I know that a number of you have recently been dealing with taking care of health problems in the family or
staying with loved ones in the hospital. My heart goes out to each of you heart and I hope you will receive the
best possible outcome. Comfort

I find myself in a similar situation at the moment and will be taking a family member to the hospital shortly.
Right now I'm a nervous wreck and I'm trying to figure out what to bring with me but I can't even think clearly.
Considering the way I already feel despite the fact that I'm not even at the hospital yet, I'm sure I will definitely
need a distraction.

If you have any recommendations, I'd appreciate you sharing them with me. Smilie Chances are that most of you
probably won't be awake before I leave though. I may try to bring a computer but I have no idea if I will be able
to access the internet at the hospital. It feels like I don't know anything right now; I feel like I'm a giant walking
question mark. Confused3 Then again, I know I am fortunate to have the ability to walk.

Teri, I hope you get to bring Joel home very soon. Pray

cali, hope everything is okay hug

Bring a mindless book to read and maybe some puzzle books or something. If you have your computer and a wifi connection, maybe occupy your time with a People of Walmart type site? Those are always good distractions.

Finally home for a small hospital break. Gathering up some laundry to do and have pizza crust going in the bread machine. Going to make 2 tonight and take some back to DS for dinner. One with gr. beef, pepperoni onions and peppers and a bacon chicken ranch yummy
Would you share your dough recipe. I just got a bread maker a few weeks ago and while it's pretty to look at, I would like to use it.

Hey, I got a jump start on tomorrow. I exercised. I took the dog for a short walk. To the gas station. Where I bought Smarties and Chocolate Donettes. They were frozen. I couldn't stop myself. I had to eat them before they thawed.
You could be our inspirational speaker in the diet forum!

i'm sure you guessed right. skynsam guessed right also. i wasn't being all that subtle about it. she wailed really long and loud in here too a couple wks ago. and a lurker who pm'd me asking how to make mpp's and then complained in the deal thread that regulars didn't want to help newbies who just wanted to learn followed her in here.

so if you don't here from me ever again, you know what happened.

that or i'm blind from all the pics you guys have been posting todayEEK!!
Is this the same dingy that I told off and then ended up with a warning?

I believe I will head off to bed. See you all in the morning. There will be coffee, but no doughnuts. And that damn scale. Guess I'll have to let it out from under the dresser.
Coffee..yum! I eat once a day but I have to have my coffee!

cali..I know this is a little to late, but in the event that you are needing to be at the hospital for a while. I brought my lap top and some discs to watch. (that was for the hospital room). For the emergency room, I brought magazines that I kept meaning to read. Hope all is well. Update when you can.

Good Morning my mean friends!!

Went to rite aid last night...went great!
Went to cvs...went great!
Went to target...ACK!!! The manager said I could use 1 target coupon for the whole order. Just 1, not 1 of each of the target coupons, just 1. I couldn't do multiple transactions..because I could only use 1 target coupon. I guess I looked at her weird, because she asked me if I understood. Of course I wanted to witchslap her, but I said..oh of course I understand, I'm just tired. They keep sending me in here to find out if you guys have gotten any better and of course you haven't, which means I gotta keep writing out the reports. Ya know..the witch said to me...good luck with that! Well if that didn't get my goose! So of course I needed to say something..so I said..well what bothers me the most is that I really like you and I hate being in a position that could cost someone there job, ya know?

Sort of like Intervention..have people really not caught on to the fact that they'll face an intervention? Seriously? Even if you're cracked out, those interviews should be a red flag.
I'm not sure. I don't really watch tv, more like listen to it half way. Usually on computer when tv is on.

My issue is eating things that are quick and easy and that means I eat the not-so-healthy things. I loooove fruits and veggies.

Why am I fat?I'm wondering?
Responses in red. I will pray for you because that is not normal. laugh out loud

Happy Monday morning to you all!! I'm enjoying my coffee, compliments of amazon.com's clearance sale and swagbucks. Big Grin And planning my grocery runs. RA seems to have so many deals this week, can't wrap my head around any particular scenario. Think I'll start with the boxes of diapers and go from there.

Hello! Happy Birthday to all TCCs today!

I guess I should be in the diet club? My weakness is eating past 7pm. I wish I had a time controlled lock on my fridge! I could be more active but I get exercise from chasing the kiddos around...plus, I am taking up kickboxing again starting Thursday...gotta get some frustrations out!! So, I am ready to jump on the bandwagon...can someone invite me to join?

Have you all tried the Jimmy Dean D-lights breakfast sandwiches...true, there are carbs in there but only 4 grams of fat and tons of protein. WE heart the turkey sausage, egg and cheese biscuits. yummy

Anyways, heading to some out of town stores today. Figure I would give my various Jedi cashiers a break! Big Grin

All those in the TCC Diet Club, check out the freebies forum..... TODAY Dr. Oz is kicking off his 2nd season and is offering a free "just 10" bracelet to promote the health effects of losing just 10 lbs. Here's the link (I hope) to the post over there.

Happy Monday! See it was good day to start the diet!

i think we should all keep a food journal/diary......... if you post, people could make suggestions as to lower carb substitutions and you(general) can try it and see if it works for you.
Very good idea. Do we want it in a separate thread or in chit chat?

In my family a pint is considered a single serving container.

Oh for heaven's sake people. I saw lots of suggestions for taking her laptop, books, etc. Not one person suggested a toothbrush, washrag, and plenty of clean undies!

Ok, so I'm up and here this morning -- with coffee. I do believe I will do the liquid fast for at least a day or two -- preferably three. We'll see.

I had previously promised my husband and daughter chimi's and what she calls stir fry for supper this week. I can do both low carb for me. I can use a low carb wrap for my chimi instead of a flour tortilla. I will just have to use a very little bit of the poblano cheese sauce since I am not making home made this time. I cheated and bought it from Carlos O'Kelly's. I don't eat the rice with stir fry anyway. I prefer mine with cream, sugar and cinnamon. Gee, I wonder why I'm fat Big Grin. Gotta try to think of something that I don't like but they do for supper the next couple nights. Hmmm, goulash will do one night. I hate it plus I have some deer meat to use in stuff with strong flavor like goulash, chili.

Ok, who was the pop addict? Can you switch to diet? Yeah, I know it's not that good for you either, but at least it isn't adding 10,000 calories a day. I never ever thought I could switch to diet. Then I tried a Diet Coke with Lime and it was pretty good. Now that's my drink of choice. Lot of the time I add my own lime. A&W Root Beer and Cream Soda are both excellent. I know a lot of non diet drinkers can't tell the difference with those two.

I also like club soda. No carbs, calories, no sweetener. You can use a dash of lemon or lime or not. At least you get the fizzy!

Gotta get dressed and head to town. It's paper day. Heidi (see my avatar) usually goes with unless I'm going to be in the grocery store too long for the day's temperatures. I was thinking about talking her downtown and walking up and down for a while. I haven't had her out to expose her to more people and movement for a while. Course, there might not be anybody out and about downtown either. Either way, it's exercise for me.

Another good alternative to soda is club soda with a bit of juice mixed in. Just enough to add flavor.

So gt, when you are on your liquid fast, do you put creamer in your coffee or drink it black? I think I could *almost* do this, IF I was able to doctor my coffee like I want it...

This is me too! I have been trying REALLY hard not to do this and so far so good but I still feel like I should be snacking later at night and I wake up soooo hungry in the morning. My body is just so used to it.

I am not even going to attempt extra exercising until I get the eating thing down...one thing at a time. I have a wii fit, now I wish I had a space that was truly big enough to use it. We also have My Fitness Coach and the Biggest Loser game for Wii - both of which are good. I am contemplating mall walking. I am thinking my dd would tolerate being in the stroller, we could get out of the house for a bit, and we could do it even in the winter. We don't have the best conditions outside for walking....lots of traffic, poorly maintained sidewalks, lots of intersection construction projects that have closed the sidewalks at that, etc. and just generally not the best area. Also contemplating that 30 day shred video but I am wondering if it would just be too much for me.
