Hmmm, I'm debating on ordering some of those $2 Benerful coupons. I've scrounged up a few trades and had couple RAOK. Anybody happen to have seen them for less than $0.15 each?

Now, tell me. Why am I hesitating? If I use them somewhere and get overage, they pay for themselves. Even if I don't -- and I probably won't because of where I am located -- that's still $0.15 for a nice container of bow wow chow. I am incredibly cheap.

I bought them for the first time fairly recently after everyone here told about them.. One thing I did discover is that if you don't see the quantity and expiration date that you want, click on a seller and look at their whole list. I found some additional coupons that way.
Cool, thanks!!

just my 2 cents. i've worked many part time/temp jobs and i highly recommend trying to find a part time office job.

just off the top of my head i've done-
passing out flyers on the street in high school
plant shop at botanical garden summer job
college book store cashier- quit b/c i thought one of the mgr's was making moves and he had a rep for sleeping w/ the cashiers(idiots)
college bursar's office cashier summer job
part time dental office asst in college
clothing store asst mgr/operations mgr (5yrs)
insurance agent
office receptionist/secretary for my SIL
part time bookkeeper for tiny charter bus co

*snip*
Thanks for all the great info! Problem with a part-time office job is child care. I don't want to leave my two youngest with a babysitter unless I have to, so I'm limited to nights and weekends. There is a data entry thing that I could possibly do in the evenings, have to check into that.

Basically, I need to pull in a minimum of $100/wk, in order to meet our needs. This is easily accomplished when its great yard sale weather, but mid-November is gonna be lights out on that for this area. So I just need something to tide me over until March/April, or such a time as hubby gets his raise.

Flug, here is the one I've been using. I really like the pdf version of the Qs - much easier. I don't see the 10/30 ones up yet, but I'd imagine within a day or two. BTW, this seller also has Lowes 10% Qs (which are nice for both lowes and home depot).

Thanks! Funny that you and gt use the same seller!!

well, I think alot of it depends on the age of the child. IMO, if you have little ones.. like under 8 or 10, there is almost always good deals to be found. I am not a WM shopper normally, but I do like their black friday toy deals most years. Problem is, as the kids got older, I couldn't get away with the 5.00 baby dolls or barbies... I still hit WM every year for something. Last year, I got my older kids a camera and video camera from there, as well as a GPS for the inlaws.
I can't remember exactly what deals WM had last year, but I know they were good enough that I had to actually choose what to get, instead of going in there for one thing and one thing only. nod And they actually had lots of unadvertised deals that were pretty great as well.

my dear friend's MIL worked at macy's for several christmases. she liked it. the discount was a big help with xmas purchases just because they carry such a wide range of things. but it also helped them get things for themselves that they needed. plus because she had some work experience under her belt she was promoted to manager. made a big difference in pay etc. so it is worth looking into.
also, what about real estate? would you consider doing that? getting your certificate (you can do that part from home) and become a realtor with some agency? the plus is you get to set your own hours and have a flex schedule. and also, can get a big commission for one deal which would make up for working many 20 hr weeks. on the negative side, you could go weeks without income, especially if you're shy etc. but i know a few people that took it on and are doing pretty well at it.

another option - hostess at a restaurant seating people/manage reservations/capacity. they're required to be pleasant and not buckle under pressure, but no dealing with dirty dishes etc like waitstaff and no heavy lifting. plus you'd work evenings likely, so that would allow for daytime at home and flexibility to share childcare responsibilites with DH.

option 3 - if you have a trader joes near you. they pay higher than other grocery chains and offer full benefits. they've consistently been rated as a great place to work. starbucks is the same way - health and education benefits even for part time workers. both good options. TJ's is nice cos of course you can use the discount to get good food even cheaper for the family.
Thanks for the great suggestions!! Hubby and I had actually talked about Trader Joe's. There is one about 20 mins drive from me. I would love the discount there, for sure.

I'm leaning towards Trader Joes, World Market, and Carters, I think. Surely one of those places would love to have my bright smiley face!! Big Grin Oh, and maybe Wegmans.

i'm not sure about world market since i've only gone there few times while on vacay but i think all the others are great choices for obvious reasons, everyone needs to buy food and great if you can get a discount on good quality food and kids constantly outgrow their clothing. i think wegmans is also in the top 100 employers just like trader joes and costco. also, not so much of a seasonal rush at those places. i did retail xmas for 5 yrs and i hated xmas after that for a very long time.

i would suggest that you maybe look to see which one has more opportunity for advancement or benefits for p/t. you never know and may want to work there for longer than you think, not just for the money but for adult interaction and just to get out of the house for a bit. so would be nice if there are opportunities for advancement to supervisor or some benefits if you stay for awhile.

if there is a whole foods around you may want to look into them also. i took a couple tours and they seemed to love their job. i think transferring between stores is easy too. one of the tourguides was saying something about visiting somebody who transferred to denver or something like that. they seemed to have formed a tightknit family there.

I have been doing laundry for what feels like a week straight. It's driving me nuts. I have friends who have a laundry day, but I can't seem to get enough done in just one day! I'm sure I'm just over-exaggerating - surely there's some no laundry days in there somewhere...
I've tried it both ways ... wait til *everything* is dirty and then do laundry for the entire day (and night... and possibly the next day)... or try and do 2-3 three smaller loads a day... It all sucks regardless. LMAO Comfort

But, here, I'll throw in a whine, too, so you don't have to feel bad about yours. I don't even have a dryer anymore Crying The 20-yo POS in the basement finally gave out early this spring. Thankfully, I was able to line-dry over the summer, but now I'm screwed. Yes, I have a neighbor that still line-dries in the middle of winter, but I'm just not that good. I admit it.

So now I have to drag my ass -- and baskets full of heavy, wet laundry -- to the local laundromat, where I get a whopping 5 mins of drying time for every quarter. Sadwalk

forgot. went to get a snack last nite and there were insect larvae in my kashi mediterranean bruschetta party crackers from a target deal vomit! what's bad is that there were only 4 crackers left and oblivious dh had been preparing the crackers and cheese snack for the last 2 wks.

so i'm wondering if there were bug bits visible b4 but dh just didn't see them.
