The drama's series finale will now run two-and-a-half hours. The episode, scheduled to air Sunday, May 23 at 9/8c, will push the local news back a half-hour, followed by the previously announced post-finale special, Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost, at 12:05 a.m.
Lost producers finish finale: "We're done. Amen."
This adds to the two-hour retrospective scheduled to air immediately before the series finale, at 7/6c, and ABC's planned rebroadcast of the 2004 pilot on Saturday, May 22.
News of the extra time comes one day after Lost executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof both tweeted that they had completed editing the final episode.
Are you excited for Lost's extra-long series finale?
'Lost' finale expands by 30 minutes [cnn.com] (Yes, I see that Putts also posted a similar link. This makes it 2 links.
But I don't think the bomb would've gone off if it were just Jack on the island. It probably would've malfunctioned since I don't think iLocke is allowed to kill Jack.
I think Sayid told Jack when he ran off with the bomb that he was "going to be the one."

1. MIB can't kill Jacob.
2. MIB can't kill any of the candidates.
3. Candidates can't commit suicide.
4. Candidates can kill other candidates (assumed after last night's episode).

Good point that if Jack did not leave the island and still had the backpack with him, then everyone on the sub, including iLocke would've gotten away.

There's also a theory floating around that Kwon is actually referring to Ji Yeon (their daughter), but I'm rather skeptical about that theory myself.
