So, I can expect PLENTY of cookies in my mail?? oh wait. You meant private message...Sadwalk *sigh*

Oh, yeah. Easy, Easy:

10 MINUTE NEVER FAIL MICROWAVE PEANUT BRITTLE

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 c. raw peanuts
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Combine first 4 ingredients in 2-quart microwave mixing bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 8 minutes, stirring after 4 minutes. Add butter. Microwave on HIGH 2 minutes. Brittle should not get too brown. Stir in vanilla and soda until light and foamy.
Spread on buttered baking sheet as thinly as possible. Cool. Break into pieces.
LOVE peanut brittle and this looks so much more doable than the traditional recipes. Thanks!!! I'm getting so hungry reading all these recipes today!

Two things I also do:

For breakfast/snack

A crescent star use 2 pks of crescents lay them out on a cookie sheet one overlaping the other in a star shape,or my case it looks more a wreath, then fill it with cream cheese and strawberry or raspberry preserves, put second layer of crescents making sure to pinch around the edges, bake for about 15 mins.

I also make a jello surprise, its a can of chunky cranberry can of crushed pineapple, chopped walnuts,2 boxes of jello raspberry and or cranberry, follow directions on box plus add canned pineapple and cranberries, put it in a circle jello mold. Then u make a filling for center out of cream cheese and whipped cream and chopped walnuts.
One jello is chilled and set put it ojn a serving platter and fill the center with the filling.chill again.
Scratchchin I need a visual....this sounds amazing though and my family loves crescent rolls!

I make this. It is a great replacement for that nasty red stuff in the can.

Be sure and let it cool completely before placing in ref.

HOMEMADE JELLIED CRANBERRY SAUCE

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 12-ounce package Ocean Spray® Fresh or Frozen Cranberries

DIRECTIONS:

Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; add cranberries, return to a boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Place a wire mesh strainer over a medium mixing bowl. Pour contents of saucepan into strainer. Mash cranberries with the back of a spoon, frequently scraping the outside of the strainer, until no pulp is left.

Stir contents of bowl. Pour into serving container. Cover and cool completely at room temperature. Refrigerate until serving time.

Makes 1 cup.
I make this as well! Big Grin

I would never eat the nasty canned stuff growing up and then one year I tasted some homemade stuff - holy cow, it's not the same thing at all Nono Homemade cranberry sauce is the b.o.m.b! yummy

I need to look back in my ancient recipe cards because I think there was a pampered chef recipe like this that used canned chicken, onion, cheddar, and cream of mushroom. etc. It made a circle of chicken salad stuffed crescents nod Gosh. I hadn't thought about that recipe in years laugh out loud

Hide hiding in shame. I actually LOVE the canned cranberry sauce straight out of the can, cold from the fridge. Coverlaugh

Thanksgiving will be:

Turkey -- barf. I don't like poultry. Why can't we have pizza?
Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
Stuffing (probably)
Raised pull apart yeast rolls -- the highlight of the meal, if ya ask me!
Corn Casserole -- more than likely, definitely if my son is here
Anything else requested

Pumpkin Pie
Whipped cream - and I don't mean that nasty crap in the container that tastes like soap.

I am also seriously considering homemade ice cream, a layer cake with twinkie filling and a pecan pie.

I have already decided that I WILL Be cheating on the diet big time. I gotta cook this stuff, I'm gonna eat it. So, if I am gonna cheat and gain.... might as well have one heck of a day!
(yes, I know that is a bad, bad diet habit)

And there are only 3 of us. Unless my son and mom come up -- which is unlikely.

found it: It's hand written and old. Bear with me...laugh out loud

2 cans crescent rolls

2 cans Swanson chicken drained

onion and bell pepper to taste (we loathe bell pepper so we omit vomit)

1 2 cup pack cheddar cheese

1 can cream of mushroom soup
------------------------------------------

Lay 1 can of crescents out to form an overlapping circle, Mix chicken and other ingredients and spread mixture around crescent circle. Top with other can of rolls and fold.
I'm assuming bake at 350 for 15 min or so Dontknow that part of the recipe is gone laugh out loud

if someone tries this, please tell me how it was because I honestly don't know if I ever made it Blush3

Me either. Don't like turkey, don't like gravy, don't care much for stuffing, really don't like the corn casserole. So, I eat one obligatory very small piece of turkey, some potatoes with butter and rolls. Sometimes more of those than I care to admit. Now, when we get to the dessert part.... well, the a whole 'nother story!

The reminded me of another recipe. It's nothing like it but chicken and Pillsbury.... well anyway. I am talking about the biscuits in the tube -- doesn't matter what kind. I used to use just the cheap store brand regular size ones and they were fine. I sure the bigger ones would be fine too.

Chicken in a Biscuit

Cook and cut up some chicken into bite size pieces. I use boneless skinless breasts.

Cook and drain a bag of broccoli pieces.

Throw the chicken and broccoli in a bowl and mix in a can of Cream of Chicken soup.

Take a biscuit and press it into a muffin pan and up the sides making a cup -- lining the muffin cup. Fill it will the mixture. Get them all filled and sprinkle the tops with shredded cheddar cheese.

Bake them according to the biscuit directions. Let them sit just a few minutes, pick up and eat. Eating the with your fingers is required. Leftovers heat up in the microwave pretty well too.

Wave

Hope everone's having a great Sunday. Not doing much shopping, still having a mental block I guess. I think the Target update had deeper effects on me than I thought LMAO

Spent most of yesterday painting my Foyer. Now, I have to find a painter to paint the stairwell as the ceilings are about 24 ft. and will need a scaffold. I chose Porter Paints Almond Brittle, next is the LR. I'm doing it in Valspar Oregon Coast. I accented the den/dr with Porter Almonds and Honey (I think) If anyone looks up those colors, I 'd love some feedback, especially on the Oregon Coast color.

Made a quick trip to T today. Picked up a sony CD player for ds at 50 percent and a Panasonic cordless phone set for my mom. It has three docking stations/phones. Originally 99.00 rang up INF. Got it for 12.50 but was marked 24.99.

Don't even want to think about Thanksgiving. Hope someone else cooks this year and invites me over Coverlaugh

DD is having 2 showers in the next couple of weeks, she's staying with me this week while DSIL is working out of town. She informed me tonight that my house is haunted because she keeps hearing footsteps at night. "don't you hear it mom?" "heck no, I'm too busy sleeping" Then a little while ago, she saw a young boy in the hallway, and informs me it's the second time in a week she has seen him. She said "am I going crazy?" me: "yes, dear you are" laugh out loud but now she has me a little bit creeped out too. oh well, as long as he's translucent I suppose he can't do much harm laugh out loud

Have been alone at work for 2 weeks covering while my coworker is on vacation with her husband who just got back from Iraq. Busy as heck and I'm so glad she's back this week.

DS is doing good, knock on wood no signs that he may need more surgery. 5 since April. I feel so bad for him, and it has worn me out!

Had a CT of my lungs and an MRI of myh liver this week. Hopefully they will come back unchanged and if so, my oncologist is releasing me from his care. I should hear something this week.; Just a little pre-occupied with that. Can't believe it's been a year since that whole incident. Time seems to fly...

EEK! I didn't know!

Not a BF item but I am looking for full - queen size air mattresses. I don't want the big double tall one or the ones with the pump built in. I want it for the pool. I don't use pool mattresses cuz they are cheap, leak, and don't last. The bed kind of air mattresses do. I had a queen that I used in the pool for several years -- aired it up at the beginning of the season and never had to add aid. It was murdered this year. Someone... ran over it with the van. It fell over in the garage and I, umm I mean someone, didn't see it.

So anyway, of you see any cheap clearance deals, I would appreciate a heads up!
