Don't feel like a criminal. It's pretty much standard procedure anywhere to have security present when someone is terminated. And to escort the person out. It isn't just you.

I think it was cause for immediate termination they should have emphasied it at orientation.

Almost forgot to answer this. Once upon a time I had done the math to figure it out in my area - but I can't seem to find where I had saved the info. Anyways, I figured out that when there is a gc deal, it *almost* doubles the gift card amount and subtracts that from your subtotal, then subtracts the coupons, then I forget if it figures the tax then reads the gc amount or vice versa...
It's very convoluted and involves your tax rate and percentage of the total or something along those lines. Basically, what it did was take the 12.72 (4.24*3), subtracted 9.XX (just enough to keep it at approximately $3.00 oop before q's and after the gc), tried to take the coupons but only had enough for 2 to attach to, then re-added the 4.XX amount before charging you the final total.
Hopefully your brain doesn't hurt after reading that - and I realize it probably doesn't actually explain that much... It's just wonky T. Sorry...

That is crappy. They should have gone over that with you. Anything that is grounds for immediate termination should be discussed with you.
Basically if you used your discount card and returned something in the same transaction that you used coupons, you can be fired? No matter what the reason you are returning? (exchanging for size or color, item is broken/ spoiled). That isn't fair imo.
Oh well. I guess I'm gonna have to move on.
