OK, so I'm going to bite the bullet on Kohls coupons, I saw last night on TV an ad that their Jumping Beans line is 50% off starting today. Should get me some free/cheap fall clothes for my two girls. Not my favorite line of clothing, but can't complain about the price!

Anyway, is there a particular seller any of you guys have used on that site, and would you mind posting the link again? Pretty please? heart And where are these $10 Qs being found?

Bunnies, congrats to you on getting the hang of Rite Aid so quickly! I did two quick runs this morning, but still haven't gotten any of the FASCR items for this week. Shame, I know. laugh out loud But my stores seem to have plenty of the items, so hopefully they'll still be there tonight and tomorrow.

I so want to go to T but really don't want the nightmare at checkout. What to do, what to do...

Update on my hubby's job situation: he had his annual review yesterday (on his birthday, no less) and found out he'll get a raise of ... wait for it ... $500. But ... they are going to start charging employees $20/month for parking, so his raise was basically to cover that. Um, how does that make sense? Anyway, he has been promoted to a position which requires a lot more from him, and if he performs well, they will revisit in several months or so and if his performance warrants, they will give him a substantial raise. He is very excited about this position, and his new boss is apparently highly educated in his field. Hubby says he's now attending Shawn University, because he's going to learn so much from his boss. laugh out loud I was devastated when he told me about the raise, but we both are looking at things in perspective - at least he has a job. The reason his company is not able to give out raises right now is because they bid so low on this contract to ensure a win. If they had NOT won, he would have lost his job.

I felt horrible that he got such disappointing news on his birthday, but happy for the opportunity he has to grow. Now ... one of us has to get a second job. The question is where? I'm leaning towards retail, because at least I'll get a discount, which will help with Christmas shopping. Any thoughts?

Now that I've written a book ... Big Grin Off to deal with laundry!!

As far as Kohls goes.. Seems like the jumping bean clothes are almost always 40-50% off.. The pant and shirts I have gotten for DD are always in the 6.00 each range. I used the coupons and got her 5 or 6 new outfits.

I have ordered the 5.00 coupons. I have gotten them from ebay many times and never really ordered from a particular person.. I just grab the ones I can get 20 for about 1.00. Not had a problem yet.

Sorry to hear about your DH and the job news.. Hopefully this new position will reward him financially very soonbounce
I have no idea about the job situation.. All I can say is hug retail discounts sound good.. of course, I don't know how much fun working in retail around the holidays would be. I am thinking working somewhere like Kohl's or JC Penney would be less stressful than target, but your selection would also be more limited. Good luck!

I've worked at Yankee Candle during a Christmas season, and it wasn't horrendous. Very busy, but not too bad. And the discount was awesome. laugh out loud I've thought about a Carters store that's right next door to a Target. nod Big Grin

yeah, both of those sound okay. I would love the carters store I thinkWink Yankee candle I would be afraid would give me a headache day after day with all of the strong smells in there. The discount would be nice thoughBig Grin
Years ago I worked at service merchandise around the holidays and it was horrible. People are so stressed and busy and downright rude. No way would I want to work in sales at WM or target on the day after Thanksgiving!

I bought them for the first time fairly recently after everyone here told about them.. One thing I did discover is that if you don't see the quantity and expiration date that you want, click on a seller and look at their whole list. I found some additional coupons that way.

Saw a lady returning cartful of stuff, including tons of candy that they had to put a salvage sticker on. I mean it was close to $1000 in stuff she was returning. The register was at -$799.78 when i left and she still had another cart of stuff to return. What's up with that?!
Did you guys see this over in deals? Wow. I prefer to think it was some kind of inventory thing going on rather a couponer doing crap like that. I can live in my own little world if I want to!Big Grin

not today, but last night almost every coupon beeped for amount..

And I looked as well.. seems like they all expire on the 23rd. Weird cause I am usually able to get them with a new date by Monday of the week.. Wonder if it has something to do with all of the 10 off 20 coupons they released?

just my 2 cents. i've worked many part time/temp jobs and i highly recommend trying to find a part time office job.

just off the top of my head i've done-
passing out flyers on the street in high school
plant shop at botanical garden summer job
college book store cashier- quit b/c i thought one of the mgr's was making moves and he had a rep for sleeping w/ the cashiers(idiots)
college bursar's office cashier summer job
part time dental office asst in college
clothing store asst mgr/operations mgr (5yrs)
insurance agent
office receptionist/secretary for my SIL
part time bookkeeper for tiny charter bus co

imho, for office jobs, hours are better, less strenuous, less pressure, less stress, better pay, probable xmas bonus (though b/c i couldn't make the xmas office party, SIL made me share my dinner bonus by double dating w/ our dh's).

if you go retail, aim high for a luxury company in an upscale neighborhood. aim for bloomingdales or saks instead of walmart/target. even for the same company, the pay is better in upscale neighborhoods. for example, the discount is better at macys than target.

don't go by the discount. you will end up overbuying. and it's not worth all the demanding physical labor, stress and exhaustion, esp during the holidays just for the discount. the discount is just not enough to make up for it.

if hrs are important, apply at smaller mom and pop/owner operated places, however pay will probably be close to minimum wage. my bff had the hardest time finding reliable morning people. ask if they do any sort of performance review, say after 3 months or a yr. then you know they have some sort of work standards at least. you can apply at major retailers, but they will really pressure you to work wknds and evenings. you have to be really firm and look hard to get the coveted daytime hrs. which also do pay better. but you would have to work close to fulltime, probably around 30-35 hrs/wk.

nod nod nod

Quote from Jpow5 :
They sure can!!!!! I did it last time. You can also combine with any %-off Qs that you might have. The last time I was there the cashier said as long as they come from different sources, the usually combine. So if you also had Kohls cash, or a $10/10 peelie, etc you could stack, stack, stack.......its crazy! Also they combine with store credit, too Wink
With the previous $10/20, I've been combining with the $5 Qs and 15% off Qs. This time I have a 20% off, so that will be even better. Secret
I heart Kohls

Flug, here is the one I've been using. I really like the pdf version of the Qs - much easier. I don't see the 10/30 ones up yet, but I'd imagine within a day or two. BTW, this seller also has Lowes 10% Qs (which are nice for both lowes and home depot).

Lets just say.. I picked a great cashier last night cause she didn't even look at the screen.. Just hit the button so quick I couldn't even read what it said most times. She was talking up a storm.. BUT, I can see it being a total pain with most cashiers around here. SO many of the ones at this store won't k1 anything anymore. If it beeps, they hand it back.
