People in the Mid-West/North-East...are you ready to shovel/de-ice again? *New storm coming Tuesday 2/1 into Wednesday 2/2*

I can't believe it....first major snow storm this year for the area and it's going to be a blizzard! we only had 1 snowfall earlier in the month and it was only about 2 inches.

a few days ago I checked weather.com and it only said snow showers for sunday & monday and now there is a blizzard warning and expecting 11-16 inches of snow. what a dramatic change.

I love snow so I am excited. (except when I have to drive....lol)

Do you love or hate snow?

Worst part about snow like that is having to shovel off the ponds to play hockey...

I went back to A ustin too early. Should have stayed all this week, but the sacrifice is worth it for the extra cash from holiday pay.

meh, I heard it's not that bad up there. I mean sure, a few friends had to sleep in their cars on the highway because they got stuck, a few friends couldn't get into their communities, one friend lost his car (it was buried to the roof in snow), someone got stuck in the train for 6 hours, etc.

But really, it could be worse Tomato

That's doesn't look 1/2 as bad as some of the pics I've seen. I wouldn't be complaining laugh out loud

Noob. What we do here in LA is to use a flame thrower. But we don't have snow here.

Man, I wanted to go skiing while I was up there. Just wasn't enough time. Frown I'm seriously considering a trip up in February to do it though.

That tends to melt the ice though. laugh out loud

Later in the winter when the ice is thick enough, we can just drive a small truck with a plow out there and plow the ponds clear.

Nah, last year when the blizzard hit us, the next day my friends and I drove out to go skiing.

Given it took me 4+ hours to dig out my car on the previous day laugh out loud

AWD + lots of time and patience = awesome time at the slopes Whee

Of course it could be worse....duh... "fun for me" really isn't complaining much. If my house was burning or my neighborhood was flooding, then I'd be complaining nod

Why go back to MA to go skiing, you live in Texas now, just fly up to Utah or Colorado and have the time of your life Dontknow

Austin, TX? laugh out loud

Or do you mean in MA? In MA, I used to live in the North Shore area. Newburyport-ish.

yeah, but family and friends all live back in MA. Would be hard to organize something like that out in CO or Utah, but that is definitely a thought if we can find cheap enough flights.
