Please tell me this is not a place that does sex-change operations b/c it would be really hard to explain our relationship to my husband.

No, no sex change. If anything I'd like a boob job. Smilie

It's a hair place. I've always wanted to try out vanilla. Getting tired of the same ole chocolate.

Thanks for the information on the grocery game. It seemed like a gimmick to me.

Hopefully, I did not offend any Wal Mart or Aldi moms with my prior post. Please remember to vote this November to help prevent our country from going totally down the tubes.

Huh? Grocery Game is silly. You get your 'list' in enough time to shop 2-3 days, can't plan getting extra coupons etc, and they don't list Target, so not really interested! LMAO

Ermm at least you have someplace to go. I show up with lots 'o gifts for my brother's family (with 8 kids), but can't spend the night and we never have a meal together (too many folks) but other than that, nothing. Mom died when I was in college. Dad died within 2 years of me moving "home". Mother was an only child.

I guess I'd feel differently if I was married with kids and being pulled in four directions.

Cue the Tennessee Christmas music. . .
Comfort. sorry. holidays can be really tough.

i could make some suggestions if you are open to trying new things or feeling a little adventurous.

pls don't be mad at cathi. she was just responding to your last line. your other post about the song was awhile ago and you know this thread has been moving so fast and many haven't been keeping up. she didn't do it intentionally or to be mean.

Funny thing about that is that right after I said I wanted pizza, the phone rang. It was husband wanting to know if I had started supper and if I hadn't would I call and order pizza and he would pick it up. LMAO

I ate it. Does it count that it is thin and crispy from Pizza Hut? And I ate way less than I used to - about 2 1/2 pieces.

Since it's national Pizza month, all pizza is 1/2 of the calories it is in any other month. At least, that's what I was telling myself when I had a piece of Little Ceaser's earlier this week. Wink

All the FoodSaver has vanished from my store. Anyone know if T is no longer carrying this line? They did a reset and it is gone as far as I can tell. All expect for one lost system on clearance. EEK!

I am determine to do just that this year --- and I've started early Teehee I did not know you can do that with cookies. Just sugar cookies or what? Frosted or do you frost them after you take them out of the freezer? Sounds like a plan to me! There's never been cookies here but I'm thinking there could be cookies instead of other goodies if I could make it in advance and it was this easy. Roll

I am pretty sure you could just freeze the dough too. Just extend the cooking time by a few mins.
...
Quote from gt6mk31 :
...Most cookies will freeze just fine and nearly all dough will. When I would make chocolate chip cookies I would often make a huge batch of dough then freeze part of it. Roll the little round dough balls, freeze on a cookie sheet, then store them in a container. Take out dough balls - go straight from freezer to oven.

i always chill cookie dough anyways because the cookies turn out much moister that way. using room temp dough results in hard, overcooked cookies i have found, because the butter gets overcooked. whereas, when the dough is chilled, as the flour is cooking the temp of the butter is rising and it goes from solid to melted and cooked a bit but not completely separated.

so, because of that habit, i find freezing dough to be very convenient. for "sugar cookies" , i just make the dough, roll into logs or large-ish dough balls, wrap each in parchment paper, put in a ziploc bag and freeze. when i want to make the cookies, just pull out one individually wrapped thing of dough and thaw for a little while, till it goes from frozen solid to still chilled and firm. the logs can just be sliced up. the dough balls i roll out and use cutouts.
for choc chip cookies, i make em into small dough balls, flattened slightly, just like i would if i were putting into the oven, then put em on a sheet of parchment, and fold over extra parchment over them, slide into ziploc bag. when it's time to bake em, i just pull out of freezer, uncover the folded over parchment and tear off. then lay the parchment sheet with the dough on it on a cookie sheet and let it thaw for 15-20 mins. then in oven.

no mess, no fuss. i find that making dough and freezing is really convenient actually, because you divide up the work and because the dough is already chilled and almost ready to go into oven, vs making dough, then putting in fridge to chill for a while you wait for that to happen, then start making tons of batches of cookies. takes way too much time that way.

ps. LTL, congrats indeed on that bookshelf. nicely done!

how do you cook your bok choy? i'd love some tried and tested recipe ideas. made a soba noodle bowl the other day with lots of veggies, including bok choy. came out yummy
can one just wilt it or saute with some soy sauce/tamari sauce? (tamari is my new love!)

you know what i do - I pick up some whole wheat pizza dough from store or make some myself (it's just flour and proofed yeast) and stick in fridge once it is has risen. pizza dough keeps for loooooooooong in the fridge i have found. that way, when we feel like pizza, i just pull out the dough, roll out thin crusts and top with a little bit of tomato sauce or just brush on some olive oil with garlic and healthy toppings of choice (high fiber veggies with a little cheese; turkey pepperoni with a little cheese etc).
it is VERY filling and flavorful; much, much healthier than store pizza and depending on what you put on it, actually good for you; and best of all, quick and easy to make. takes about 10 mins to prep (cut stuff, roll dough) and 15-20 mins to cook. plus you can control pizza size also.
