AMC's The Walking Dead [Spoilers!]

Did you watch?
For a show on a non premium cable channel, I thought it was very good. I never read the comic, so I don't know how it compares, but I'll be watching every Sunday. pisses me off that I don't get AMC in HD though.

I do not know a single person IRL that has read them, but I know maybe 10-15 people that watch the show.
Look up the numbers...they sell about 350,000 copies of the comics [comicsreporter.com] and the TV show averaged 13.3 million adults [hollywoodreporter.com].

I don't normally get THAT crazy about continuity but this one was TERRIBLE! It took Maggie like 4 hours to get inside the jail to help out Hershel. Because it was light out when she heard the shot and pitch black when she got to the door. Also, as Hershel was walking around it would go from lights in every cell to pitch black to lights everywhere to pitch black.
And what is the point in closing the doors to the cells if they can just open them up no problem?
And that little girl is FARKED UP (Lindsey?) The foot in the blood...the zombie pet...she is just cracked in the head. Plus they later said a fact about the actress and she was once scared of zombies but now she wants to play hide and seek with the zombies in full makeup. Seriously, that girl is messed up in the mind.
And onto the Talking Dead. Adam said their sticks holding up the fence was a terrible idea and he would have used the principals of triangulation... Wasn't that what they were doing? Obviously welded steel would have been better though...but I don't think they'd have the power to run a welder.
And the drunk being part of The Govna's crew would be a crazy neat path for them to take.

Another thing about last week - the double doors at the vet school swung out when they were trapped in that room. Why didn't they just pull them closed behind them?
I think that the continuity was correct for the jail cell doors, though. The one woman had turned, and Herschel hadn't closed her door because he had to pass her to revive Sasha. The guy staying with his buddy was closed in, but opened the door to fire his gun, allowing his buddy to escape and bite him. The one that turned while Glenn was breathing him didn't have the door closed, so that is still correct.. am I missing any?
The triangulation idea that he was talking about is somewhat what they were trying to accomplish, however they didn't account for lateral forces on the middle of the sticks. If they had taken a shorter stick at the base of the fence, and ran it perpendicular into the center of the large stick, that would've (if done correctly) alleviated the buckling that led to the collapse, but it wouldn't have held forever.
Lizzie is nuts, but she did save Glenn. Yeah, the whole toeing the crap that he spit up was really, really weird. No idea why they did that. Anyone read the comics? She might tie into one of the plot lines there.
Finally - 'ello guv'nah. In the novels, Bob is a part of his crew, so I can definitely see that panning out. However, Bob is pretty unreliable, as we can gather by his behavior thus far, so I think he's kind of a wildcard. I wonder if he was part of the Woodbury crew, and watched everyone get killed, and was the only survivor. That would tie into what he told Daryl, about being the only one left from his previous group?

To the keeping doors closed at all times, that came up when they first got to the prison.. it feels more like a "home" (as much as it can) if the doors are open, rather than being locked in like convicts. I don't know.. maybe the sick would feel less like inevitable threats than ill patients. I think I'd probably be closing my own door, but if Herschel is doing the rounds and needs to check on that many people, it would take extra time to open and close each door.
Jail cells like that should be central locking, so that the guards can flip a switch (probably in that observation room that Herschel lured the walkers into) that locks all cells, closes all the doors, etc, mechanically. I can't imagine there's electricity involved, in the event of a power failure all the inmates could escape.. I'd love to know how they work, that's just my guess.
My bike brings all the zombies to the yard, that's right, it's better than yours, that's right, it's better than yours....
Of course I still think those 2 guys weren't very bright. Thinking back to when we last saw them, last season... They are standing there, armed, while the Governor gunned down the rest of the group and then just hop into the truck and ride off like nothing happened. If I had been one of those guys, I would have shot the Governor. If he would kill everyone else, for no real good reason, I would assume I could be next.
