If I had more than $10 in my bank account right now, I could think about new pans. Maybe if I can work out a Kohls deal. laugh out loud

We have a griddle but my son is also deeply in love with infomercials, and he begged for a pancake puff maker. I found this at Target clearance for $16 (regular price $22, don't let $44 at Meijer fool you)

http://www.meijer.com/s/nordic-wa...id=prodads

Haven't used it yet. Came with no recipes or any real directions except to insert desired filling into partially cooked batter. Oh I just realized it has non-stick surfaces as well. Good thing it won't get used often.

And the pumpkin rambling is because every time I open the pantry, I see the stack of pumpkin I have been building just in case there is another shortage this year. nod

more cook pan advice- keep an eye on JCPenney. I bought a really nice stainless steel set- no non-stick! lol- 15 years ago and it's what I still use. Original price for 7 piece set was $200, bought it for $40. I also bought a Calphalon set last year at Target for 75% off (second guessing that after reading here lately) but only use the stockpot, and then only for noodles (needed a larger stockpot).
TRy this one http://www.ehow.com/how_2132294_p...cakes.html

Hey, did I share with you all that dh is going out of town tomorrow. The bed is mine, all mine... and monkey toddler's. laugh out loud There is a maritime museum in Norfolk with a really good homeschooling program, and Saturday they are holding a free workshop for educators. It's sponsored by NOAA as part of a science enrichment program. The program is called "Learning Ocean Science through Ocean Exploration". And that is so his thing, not mine.

Plus I couldn't imagine leaving him here overnight with the 4 kids. Not without visions of tornadoes and extreme havoc awaiting my return. laugh out loud We live about 160 miles from there so he's going to drive down tomorrow, stay at a hotel, be at the workshop 8 am - 3:30 pm, be home some time Saturday evening.

cathi, I'm bookmarking that recipe for the pumpkin puffs. It sounds really good!

that's at our local supermarket. we have to hand over all our q's so they can check all the expiration dates b4 they start the transaction. their pos system is so much more sophisticated than target's. you don't have to worry about coupon order, any q that is over the amt of the item beeps and the cashiers are trained to look up the item and the supervisor has to come over and run their card thru after checking. basically the only q problem would be that they missed one. after the latest update we can now get some overage sometimes on the really complex transactions (multiple items w/ multiple discounts), but otherwise overage only happened once in a blue moon.

Okay, on a not so serious note. What the hell am I going to do with my 6 new rugs? laugh out loud
since you don't have a use for them right now, seriously, i would sell them if you have a moving sale. less to move and don't really need many rugs in florida!

i made $228.47 last wknd. not much compared to what others do here but i'm happy that i got rid of lots of junk, much of it old junk, from my house, my mom's house and my SIL's house. much of my stuff was priced .25-.50 so i sold a ton of stuff to make that much.

Tomorrow dh and I celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary.

I have had a hard life and even harder marriage, but thru the thick of it all we recently have become so much closer and happier than we ever thought we could be.

October 15th is National pregnancy and infant loss remembrance day

http://www.october15th.com/

Frown

setsailI can relate to your pain and understand how it feels to want hubby to feel and acknowledge that day.

It always helps when people step up on T-Day for me and I should have done same for you.
Quote from juliebeans :
btw, talking about things really is the best medicine
congratulations on your 16th anniversary and i hope you do something really fun!

i think it was very courageous of you to share your sad story here so that setsail could know that she is not alone in how she feels b/c truly nobody knows what it is like unless they have walked in your shoes.

and it ends up so many here have or have had similar issues/problems/loss. i hope that everyone here who has shared knows that they are not alone and feels some peace and lightness of spirit even though tomorrow we will have a somber remembrance for those we lost.

my condolences to everyone who will be remembering a loved one tomorrow Comfort.

DH keeps saying that the towels smell bad. I *did* have a load this past week that sat in the washer too long and had that sour smell after drying, but the latest loads did not sit at all and I do NOT smell what he smells. Argh... I think it is the detergent. grr
i had a set of towels that had a funky smell after 2 days of using them, no matter what i did. when i got my new washer, i used the sanitary cycle (170 degrees for 3 minutes) and they don't smell anymore. do you know anybody that has a sanitary cycle on their washer that you could use?

fyi- when i picked my new washer, i made sure it had an onboard heater and sanitary cycle b/c i used to get pink eye a lot.

Thanks for the opinions, guys. I just didn't know if I was way off in my thinking.

I did have someone at VS one time tell me to not say "breasts" and to please say "boobs" instead because it was less offensive. I was like, WTF, you sell bras for a living, get over it.

Hmm - never heard of a sanitary cycle - I'll ask around. My oldest has pink eye right now. She gets it multiple times a year. Frown

Totally agree.

kallison, umm yeah, that's the kind of pancakes we have here. The Kellogg's Cinnabon ones are really yummy.
Exactly what's in the freezer, as they were 15¢ a box or less at Publix before the $1/1 Parade Q expired. They are yummy
Quote from setsail :
... and those Archer Farms chocolate overload brownies.yummy
Ours never has been clearanced price, so I refuse to pay almost $3 for the box. So Dontknow if good or not.

I'm starving now. Off to reheat Cinnabon pancakes in the microwave. So happy I didn't read these posts last night before bed, as I'd been into them then instead.

TM4D...

When my DH says "What on EARTH are you doing?" and I tell him, "building my own furniture" and he asks "WHY??"

Well, I'm telling him it's your fault!

I have always loved working with wood and haven't done so in many years! Now I want to build everything on that site! I love the closet idea with the shelves built onto the doors!

I soooo want to make bunk beds.

woot bounce

Yay Ank!!! You can tell him it's my fault Big Grin And you can tell him it'll save you money too Wink My SIL built the closet thing and she loves it. They did it for a bathroom closet, would perfect for holding stockpile stuff!

I found the site literally weeks after we bought dd a big girl bed and matching dresser Annoyed Wish I would have found it sooner because of course the bed and dresser are pretty crappy since we couldn't afford much. Going to replace her bed with one from there at some point I just can't decide which one!

I couldn't copy and paste here yesterday either. (I think it was yesterday) It was just here, I could do it anywhere else and in any other program.

Well, she's a fruit cake. I do have to say, though, that for little girls, I find vagina to usually be incorrect since that's the inside part and they are most often referring to the outside part.

If I was going to have a cat type creature, I would want one of those. They are very pretty.

Ohhhhhh, I still want to go to Target but it's so far away..... And, DD thinks she wants a coat from Fashion Bug so if I were to go, I'm sure she would want to go - it's in the same town. Problem with that is, she works 11 pm - 7 am tonight, so she is still in bed and will sleep til around 1:30 this afternoon. And... there isn't really anything I NEED at Target. I want to get some more of the Finish dishwasher thingies -- if they even have any left. But.... I just printed all these coupons.

Hmmm, maybe I will cut my coupons, take a bath, wake up the daughter so she can snarl at me and then go all by myself.

Hubby left here wearing his new attached to his head by the pin in his skull hearing aid this morning. Wow, you should have seen him yesterday. When they first got it programed and he put it on he was absolutely amazed. He didn't realize that when you cross or move your legs that your jeans make noise. He had never heard that. Then he picked up his fluorescent orange work hat that is some weird material (we had to leave straight from work) and couldn't believe how loud it crinkled. He about jumped out of his skin when we shut the van doors. We had to stop at Menards for more soffit material and he couldn't believe how loud it was in there -- I just told him, wait til you go to Wal-Mart. So, it was a pretty amazing evening. I can't wait to hear about his day today.

Ummm, and we did sort of end up in the Mexican restaurant to celebrate. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) But I didn't eat anything else yesterday -- does that count?

They are definitely worth $3 a box imo. I did find some clearance one time. Hershey's brownie mix tends to be more sweet than chocolate. I find the Archer Farms to have more chocolate taste.

I can relate. I wear 2 hearing aids (one in each ear). When I got the first one, I made the mistake of going to Wal-Mart afterwards. Bigeye it was so LOUD in there. You could hear screaming kids from half way across the building. I had such a headache when I was done. I noticed that my typing actually made a sound as well. Stuff the hearing not-impaired takes for granted.

I learned to take them off before I went in the store, so I didn't hear the ambient noise.

Happy to hear that he can hear well with it though.
