I'm convinced the real MIB is dead and Smokey took his appearance. Then when Locke's dead body was found, MIB took his appearance.

Oh, how the heck did Jacob and MIB's fake mother kill all those other people? Are we supposed to believe a woman who hadn't encountered other people could do that so easily to a group of people who were supposedly manipulative? Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

1 more episode to go until the grand finale, but I know we'll still have a bunch of unanswered questions. I liked one of the opening lines from yesterday's episode when the fake mother told the real mother for every question she answers, it'll introduce more questions. That accurately describes this show.

We can just call him Adam and his fake mother Eve. Stick Out Tongue
laugh out loud But that's a little gross at what that implies. At least it's not his real mother.

Since BIB was able to see his real mother (as a ghost) and Jacob couldn't, does that mean BIB was better than Jacob? But Jacob kept kicking his ass. Stick Out Tongue

I gotta say, I was very happy with last night's episode, although I wasn't a big fan of them showing archive footage of Jack/Kate/Locke discovering the bodies in the cave at the end. It's almost as if they thought that we were too stupid to draw the connection on our own, plus I felt that it broke the flow of the scene.
It was a flash-forward within a flashback. EEK! I'm also glad they showed that - which also shows how much Kate and Jack have aged over the years. EEK!

Dontknow i dont remember little details from episodes from a couple weeks back. i have too much going on in my head Whee
Same here! Embarrassment

What I got from this episode is that MIB has been Locke since the crash (pilot)- think about it. Flocke then finally gets to turn the donkey wheel instead of Ben, which he has wanted to do all along, but it is only Locke that gets off the island and not Smokie, so he comes up with another plan to kill Jacob and then all the candidates.

The other thing I believe is that the boy ghost of Jacob represents that Jacob actually died at this age. Whatever Jacob is after that isn't him...I have always believed there have been two smoke monsters.
I got that feeling too. The flaw is that Locke's body would have to be on the island somewhere, but somehow it ended up back on the mainland for Ilana to find and bring back implying he really did "die".

Quote from Putts :
You shouldn't have had to...they revisited the caves and mentioned the skeletons in this season's episode "Lighthouse".

I don't think that it was that critical of a plot detail that they needed to ensure that the audience drew the connection...they should have just allowed the observant fans to figure it out for themselves, and everybody else didn't really need to be reminded of it.
At first I thought that, but then I wasn't sure if they were trying to tell us something. Locke seemed rather stoic on the flashback, it made me think that maybe he was MIB already. But there're flaws in that theory, as mentioned above.

MIB being Locke since the pilot makes little sense with the conversations he had with Jack, IMO.

Incidentally... I decided a couple of years ago that the series would not answer all questions based on the fact that the title sequences brings the word "Lost" into focus for only a second, and even then you can't see the full word while it is in focus... at the last moment it blurs again as it moves past us. Almost as if to say you're not going to get both clarity and wholeness simultaneously.
Thats what makes this show so grand: the ability to interpret the story your way, without the writers really guiding you towards an end piece. This theory places more trust and intelligence on the viewers, which you do not see on television anywhere else.

Just watched it on Hulu. That's it? Waste of an episode.

It was a polarizing episode. Most will either love it or hate it. But I found it to be in-between. As far as flashbacks go, Richard's Ab Aterno was much better.

I remembered the bodies, but forgot about the bag with two rocks. Why did Jack hide it from Locke? What happened to that bag?

Whee Too much to wrap up with one hour left before the finale. They need to explain why the Dharma food drops are still happening, don't tell me they were dropped in 1980 and just now landed!, and bring The Hanso Foundation back into the story.

He's not really a factor anymore since he's dead. Maybe they may show a flashback w/ him next week or during the finale.
