In that case go for the Sumatran Reserve k-cup and then you can make it stronger or weaker by adjusting the setting of the cup size.

If you remember during the last Sobe deal there was a Master A$$hat in deals that was bragging about using 50-60 TQs at a time. He shops at a store MOT2 and I sometimes use that has always been VERY Q friendly. Well, my last 2 visits there I've gotten the 1 TQ per tranny speech. Can't imagine why? Farking idiots.
my feeling is that 1tq per tranny is rolling out just like an update. i see it being posted quite a bit and has hit my 3 closest stores so it's obviously here it's a district or regional directive, not just one LOD or store mgr deciding to enforce the rules.

sorry things aren't going right, right now. it's just a rough patch. it will get better.

Price matching at T question. Last time I did this ONLY the service desk could do it. Really don't want the scrutiny of my receipt at the service desk, so can the cashier do it?
think it depends on the store. closest one will only do it at CS. high volume store cashiers can do it.

pls don't take this the wrong way. i would only do this if you are willing to buy them kcups forever after. from what you've shared, the finances are really tight for everyone right now and if you have to work some magic to buy it, maybe now is not the right time since a purchase like that has high operating costs.

As long as I don't get crap for my coupons, I'll gladly stick with 1 per trans!

Definitely not taken the wrong way. My parents are only really light coffee drinkers, maybe once a week, which is why I thought it might be good for them. And if they keep sending out the $5 coupons, I could stock them up for very little (or nothing, if I did it right). My parents are pretty simple people and unless I have fantastic coupons, nobody is getting a thing for Christmas (unless they want Chef Boyardee and Colgate toothbrushes). I feel horrible that I can't give anything to my parents, especially now that they're losing everything.

a lot of those newbies were only here for free stuff. and as much as they could get. and i don't care what you say, unless you are reselling them, nobody, not even the duggars would buy 40 of the same/similar shirts in different colors b/c they would only fit a few people, even in that family of 19 kids and 2 parents. usually when it's 75% off it's the xs, s, xxl, xxxl sizes left, of which, not that many people fit. so really, who could you be gifting them to and how many would you be giving to one person at a time? usually they come in maybe 3-4 color ways so you can't give somebody more than 4 shirts at a time. and who gives a gift of the same/similar shirts in 4 different colors? you maybe give 2 shirts. that means you are gifting to 10-20 men in your circle? must be gifting to the office or the sports team and not basketball either, but again, i'm sure the sizing would be difficult so i still call resale.

*snip*
Not starting a fight, but just want to offer another explanation as to why someone would buy multiples of the same item.

I donate to 2 non-profit organizations and I try to get as many items as possible for as low as price as possible, not necessarily free. The lower the price, the more clients of the organizations can benefit.

Your example of the 40 shirts [I wish I could get 40 shirts!laugh out loud] :

I would never try to get 40 at one time like that idiot that posted about the C9 shirts a while back. I hit multiple stores, multiple days over the lifetime of the coupon/clearance. I get whatever sizes are available. The clients are extremely grateful for a shirt, even if it is too big. A too big shirt is better than no shirt. Also, a woman can easily wear a man's shirt, so that expands the possible users of a shirt.

All my pans are stainless too. And they aren't the $1,000+ pans either. My pressure cooker is now even stainless steel. Best cooking thing I ever did was learn to use a pressure cooker.

I want a cigarette. Kind of really bad. I haven't had one in 3 or 4 years. Can't remember which year it was I quit but it was the first week of October. And all of a sudden right now I want one. Huh.

If you need paper to print Qs on, check out Staples this week. $1 per 500 pgs via easy rebate (never done this, so I don't know how EASY it might be). Pg 12 of the Staples ad.

yep, as bargainscout said... super easy. however tn, everytime staples has these paper deals (and they have them often) there are threads posting scenarios so that the paper is free after rebates and qs. that's what I do. always work the scenarios. AND, you want to build up some ink recycling rewards so that you can use the rewards to pay for the paper and then get it back in rebates. Big Grin

yeppers, ditto. got stainless and also some hard-anodized aluminum. i was skeptical of getting aluminum to cook food in, cos again i have reservations about that. but because it is hard anodized, it doesn't leach into food. and i use those for more non-stick applications. for anyone looking to do either of those - i got a killer deal on the stainless steel set at macy's earlier in the year. and the anodized one at smartbargains. cookware is not cheap by any means, but if you shop the big sales and combine with store coupons you can come away doing well.
gave away all the plastic cooking utensils also. i now have stainless steel serving spoons, ladles etc and several different wooden spoons for cooking. got them at T with different overage, or as padding/filler items on low oop transactions.
ditto colanders - all steel.
my final kitchen transition is getting freezer safe glass storage containers. i do not like using plastic for my food.

you are already giving them the very best present - your unconditional, undjudgmental love and support. all the money, coupons and sales cannot buy that. and in any case, in the midst of all this housing transition, the last thing they probably need is even more stuff to unwrap and keep and lug.
i know what you mean about feeling bad though. we're so conditioned to give gifts for christmas, that it's hard not to feel terrible when you can't. you could always do what some families do - make a little picture scrapbook, or write a note for each of your parents about something they have done for you/taught you that you cherish. write it nicely on some nice paper, or with a photo and then they can frame it later.

We're an emotional family (very huggy), but not good at shourlhasbeenblockeds through sentimental stuff (if that makes sense). We've always shown affection through "stuff".

I guess I just feel bad that I'm having to move back in with them now (yeah, I'll admit it. I'm moving back in with my parents). I feel like a f up, they feel like failures...we're a mess (but at least we'll all be a mess together!) My couponing right now serves the sole purpose of providing necessities and if I could manage a luxury in there, great. I guess that was my reasoning, but I don't know. But perhaps you're right- the Keurig would be one more thing to have around. Maybe by the holidays, things will turn around.

Thanks all for kind words. Sorry if I've been a bummer lately.

Looking ahead to next weeks Walgreens ad, where Breathe right 26-30 ct is 9.99 in the ad. There's still the $2.50/1 26+ ct insert MQ and a $1/1 TQ printable (no longer available).

I could always do 2 transactions. One with just breathe right, one with everything else.
Cashiers have started doing price match at my store now. Not sure when they started. Last time I tried they did figure in the TQ in the price adjustment. Good luck.

I've been hearing a lot of the "1 per transaction" as well lately. They also keep referring to an email from corporate (maybe the same one that followed the TQ fiasco?) but none of them really seem to know what it says. Dontknow This is on top of the fact that most of the team members I've recently encountered know nothing about coupons. It is extremely frustrating to find that in some cases the manager doesn't know what they're talking about either.

I've run into a couple of clueless managers lately. How on earth are they supposed to educate the other team members? It makes no sense to me! Anyway, I've heard all kinds of nonsense lately about coupons at T. The common thread is "1 per", but there is no consensus in the actual policy or application of same. From what I can tell though, it definitely seems as though something has been brewing and trickling down from corporate. Frown

It makes me want to travel and I wish LongTimeLurker7 and Jamie worked at my stores. Or I wish that Target would reassign them as traveling team members and their primary task would be to educate other team members all over the nation and implement their own practices as the standard. Whip But I guess that's just a selfish fantasy. Teehee

I will second the warning about buying k-cups forever. The keurig brewer is just too easy. The sheer simplicity of using this machine is what will get you hooked on it. Once you get used to having to do nothing more than push that button for a hot beverage, there is no turning back. shake head

If you've decided that you really do want to get the machine but don't want to spring for the cups, you can get the "my k-cup" reusable coffee filter attachment and grind and brew whatever coffee you want in it over and over again. This is a more economical way to do it, but it also involves more work insofar as you need to grind the coffee, fill the attachment to brew each single cup, and wash it out in between.

It's really quite nice but you probably won't want to use it as much once you get accustomed to the instant gratification you'll experience with the pre-packaged k-cups. If you still want to get it but want to spend less money long-term, you might want to just buy the machine, the "my k-kup" attachment and your usual coffee so you don't have to worry about splurging on the k-cups. The machine is also great for hot chocolate and tea. They sell k-cups for those but you may as well use the powdered hot chocolate or a tea bag with the hot water as they will still provide that instant fix. Wink

Don't do it! You've gone soo long without it. It's so hard to put that down once you pick it up. You've already conquered the hard part. Don't put yourself through it again. hug

On the topic of kitchen appliances and Kohl's, my mother just asked me about a mini cupcake maker she saw in today's Kohl's ad. I wonder if any of you have one of these and would recommend it. I'm also wondering what the best way/place is to obtain more Kohl's Qs. TIA! Smilie

Try not to feel bad about moving back in with your parents. Look at it this way...gives you a little more time to spend with them. As kids we can't wait to get out of their house, as adults we can appreciate their house.

As far as Christmas goes...I just lost my mom (June 17th) of this year. My dad died when I was 16. I won't have my parents this Christmas. It will be hard. I won't be thinking or remmbering what I ever gave them for Christmas. I will be remembering the memories of things said and done. Maybe you can make some hot cocoa, put into a thermos and take them out for a ride to look at Christmas lights. Together as a group, I am sure we can help you come up with something special to share with your parents.

Wave

Quick little post to give ya' a new recipe we did for a side at lunch:

2 sweet potatoes - grated
1 granny smith apple, finely chopped
2 tbsp cinamon
1 tbsp sugar (I prefer brown)

1tbsp butter

Toss the apple and sweet potatoes in the cinamon & sugar. Heat the butter in the skillet until melted. Fry it all up like you would hash browns and serve.

Yum. Oh, and pretty darn cheap with the produce q's.

Oh yeah - do you think the produce q's that expired yesterday will beep expired? I know there's new ones, but I hate to waste paper since I already printed some. Frown
