HAPPY BIRTHDAY myluv!!!!! I am so glad I have a virtual birthday buddy!! Let's partaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Whee

I am a tad too hyped up this morning....don't even need coffee Teehee

I don't think I'm gonna join secret santa....the holidays get all-to-hectic here unfortunately all because of insistent family members. I plan to lay the smack down this go-around Evil but I need to keep things simple around here this year. DH's family has been so demanding in the past years about us being at every Christmas event they hold --- I swear they have at least 4-5 Christmas gatherings! His parents are divorced so there are already two sides to cater to with that, plus mine (mine are divorced too but I don't see my dad or his side of the family.) It is most of the same people at each one on his side, so there is no need to go to all of them when we have 2 other sides of the family to fit in + all the other church activities, other activities, and our own personal family Christmas. I'm sure I'll be doing some more venting as Christmas nears Teehee I already sent out a nice note to all of them (back in August when the Christmas invites started up EEK!) letting them know that we will make it a priority to go to ONE on each side of the family and beyond that we probably wouldn't be there. We'll see. Sometimes I wish we could go on vaca over Christmas it's that bad!

Ermm at least you have someplace to go. I show up with lots 'o gifts for my brother's family (with 8 kids), but can't spend the night and we never have a meal together (too many folks) but other than that, nothing. Mom died when I was in college. Dad died within 2 years of me moving "home". Mother was an only child.

I guess I'd feel differently if I was married with kids and being pulled in four directions.

Cue the Tennessee Christmas music. . .

Heck yeah he should! Do all of it & send you to relax in the tub while it gets done.

I know someone here will know - The other day I was at JCP and one of the associates was getting the wrinkles out of the bedding....Is it a steam iron, are they good for getting wrinkles out of bedding...
I have a little hand held steam iron that I got maybe 12 years ago when I was in college. It still works great although I don't use very often. It does work to get wrinkles out of bedding, if my sheets get to rumply in the dryer (cuz we are using tiny stackables from our rental cuz our full size broke) I can run it over the sheets after they are on the bed and it is quick, not perfect but good and quick. Same for hanging clothes, good and quick but not perfect.

Oh yeah, I also used it to remove the super cheesy wallpaper strip in my sons room from the previous renter. Just soaking it with water or trying to pull it off was not working to well, it was really stuck, they must have used a tun of wallpaper glue. Putting the steam iron on it really melted it off. I do think it would take to long to do a full wall of paper but not to bad for just the strip.

myluv

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!

thismom4deals... we have known three famlies now that have gone on vacation for Christmas to Disneyland or Disneyworld. Instead of the whole Christmas shin diggs they have all done the big 5 or maybe 7 day packages with park hoppers tickets. Disney does a whole big thing in the park too, I guess it's pretty amazing. It really does sound like lots of fun, we are thinking of doing it one of these years too but we want to wait untill the 20 month old is a bit older so he will remember better.

Happy Birthday you guys!! Hope you have a wonderful day!

My vent for today:
My toddler has been waking up super early all week. Anywhere from 5 -7 am and I don't like this schedule at allshake head

Getting some much needed housework done today.. Hoping for a relaxing Saturday!

Ank - I know the feeling on the scale hating.. Yesterday I was down 2 pounds but today up one.. I really need to not weigh until the beginning of next week!

I didn't sign up for the secret santa thing either.. I was thinking about it. I too have alot of people/things going on at the Holidays.. Besides, I figure whatever I may decide to send, alot of TCCers may already have a stockpile ofWink

Forgot to mention.. At my yard sale last weekend, DH managed to get rid of every can of dog and cat food we had sitting in the garagewoot I told him I just wanted it gone. He made great deals to people. One lady bought an entire tote, and yeah, he gave her the tote too for 35.00.. But, honestly, I was at the point of just giving it away, so I am glad to see it gone. Sadly, the 35 packs of pullups I had stockpiled that my DD is no longer needing, didn't sell at all Frown

I would say that Target has by far the best looking moms in my city. Walmart is way below target in my estimation. K Mart is pretty bad.

Does anyone play the grocery game? It is the online site that is supposed to save tons of money on essentials. Does this actually save you money?
Ummm, hello, maybe. Who are you? Yes, we know Target has the best looking moms. We are them, duh. You should see what we can do with a banana costume.

As far as I know, nobody here does the Grocery Game. I can't quite picture a single one of us paying someone to list the deals for us. This is why we belong to Slickdeals and it's free.

The gym scale said I gained 1.5 lbs. I don't like that scale. It's all the scale's fault. (and it has nothing to do with the oreos in my cupboard)
Sill, rabbit. That scale LIES. It's at the gym. The point of a gym is to lose weight. Now, if all their customer lose weight they go out of business. The scales are rigged.

Had my doctor's appointment yesterday. He gave me a Rx for the dessicated thyroid. He isn't convinced and I'm sure think he thinks I'm a little nuts. Why would I want to eat a ground up pig thyroid? I looked straight at him and said, "I was hoping it would taste like bacon". Big Grin Nonetheless, he agrees that it sure won't hurt and if it helps, great. And, since I have a giant bottle of the synthetic in the cupboard -- I am prepared either way.
