In memory of her stillborn son, a lady in Australia started this project of writing names in the sand, and putting them online. I found it when someone on another site posted a voting link to help the site owner win a camera. Come to think of it, I don't remember if she won or not.
Off to do carpool.
I have a pendulum clock in the kitchen. The house is almost square - the kitchen is the south east corner. Her room is the north west corner in the basement. We have insulated the ceiling and all walls - including the interior walls of her room. She can hear the ticking unless she has her earplugs in or other noise on. We won't even talk about the cuckoo clocks.
Can't wear ear plugs, because then I can hear myself breathing and that drives me nuts. oh and yeah on the ticking clocks... I think that is one of the worst ones.. I don't have any in my home. Headaches are common.. When I watch TV I have it on volume 5, nobody else can hear it but me..
typing isn't bad when I'm doing it, but when I worked in an office and that's all we did, OMG.. it was awful, especially one girl who pounded on them.
Even when I slept and my ex was in bed, just listening to his breathing would drive me nuts..
The smell sensitivity is just as bad.. My neighbour can be having a shower, and if I have my bathroom window open and she does too, I can be in the living room or outside in the front yard, and I can smell her shampoo..
I get severe migraines from smells.. My DD's would have to use special shampoo that had no perfumes in it, perfume is a big no no in my house as is a deodorant that is not a non odorless one.
I feel for your DD... it's not our fault, but it affects everyone in the house and isn't always fair to them.

I got DS#2 down for a nap at 2:30 p.m., figuring DH gets home at 3 p.m. (this week, he works swing), and DS#1 didn't get home from the bus until at least 3:35 p.m., leaving us a whopping 35 minutes of "adult time."
... But DH was too tired...
... So I didn't get any... and I don't think I can blame Bob for that.
And, FWIW, I think Bob is way sexy...
Ask him if he has any questions. If at all possible, try to let him help guide the conversation. Let him know what you're willing to do to makes things easier. (For example, my mom told me at 14 that if I ever even thought I *might* need birth control pills to tell her and that we would go get them. No questions asked. Now, I didn't really care about that at 14, but I certainly remembered that at 17.
While I respect those who decide to go the abstinence-only route wrt raising children, I'm thankful that my mom didn't (my dad didn't really have anything to do w/any of it

As an observation, this has to be the only thread that the topic of conversations are either very sad pregnancies and little angels, sex, and/or different terms for body parts. We are very diverse here.
My mom never talked to me about sex either. When I was around 10, maybe a little earlier, I remember being at my aunts house, playing with my cousins, and we found these awesome little cardboard tubes in the bathroom trash. We had all these crafts planned out (my mom's side was a very big craft family, spent many days each summer at craft sales) that we were going to do with them. My aunt saw us with them and FREAKED OUT! I did not even find out until years later why she did.
