hi all! did not make it to T today.
did make it to grocery store, walgreens and CVS. easy breezy beautiful. Big Grin
except for the part where i bought milk from store, got home, found it was bad. took it to store to return and spilt bad milk on my dress, on the car rug and the driver's seat. Yuk

used some antibacterial wet ones to wipe off the spoiled milk. went into store. came back out and got into car, only to find the car smells like fermenting manure. vomit

sprayed shout on the seat and floor (i had a bottle in the car from my T runs laugh out loud ) and the mix of the smell of shout, wet ones and rotten milk just made it even more yuk.

so then came home and sprayed oust in the car and opened a box of baking soda and put in car. i pray in the name of all that is holy that the smell is gone in the am.

I read on Deals that the scanner/price checker no longer shows GC deals when you scan an item. I tried it tonight on the Buy 5 Klondike and get a 5 GC. It did not show on the scanner/price checker but did get the GC when I checked out. What is up with that? They want us to be unsure.............
my stores don't have the new scanner/checker. however, i learned that if you find one of the reds with the handheld ones that have a gazillion buttons on them, as opposed to the scaled-back handheld ones (help LTL, i sound so uneducated! laugh out loud ) they can look up any special linked to the item, including the GC deals.

I had a crappyish YS at the little corner YS plot - ended up bringing home a new family member, a baby brother for Hercules the Great Dane. His name is Philocletes and he is a teeny tiny Chi-wawa (should prob learn how to spell that now)
Anywho, My FIL rents an Apt in a Commercial building and he offered me his front room (it is currently houseing a big double shot indoor basketball hoop thingy I got a T 75% last year and a big blow up pool with balls in it.) to have permenitally set up my sale stuff in, and have peeps come in to the unit.

I know this has been disussed before but I am tring to avoid being a business - how exactly do I do that. Are there concrete rules? IIRC something like only a certain # of sales per year, and the items have to be priced less than retail or less than I paid for them???? If I technically had to set up as a business I could then claim his rent as a deduction and it would be a loss for the X amount of years able to claim a loss in a business in the taxes thingy so really it would ust be more work w/ the bookkeeping etc. No?

I mean it is his apt, It doesnt seem to different than you lucky girls with the fancy garages, right?
holy greek mythology! LMAO
congratulations on your new chihuahua!
how often you can sell, and the rules of whether/when a place is considered a place of business and the taxes you have to pay on that etc vary from state to state and additionally city to city. i would recommend actually calling your community's permitting department and asking kind of casually, you know if i have a garage sale, but just have it indoors at my father-in-law's place, since i don't have a garage, would that still be okay and what rules/limitations am i subject to. there are lots of variations across communities and states when it comes to stuff like this.

Quote from ank220 :
I've heard a lot of folks have been having this problem with their subs. Supposedly SD is trying to figure it out, but it's been going on for months. Sorry!
Quote from mama2cole :
What's really bad is when I don't realize it right away and then 3 days pass and I think, damn, I'm sure someone has posted SOMETHING in the deals thread. Ugh.
it is super annoying. and m2c, just like you when i've lost the subscriptions, i sometimes don't realize for a few days. irritating. and really defeats the purpose of having running deals threads.
i have been complaining about this to SD for months. first they said it was likely because threads would get merged and the thread ID would change. but nope, it was happening even in threads where there were no mergers. then they said it was because thread ids were changing whenever there was any action by a mod, in terms of deleting posts, or merging posts or such. nope. this was happening even in threads without mod actions. and it happened repeatedly. after several complaints about it happening to me, it seems to have finally stopped for me. but my own theory is that the user's master subscription file gets corrupted. so certain threads in the subscription list are unreadable and don't appear.

in the site questions, issues or suggestions forum, someone has started a thread yet again for this problem. anyone encountering the problem, it might be worth posting there. cos the more complaints they get, the more clues they have to troubleshoot. and plus also the realization that this is an ongoing problem for a wide swath of people.

setsail. I think that article is right about the more casual coupon users, which I would assume is most out there ('oh hey, I like Tide and here's a Tide coupon and I can toss the rest now").

OH GT, forgot to say - i'm like you on the teflon business. eliminated all nonstick pans etc from the kitchen. i will not use them given the health concerns. we grew up using cast iron griddles on gas burners. i was just looking at one at T the other day.

but found this electric one [kitchenkrafts.com]... i'm sure you can find these cheaper elsewhere
searching for lefse aluminum electric griddle brings up several sellers on google.

There was no one particular post with low oop, there were just several scattered over the past three weeks. I just kept wondering, why would you put yourself out there like that? Paying $1.88 and walking out with two bags of stuff? Of COURSE they're going to remember you when you come back, and they're going to watch you like a hawk - even if you haven't done anything wrong, you're still on the radar then.

I was just curious if I was the only one who felt like this usually ends up getting you unwanted attention. I KNOW my store would be alllllll over me if I did that.. and I would be scrutinized and picked over with every single shopping trip.

And TRC, where on earth are you?? EEK! I usually see you poke your head in to check on things, but you've vanished!

Work kicked my ass tonight and I only worked 5 hours. However, I went to kohl's around 9 and had to buy new work clothes while there because I was almost late. Didn't have time to run home and change. Whew. So about 8 hours of Kohl's and 5 hours of work and I am totally beat.

Saw more coupon users tonight than I did the last 2 times I worked. Kinda nice to see it. That damn b3g3 free renuzit coupon is a PITA. It says INF and when I K1 it takes off 0.00. SO.. I just manually entered it for the max value on the coupon with was 8.98. Evil

That's what I was trained to do......

getgreen, ewww on the spoiled milk. Hope the smell comes out

mamaoftwins, hug

dreeme, I literally Stress when I saw it was a 00. Same with a Hungry Jack tearpad I found at a local grocery store. I was so excited because it doesn't expire until 6/11, then I saw the 00. Covereyes

dazzled, I tried to find the garage sale info for my city via Google and it wasn't very helpful. No one in the HOA has said anything, unlike poor dreeme, so I will continue until they do say something.

If it's not gone in the morning, soak the spot with white vinegar. You can spray with water/vinegar mix if you want, but it will be more effective if it's straight vinegar. Leave windows open until it's good and dry. If it smells overly vinegary after a day or two, spray the spot with water, then pour baking soda on the wet spot and leave set until dry (don't rub it in or anything - the baking soda will pull up the liquid all by itself.) Vacuum up and it should be good to go.

Works pretty good on vomit and diarrhea in the car too...

That's what I figure. I want to post something like "if you spend more with coupons, you aren't doing it right!"

About 6 mos after I started couponing, DH remarked how he opened the cupboards/fridge, etc... and instead of all the generic stuff we used to get, it's all name brand. I so RARELY buy store or generic stuff - and that's only when there's a store q that makes it free/cheap or for some reason I let my stockpile run out and I don't have q's. There are also occasional things I buy because I actually like the store brand vs. regular brand (I like WM potato chips because they are super salty - so if I'm there and get a hankering for chips - I get those...)

Oh - and our grocery budget is less than 50% of what we used to spend when buying generics - and we've added 2 kids and a dog since then!!!

Yeah... I've noticed that trend for a while now. It's even in the Kroger thread. The low oops and 5 or more transactions back to back... oy. Makes me worried there will be even more cracking down on stuff!

Woo! Just got back from CVS and the cranky girl wasn't working. Whee Had a nice (cute) guy and we chatted about Publix and Target coupons, hehe.

But that store seriously needs to get their act together with ordering. Doesn't help me to have RCs if the coupons are going to expire soon. Grr....

thanks for the vinegar/bsoda tip! will have to memorize that one.
i'm right there with you on sleep schedule/hunger. albeit my sleep schedule has always been somewhat screwy courtesy of lifelong insomnia. but it has gotten particularly nutty of late. and the less sleep you get, the hungrier you get at night, cos your body craves carbs to offset the exhaustion. ugh.

i've cut down our grocery budget significantly, too, ever since starting with qs late last year. and all the while we've been making a full switchover to organics, but even despite that, it's a big, big, big difference. for which i am very grateful because we wouldn't have managed things otherwise.

speaking of hunger and groceries by the way... found boxes of bear naked granola cookies in double chocolate chip at grocery store today. they had 1/1 peelies on em. taste great. they're not exactly low-fat or low-carb - 130 calories each, 5g of fat, 11g sugars - but a small pc of one cookie suffices cos it's so flavorful. i had a quarter of a cookie as a post-dinner treat. woot

Hello to all!! Gonna be a quick one tonight cause I am beat..

Congrats on the weight loss TN - 5 pounds is great Smilie

Dreeme - I want to come to your stores....

Went to TRU and got in on the awesome Beauty and the Beast Deal.. 2 blurays combos, 2 preorder credits for TS3 (5.00) and a nice Belle Tea cart ( it was much nicer than I thought.. 24.99 price tag).. All for 18.00. My DH said after we subtracted the preorder money for the TS3 , each movie cost us 4.00.. plus we got the free tea cart. I was very happy. Went to 2 targets and bought nothing.. I was looking for the clearance freezer, but I missed out Frown
Went to 2 Kohls and managed to use 8 coupons.. still had 7 more that I never used, but oh well.. I got more kcups, socks for my toddler, a bra for me, and my DD a bracelet.
Then hit CVS for more free candy and snacks!

All in all, a great shopping day.. After a long evening, I am ready for bed!

Goodnight!

Huge favor to ask- if anyone sees this Tonka Railway, I would love to know where!

http://www.hasbro.com/shop/detail...src=endeca

I never saw this at all around here because if I had, I would have bought about anything that is a train. Supposedly was available last year? Only place I can find it now is eBay ($39 plus shipping) and Amazon sellers ($42 plus shipping). For a toy that was originally $20. Frown

Ok I'm tired and can't remember did u have rthe blue fiberglass tub or the cast iron tub? either way its around $200 to refinish any standard size tub(of course the price can very) , now if you have a fiberglass enclosure with walls then that can be more like $400, or more. You wanna find somebody who had experience, and a warranty.

I don't see how anyone manages that I always end up grabbing things I need as well like milk or bread etc. And I usually always spend 20 bucks or so, usually on my redcard then I pay it off on payday. But I can't seem to keep my oop low at target because there's always something else that I need while I'm there.

I haven't been to target much this week dd bday kinda broke my budget so I gotta cut back for awhile.
