I have no problem with expensive designer bags(although my most complemented purse was a small leather no brand bag that I bought for $10 and used every single day for more than 10 years and still wish I had fixed instead of throwing out) but in the range of several hundred dollars most are made in China and the markup is crazy. For that amount of money I can go have a purse made in a leather shop right in the town I live in. Right now I'm using a bag with a 'lifetime guarantee'(not Coach that's so last century) and I still look at it as made in China crap.

You should be able to find something nice from a brand like Tory Burch, Kate Spade, or Marc by Marc Jacobs. Marc Jacobs has a higher end line called just Marc Jacobs so don't let that confuse you. I'd pre-shop on some of the sites I mentioned. I order a lot from Blooomingdales. They have really good sales and promo codes sometimes. Happy Shopping Whee!
