pergola, & pool. It is amazing in the summer, when everything is in bloom. Couldn't resist attaching a summer pic, after all, summer is coming.bounce
Wow! It is so beautiful!!!!!!!!!! I would want to take it if I moved as well.

Haven't been to the TCC thread for quite a while.. dropping in to say "Happy New Year" and pay tribute to some of my most favorite Target deals and memories:

1. Christmas TQs from 2007 or 2008 that kept giving
2. Choxie bars TQ $1 for free nasty candy
3. AF salsa..aka "spicy deal"
4. $10 Disney DVD peelies
5. Kellogs TQ
6. $10 bathroom TQ
7. $10 rug/carpet TQ
8. size 14 and 16
9. otto d duck -always made me laugh when posted
10. free papa john's peelie

sometimes I wonder what happened to some of the original Target posters who taught me the Target way..MamaRo was the first person to help me with a deal. Thanks to everyone and Happy New Year!!
I miss those GC deals when they were so new it was the fist one, like the first ever Pampers GC deal, that was insane!! Between the MQs, TQs, and GC TQ I had enough free diapers and wipes stocked I never bought a pack of diapers and now he is potty trained Whee Of course that was one GC deal that lasted a month too or I wouldn't have been able to stock up that much, I had a WALL of diapers & wipes in my basement!
Also the first Pantene GC deal, amazing! Between the MQs and TQs at the time it was a MM with each set.
Those Home Made Simple TQs rocked like nothing else!
The old toy coupons were the bomb diggity too, the very first ones before they ever put out the toy coupon books, amazing!

Thanks for the tips! I do have a TJ Maxx close. Never even thought of them.

Got a pharmacy coupon mailer recently, for what I remember as being the 1st time ever. (we don't get to use the $ off px coupons in my state, so I don't use the pharmacy). On black Friday, we checked out at the pharmacy. Didn't realize getting those coupons were tied to using those registers. I just assumed when you bought pharmacy area stuff, it applied. Apparently not. Maybe I should use the electronics registers more often too. Big Grin
I've checked out at the Pharmacy many times, still no $ off px coupons. We have all our scrips there and I usually buy a few things when picking up as well.

happy new yr! missed you!

sorry you've been sick and for the bad air. sucks! weren't you looking to move at one point?

sorry you haven't been to target. i think this yr was my biggest haul yet from 3 stores and i haven't been feeling well enough to go out again for the last 3 days to look for headphones, earbuds, pj's and go thru the mens section. i actually got some lights this yr. shelves were empty at 70% but when i went on saturday i asked the lady who was bringing out some cases of stuff and she brought out a few unopened cases. the cashier at another store we'd gone to friday night and they'd had boxes of green and dozens of blue mini string lights said they'd salvaged 2,000 sets. EEK!MadFrown but sounds like these days they are only worth the 90% off. i've been gradually trading in old lights for new LED's at home depot but held off on some nice old sets my mom bought long, long ago. think i will hold onto them. they are over 20 yrs old and still working.

Thanks, miss you too hug So glad you got some nice things. If I were you I would also keep the really old light sets. Not only for sentimental value but that they do not make them with the old quality that is made to last. Now days things are just throw away to keep us buying and buying. I do want to switch to all LED Christmas lights so keeping my fingers crossed for a good deal on them next yr. Just maybe they will put out another LED light coupon, I sure hope.

Yes still planning on moving and sooner now than later. It has just taken longer than we thought for DH to get things done here. We are planning a big road trip soon, or maybe me and the kids will get left behind because of school, but he has several serious job opportunities to explore in NV and CA. The hard part is deciding where to go for sure or which job to choose. He also has job connections in CO and Texas that are looking pretty good. I can't wait to get out of here!

Can't believe it is already a week into the new year and I haven't been in here at all. Real life has been crazy. been working tons of hours and trying to get back into some kind of routine around here. My DD Has one more week at home before she heads back to college. It has been great having her home Smilie Gonna hate to see her go back though!

I have managed to hit up the target Christmas clearance deals a few times.. Looks like toy clearance should be here soon!

Looks like I am going to get to take dd with me to toy clearance for the first time this year.....forgot dh is working on Thursdays now! Oh well, I mostly buy stuff for her cousins' bdays and Christmas gifts it seems like so shouldn't be horrible. I think I'm going to try a different store this year....last year my 'normal' store made everyone wait outside of the aisle of condensed toys being marked down until they were done and then by that time of course the masses had grown and it was hard to get around anywhere. No idea why.....this had always been a calm experience in which people were very courteous to one another in the past Dontknow I just want to get in and out though so hopefully the other store will be a bit better. Overall I'm going for nothing specific so I guess I can't be too disappointed in the selection huh? Stick Out Tongue
