Michaels crying broke my heart. It was one of those deep "this will never stop hurting" kind of cries.
And I probably shouldn't have had some very questionable cheap wine I found in the back of my fridge. I don't think cheap wine ages very well
Sorry ypur'e having a bad week .
Sorry you're having a bad week also , sounds like you just have to much going on and not enough support.

We are heading across the state to visit family sometime this week so I have a diet challenge ahead. Eating out at somewhere decent isn't too hard -- I like steak, skip the potato, eat a veg and/or salad. Even fast food is doable -- double cheeseburger throw away the bun.
It's the other stuff -- sitting around visiting, somebody is bound to have junk of some kind and I love sweets. And my mother often has maple cream filled cookies -- it's thick cream like the Double Stuff Oreos and it's maple. OMG they are the best thing in the world with coffee.
I had planned to stop at a Target or two along the way and get some fruit for my son. I am seriously reconsidering it with all the register problems.
You have some pampered cookies dough balls! Mine just got roll and tossed in an old ice cream bucket!
I do low carb -- so pretty much any dough is a no no. So, for the most part, I am doing pretty well sticking to my carb limit. But if I do cheat I am trying to relearn reasonable limits.

I'm not either. Even great deals I don't do as much as most of you but if it were something seriously fabulous, I would go and do several transaction. I don't Glade so it has to be free and I figure my chances of finding the small Curel is slim to none and I have quite a bit of lotion so I don't know that it's worth the cash register coupon hassles.

'Trevor is making amazing progress! Yesterday was a big day- up to full feeding through nose tube, made it out of his isolet and into a regular bassinet with normal clothes! (Although the preemie clothes were swimming on him
DS is chillin' with his ice pack and bottle of Vicodin. Need to fill his other script. Can't remember if there is a $10 GC out this week?

Glad to hear also son is relatively comfortable also ,sorry I don't know either about GC.
ETA People are saying pharmacy is handing out booklets , that have rx q in them expires 10-31
that's how those massively obese people on tv got the way they did. eating 10,000 or even more calories a day and fooling themselves that they don't eat much.
the dieting part isn't meant to be permanent but the portion control is for ever after so it's great that you are doing it!
can one just wilt it or saute with some soy sauce/tamari sauce? (tamari is my new love!)
I sometimes saute some garlic in sesame oil and then wilt the bok choy. Yum.
put in the dry veggies (cuz otherwise it will splatter water and oil everywhere) and stir/flip them around until they are all coated w/ the oil and have started to cook. if it is hard veggies like bok choy, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, then i put in about a qtr cup of water usually but chicken broth is good, put the lid on and then turn down the flame to medium. about 2-3 minutes or so i will stir it and maybe salt it, but i'm really, really trying to minimize our salt intake. it will probably need 2-3 minutes more to be crisp/tender or soft enough to the way you like it. or you could parboil the hard veggies first and then stir fry. i've seen my friend do that w/ broccoli.
when it's done, depending on the veggie i cooked, i will add about a tablespoon of oyster sauce per person or a drizzle of dark sesame oil, about a half teaspoon or less per person, make sure the veggies are well coated and then take it off the heat. i've also done lemon pepper seasoning if the meat is steak or something like that. usually you don't cook the veggie in the sauce you use for seasoning unless like garlic, it needs to be cooked also. some of the sauces can't take high heat and will lose their flavor if you cook in them too long. also, sesame oil is really expensive so chinese people do not cook in it, they add it last so don't lose any flavor. usually best sesame oil is from japan so really, really expensive.
harder, stronger tasting veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, green beans get oyster sauce. oyster sauce is a home cooking kind of thing. they don't use it in restaurants, i think because it doesn't look all that pretty. instead, they put oil on it after it's finished to make it shiny. that's why chinese restaurant food is not healthy and so greasy it will take off any kind of lipstick you wear.
lighter, usually leafier veggies get sesame oil like napa cabbage, chinese okra squash. or they get dried shrimp- http://en.wikipedia.or
bok choy can go either way, oyster sauce or sesame oil. i've also started adding a little sprinkle of white pepper when doing the sesame oil. if you do sesame oil, you can use any leftovers in noodle soup. once you do oyster sauce you really can't redo the leftovers.
or, what's really nice is to cook bok choy w/ dried shitake mushrooms. soak half a cup to a cup of dried shitake mushrooms in cold water for at least half and hr or more. make sure they are totally reconstituted so you may have to flip them around periodically in the water. remove the stem b/c it will never soften. if they are small you can leave them whole. if they are kinda large, you can either cut them in half or slice them into strips a little less than qtr in wide. stir fry/saute the bok choy a bit then add about a qtr cup mushroom soaking liquid and put the lid on. when you go to check around the halfway pt, add the mushrooms so they will get heated all the way thru. you can do garlic b4, oyster sauce or sesame oil after.
a really popular way to cook chinese veggies in real chinese restaurants is to saute w/ garlic. just add sliced or minced garlic to the hot oil and stir it around until you can smell it, about 30 seconds to a minute, then add the usually dark green strong tasting leafy veggie like spinach, watercress, snow pea shoots, chinese broccoli or chinese water spinach- http://en.wikipedia.or
very recently b/c of the diet we are on, i've been steaming the bok choy in a qtr to almost half inch of water, right in the pot, no steamer rack or anything. drain the water and drizzle w/ sesame oil and a little white pepper and stir well. works great w/ leafy veggies and broccoli.
soy sauce is usually added to the meat when you stir fry. veggies are cooked separately, then the whole thing is combined at the end and then you add oyster sauce or sesame oil. some combos you can add both. the oyster sauce and sesame oil is very strong so no more soy sauce at the end. but since they don't use oyster sauce or sesame oil (too expensive) in the restaurants, that's why people want to add soy sauce at the table. or what many chinese people do is use hot sauce, chili sauce, chili oil, etc at the table. esp w/ recent influx of vietnamese/chinese in the last 30 yrs.
dh hasn't complained about how i cook the veggies which is good b/c i'm going to be steaming more. he just complains about the kind of veggies. he doesn't like chinese broccoli, red peppers, carrots, beets, celery and sugar snap peas.
let me know if you want to try something and can't find the ingredients. or if you aren't sure what goes w/ what. that is the trickiest part. like bok choy doesn't go w/ fermented bean curd. those are the things you learn growing up w/ it. sometimes when i watch the cooking shows on tv, i cringe!
nor do I really understand the rush for glade seeing as it hasn't been found to be a big MM this year as yet (as far as I know). what am i missing? am I nuts for not getting excited about doing glade deals - i still have enough by way of glade candles from earlier in the year courtesy of deals at wags and cvs (hadn't learned T at the time of the glade deals last year, and I was only just barely learning to use coupons at the time) and we don't really light heavily scented candles much anyways cos of the chemicals.
so should I be rushing over to do one of these deals? should i be turning in my tcc card?
in the past, glade has paid to change sd'ers windows, vacays, etc if you resell. unlike some other products, some glade can be done on the bay.
I feel better now
that snookie came from your neck of the woods!

I chatted with the LOD and he said the little pop-up screen should be getting "fixed" next week.....so hold on for more changes if what he's saying/was told is correct.

Speaking of TV ..do you all know about www.hulu.com? All TV shows are available in streaming video by noon the day after they air! Pretty awesome. We use DVR here a lot but sometimes we/DH forgets something is on...
