AMC's The Walking Dead [Spoilers!]

Did you watch?
For a show on a non premium cable channel, I thought it was very good. I never read the comic, so I don't know how it compares, but I'll be watching every Sunday. pisses me off that I don't get AMC in HD though.

If the writers are smart (and we already know the answer to that), they wouldn't kill him off at all. In the final episode, I'd have everyone killed off EXCEPT Daryl. I would write a fight-of-your-life scene with more walkers than we have ever seen and have Daryl try to save as many people from the group as he can, but in the end, he can't save anyone. Not even Judith. He barely makes it out alive and on his way into the woods, looks back once at the carnage and says "I guess I was the only zen one", smiles a sexy smile at the camera, and then disappears into the woods.
I could live with that.

1. Daryl does not exist in the comics. Period. He is pretty much on borrowed time no matter how much of a fan favorite he is, they can cut him out and the comics storyline would not be different.
2. Why does everyone think Daryl is the one getting the axe? It terrifies me to think about this, but if you're going to "need Kleenex and be screaming at your television," I think that it Carol could be the one to go. Ugh. Please don't do it AMC. I know she
As for the actual length of the show, it can go for quite a long time, but for the sake of the show not burning out, I hope they have a specific end in mind for this group of survivors. As long as they can keep it interesting, I'm up for watching. Kirkman kinda holds the keys to the car, since he has the comics churning along and can temper the show accordingly, adding elements that don't exist in the comics, like the hospital, the virus, etc., and there's still some MAJOR, MAJOR things they haven't gotten to in the comics, so I can't see it ending for at least 2+ years.
As soon as they kill off Daryl, TWD is history. Rick might be the intended "star", but Daryl has been bringing the fans back since season 2 and the hunt for Sophia.

I agree, this show will run until the ratings start to slip then they will end it gracefully on a big bang.
The Buttons scene was a sad one.
The Daryl exposure was great and helped give him more human moments.
Rick started to give me this ominous feeling of The Gov there for a bit too tonight.
Carol, Carol, Carol, what the deuce, you're now the scary old lady down the street with like a bazillion cats or at least one kid seems to think so
It was a fun episode in a lot of ways tonight.

I was hoping she would wip out that chocolate bar and play it off like it was nothing.
I mean, if the town turns out to really be a good thing for the group she is going to have a pretty tainted relationship with the little boy going forward that will become harder and harder to explain as time passes.
