Thanks for your fantastic contribution to this thread. The fact that you felt the need to make this statement is both relevant and interesting.

Lost's goodbye has expanded yet again, this time by 30 minutes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The drama's series finale will now run two-and-a-half hours. The episode, scheduled to air Sunday, May 23 at 9/8c, will push the local news back a half-hour, followed by the previously announced post-finale special, Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost, at 12:05 a.m.

Lost producers finish finale: "We're done. Amen."

This adds to the two-hour retrospective scheduled to air immediately before the series finale, at 7/6c, and ABC's planned rebroadcast of the 2004 pilot on Saturday, May 22.

News of the extra time comes one day after Lost executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof both tweeted that they had completed editing the final episode.

Are you excited for Lost's extra-long series finale?

Looks like iLocke/Flocke/Smocke really is evil. If Jack didn't throw him into the water, I assume he would've boarded the sub and taken Jack's backpack and toss it out? Or would he have changed his mind at the last second and tell everyone to go without him? Confused
Well first, I buy Jack's explaination of 'We did exactly what he wanted us to do' but if that were wrong and iLocke put the explosive in Jack's backpack he did so knowing that Jack did not want to board the sub and leave so the bomb would be left with Jack on the island to blow him and him alone up - 1) because iLocke cant leave any Losties on the island and be able to leave or 2) just because Jack didt listen to iLocke

Good point that if Jack did not leave the island and still had the backpack with him, then everyone on the sub, including iLocke would've gotten away.

But I don't think the bomb would've gone off if it were just Jack on the island. It probably would've malfunctioned since I don't think iLocke is allowed to kill Jack.

It's possible that they wanted the series finale to fall on the 23rd for symbolic reasons, with Jack Shephard's number being 23...
Iagree

I think Sayid told Jack when he ran off with the bomb that he was "going to be the one."

I think they're leading us to think that Jack is the replacement for Jacob.

My belief is that it wouldn't have. I believe that Jack was correct, the bomb would not have gone off had Sawyer not pulled the wires. Sawyer was the one who killed the people on the sub, but he would have been unable to die himself. "The rules", as we currently understand them, are as follows:

1. MIB can't kill Jacob.
2. MIB can't kill any of the candidates.
3. Candidates can't commit suicide.
4. Candidates can kill other candidates (assumed after last night's episode).

I guess that means you think that neither Sun nor Jin were "Kwon", the candidate?

Locke could've just killed the captain if it played out that way. I think Locke was planning to kill them off long before, when Sawyer took off with most of the candidates, which probably already cost Locke his original plan.

I think you misunderstood what I said. Sun/Jin were killed by Sawyer, not Locke. Thus the rules don't apply. I suppose you could argue that Jin killed himself, but Sun certainly did not.

There's also a theory floating around that Kwon is actually referring to Ji Yeon (their daughter), but I'm rather skeptical about that theory myself.

You said candidates can't kill each other. If Sawyer killed Sun/Jin, then what happened?

I think in the end, it's still going to be some purgatory thing and it's all one big game to Jacob/MIB or a test..and who ever is alive in the sideways that will become the "real" life anyways.Dontknow Sounds too simple, but I bet that's how it will be.

What I want to know is, where are Bernard and his wife on the island??? Confused

I said they CAN kill each other.

I think they died back in the 70's, they're the "Adam and Eve" skeletons in the cave by the waterfall from season 1.

Good point. Let's attribute it to the Hollywood effect, where they can make anything happen. laugh out loud
