LMFAO!! My dh thinks I am a crazed shopper b/c I try to go out once a week...I mean I read alot of yous that go shopping multiple times a week and he thinks its horrid that I go out once a week...I really need to do some yardsales... I have been selling the cesar dog food 100 for 20 bucks and it has been flying but I just wanna get rid of it cause I have that much...lol
Sometimes I go every day, sometimes it's once a week. All according to budget and what is on sale. I donated the Caesar. laugh out loud
Speaking of which, I found the Tempations cat treats clearance yesterday for $1.21. Grabbed 10 packs, all they had. Tried to use 3 b2g1 and only the first worked. Second and third came up 0.00, but then so did the Hasbro mq I just printed yesterday and a few other good coupons. I didn't have them take the items off because it would have been a pain but I was wondering wth was up now (about the 0.00 for $5 Iron Man mq, 0.00 for a Glade $1 mq...)

HAHA!! Men are definitely overrated to an extent..ask mine he never remembers a birthday yet...

I have to agree with you that whatever fits in the budget is the best... I hate when people go out and buy outlandish homes and find them in foreclosure b/c they could never afford the house to start with... I am so budget conscious...
My parents neighborhood is full of people that got in way over their heads. My parents lost their house when my dad was laid off and couldn't find another job. They've been married 34 years and bought their first house 32 years ago (and 4 states ago)- it kills me that they were actually responsible for all those years and it was just the economy being crapola that finally brought them down.

If I buy him, does that mean I can force him into giving me back rubs? Cause that would be pretty sweet.

I wish I had done more research. Even at 75% off the set was almost $80. Too much for the SDer in me to throw away. laugh out loud
if you haven't used the other pieces, maybe you can sell them. at my yard sales, the kitchen stuff new and used sells ok, no matter how old it is, as long as it's functional and priced right.

if you could recoup at least some of the money, you can put it towards a better set.

i really didn't do any research b/c a lot of target and/or clearance shopping is buy now, check later and return if it's not good. but i have a 10 piece calphalon commercial set orig 399 at macys that i got for like 258 at costco about 10 yrs ago. b4 that my aunt gave me a set of circulon for a wedding present. it was an expensive nonstick set that stuff started coming off of after 2-3 yrs. i didn't even bother w/ the 10 yr warranty b/c i didn't want just more of the same crap. i was turned off nonstick after the circulon except for the one pan all the cooking shows say you should have to cook eggs and fish.

luckily the calphalon skillets are not in a box, just in a cardboard sleeve so you can inspect them. i was actually very shocked that calphalon manufactured such shoddy products compared to the pots and pans i have at home. since you bought a set, you probably weren't able to see what you were buying. another reason why i like to shop at macys for cookware. they always have a sample out so you can see if you like it. no mystery purchase.

i think in the general scheme of things, you really do get what you pay for. in the last few yrs i've been satisfied w/ the lower quality at target b/c when it's 75% off to free or even MM, it's hard to complain. but i have noticed an overall theme that the quality is just not there. target items are rather disposable. it's like shopping at ikea. my bff told me the grill she got 75% off from target 2 yrs ago is already starting to fall apart, her previous grill was better quality and lasted almost 10 yrs. this one is definitely not going to make it. so therefore, it was probably overpriced at full price since it was not really worth that much due to shoddy quality. as i noted in deals, i grew up w/ high end vacuums and compared to them, a dyson just doesn't have the features and suction a high end vacuum does. so i'm going to end up buying a second vacuum and not really have gotten a bargain b/c now i'll have 2 vacuums that work so-so and take up twice the space.

i used to primarily buy cotton socks, but b/c the socks are cheap to free, i knowingly buy synthetic now, even though it makes my feet swim.

that's what target has done to me. turned me into a quantity over quality shopper!

All the 23100's have been giving me a HARD time with the same issue but none on the others...so I guess it's one of those things...

Awww I feel bad for people like your parents.. those are not the individuals that I wanna smack, its the ones that are like lets go out and buy that half a million dollar house but I can only really afford a 100,000 dollar house but b/c I was approved for it, I should get it... errr Sending lots of hugs!!

Family - um... 1) so you feel normal and 2) so you can fully appreciate being alone.

Meeshe, I would be hesitant to buy a Dell any longer. They used to be awesome, great computers but not so much lately. We have Compaq and HP notebooks that have latest longer than some of my friends' Dell computers.

Now, the Alienware stuff, that I would consider. laugh out loud

slowtech, I was never a fan of non-stick, and the older stainless steel set I bought at JCPenney almost 20 years ago doesn't have non-stick. 90% of the time, I still use that. The only Calphalon piece I use from that set is the stockpot because it's larger than the other one I have.

And for some reason when I bought the set, I didn't stop to think that it's non-stick. *sigh*

Ew, no foot rubs. Feet are disgusting and I would never let someone touch my feet (they're not gross, but I just can't do it).

A friend of mine wants to buy a house and got approved for something like 250k, which is WAY more than she can handle with her salary. But, oh no, she wants to spend it all. I think she should at least pay me back first!
