Egg Rolls

1/2 head cabbage
1/2 lb. or 1 lb. can bean sprouts, drained
7 oz. pkg. sliced almonds
1 small can bamboo shoots, drained
1 bunch chopped green onions
1/2 white onion, chopped
1/2 cup celery, chopped
4-5 chicken breasts (boiled & diced)
2 pkg. egg rolls
1 egg (beat egg for corners)

Cook all veggies together on low until tender.
Add cooked, diced chicken. Spoon into wraps & fry.

Sweet & Sour Sauce

1/2 cup vinegar
4 t cornstarch
4 t soy sauce
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
2 large cans pineapple chunks
2 bell peppers (cut in chunks)
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tsp. salt

Cook all together then add pineapple and bell peppers.
Keep warm on low heat until ready to use. Can add
cornstarch to thicken if necessary.

---
The sweet & sour sauce can be used for the egg rolls, or to make Sweet & Sour: Chicken, Shrimp, Pork etc.

2 pounds chuck steak
4 cloves of garlic ( skin)
2 cups water
1 whole (yellow) onion cut into round pieces
1 box of mushrooms (cut into fairly good size pieces)
2 tea spoon of olive oil
1 can beef broth
1 bay leaf
pack of Egg Noodles (as much as you want to make)
1 table spoon corn starch

Put olive oil in pot, saute meat till little browned, add onions, mushrooms, and garlic till lightly cooked. Add broth, and bay leaf close lid and pressure cook for about 20 min or until meat is to desired tenderness (you can always turn off heat and open pressure cooker to check meat). In another pot add water salt and a teaspoon of olive oil boil and cook noodles. When meat is done strain noodles and add alittle of the liquid from the meat into the noodles so they wont stick together. now a teaspoon of water in a cup and add a tablespoon of cornstarch mix so that the top if mixture is liquicy and bottom is thick in the same cup add some broth from the meat. boil the meat mixture with top off the pot and add corn starch mix while boiling to make a gravy from the liquid. repeat if necessary or to desired thickness.
Now its ready to serve, put noodles in a plate than add gravy, than put some parmessan cheese (powder) if you like and the meat on the side.

I made this tonight and it came out great, i got the recipe from my mom and called it my own on slickdeals. came out great try it and tell me what you all think. thank you.

this is my brother's chili recipe that I've made twice now in the last month or so. Considering I don't usually like meat that's a high compliment from me. I use ground serloin in mine.
BRO MIKES FAMOUS CHILI

Makes about 3 4 servings, depending on how much you spill

INGREDIENTS:
* 2 -3 Tbs cooking oil (olive preferred)
* 2 -3 cloves garlic - minced (optional)
* 1 medium onion sweet/yellow or red chopped
* Half of a green pepper chopped (can freeze other half for next time)
* 1 packet (1.25 oz) chili seasoning
* 1 lb. ground beef
* 2 cans (16 oz) kidney beans drained
* 1 can (28-32 oz) whole tomatoes
* 1 bay leaf (optional)
* 1 Tbs salt (kosher preferred) (optional)
* 1 12 oz beer (optional can add to chili, or just drink while cooking)

1. Drain liquid from kidney beans and add to large cooking pot (dont turn on heat yet).
2. Add in tomatoes (do not drain) use fork to break open whole tomatoes - - cooking apron & goggles recommended .
3. In a separate fry pan or skillet, fry minced garlic in cooking oil on medhigh heat until slightly brown.
4. Add in and fry most of the chopped green pepper (toss some of the raw peppers directly in the chili pot)
5. Add in and fry most of the chopped onion (yes, toss a bit of the un-fried chopped onions in the chili pot too gives it a little crunch).
6. Saut onions on medium heat until caramelized (can cover pan if youre starting to cry), then add the fried mixture to the chili pot.
7. Brown ground beef in same skillet / fry pan.
8. Drain off grease, and then stir in chili seasoning. (Add a splash of oil if needed to mix in seasoning)
9. Add the browned meat to your chili fixings in the pot.
10. Stir mixture together in pot, add bay leaf, salt, beer or water, and any other seasoning youre trying to get rid of, and set heat to high (thats right).
11. Bring your creation to a near boil, stirring frequently, and then turn down heat to a low simmer.
12. Cover pot and stir occasionally simmer at least one hour, longer if the game is on.
13. Before serving, fish out the bay leaf (so no one chokes).
14. Serve with favorite cold beverage - bon appetite baby.

about 30 minutes to get it all in the pot and ready to simmer for the hour. I think I let it simmer about 40 minutes though last time, I was watching something, and it was perfect. I shared some at work and froze some since I made a double batch both times. Oh and since I know his favorite beer is Labatts that's what I used too...and I'm not a beer drinker.

yeah...that sounds about right.
and if you like spicy and don't mind a kind of high salt content you should try my spicy vegtable barley soup I posted here a while back... it has jalapenos in it, the broth is just juice from the same jars (as the jalapenos) and hot and spicy V-8. if you use enough jalapenos it will clear your sinuses Smilie

Can some one post me a real nice tried and tested French Toast recipe please?

The one I make is as follows:
6 Slices of Bread
4 Eggs
1/4 cup milk
Sugar

Beat Eggs and Milk
Add sugar (as per your liking)
Pour contents in a shallow plate
Dip a slice of bread in the plate
turn the bread around and dip it again until bread is nicely soaked
Place the bread on a greased non stick heated pan
Fry on medium heat until done
Remove from pan and place on a plate
Sprinkle Sugar on top of it

EAaaaaaaaaat

The above is the only way I've been making french toast. Can someone suggest better ways/variations to it? I read some place where they bake it an oven, etc....

Thanks!!!

Hi pig... I usually put a little vanilla extract in the batter... but then I don't use the powdered sugar like most people do on top... and often I just use butter or margerine and no syrup...which most people put on theirs. I made a giant batch at work (for about 12 people..including hungry mechanics and picky women) and they all loved it. For them I supplied the sugar and syrup though.

I always sprinkle Cinnamon on the top side before flipping the first time. I don't add sugar either.

Any suggestion on the bread to use for it? The bread I generally use gets real soggy at times
