Well guess what, that's the parents fault. If the parents taught the kids to drive well and safe, and not think "they'll learn on their own", there wouldn't be so many teen accidents.
If I had the means, I'd buy my hypothetical kids brand new cars when they're newly-licensed, BUT I'd make sure they know how to drive them before I let them out in the car on their own (or worse with friends)...
I have a soft countdown going for our 16-y.o., rising HS senior, but I am fearful for him leaving. I am more fearful for the general public.

It doesn't happen too often anymore but I have to agree with Max on this one.
Everything that happens is usually the parents fault.
And hopefully i'll raise them not to ever buy a brand new car.
Buy a nice used one with cash.

Lately we have been on opposite sides of most the discussions. It's just a bad streak. Don't take it personally.

For a total price of $30,000 the car's sticker price is going to be around $25,000. They wouldn't exactly be getting a new Ferrari here.
And who said anything about canada... dirty canadians...
Our most expensive car was 7k and it's pretty nice.
Guess it's just our ways of thinking.

Bigger city = higher cost of living = higher salaries

Everything north of Westchester is Canada . Everyone knows that New York ends at the Westchester\Canada border.
