State officials are investigating why thousands of fish washed up dead on the shores of the Arkansas River last week.
Officials are expected to release their estimate of the total number of dead fish Monday, local NBC station KARK 4 News reported. It is likely to be in the hundreds of thousands.
The fish were found Thursday by a tugboat operator along a 20-mile stretch of the Arkansas River near the city of Ozark.

the creepy thing is that they died hitting something. Am I the only one who wonders how almost 6000 birds (in 4 states) ran into windows at the same time? I hope there is a good answer, and not something dumb like tick disease.
