I was wondering how the heck they became infamous, and why they are such a big deal.

Nice on the computerBig Grin My DH says it is sad that the computer guy has the worst computer of anyone laugh out loud He has been needing to rebuild our desktop but hasn't had the money or time. We have 2 PC's hooked to one monitor in the dining room. He used one of them, and the kids the other. Everytime he thinks he will be able to upgrade his, the kids do something to the other one. I did have 5 to print from with our 2 PC and 3 lappy, but now one is dead Frown I actually won a free copy of windows 7 from houseparty but he has never installed it cause he said our PC is too crappy right now. He keeps saying he is gonna do it, but always seems to be working on someone elses.

Why is it people always think if you work in computers you can fix anything. A lady at church accidentally erased all of the pictures off her mom's camera. DH found a program for her to try.. Instead of doing it, she brings him the camera to church Sunday. He spent 4 hours working on those stupid photos last night.. It was kinda cool though cause he got back almost every one.
Oh that wouldn't work with dh. He would pout. shake head Last year, the desktop that *I* used fried. Instead of me getting a computer replacement, I got the computer he was using and he bought a new one from HP.

Now, another desktop was ready for replacement. We were *supposed* to be rebuilding the computer for the kids but it somehow turned into giving him a faster computer. I bought our younger dd a netbook in August and he pouted because he wanted a new computer, so he got a netbook. The good thing is that we now have 3 desktops, 3 laptops and 3 netbooks to print from. laugh out loud

If I have a phone upgrade, and get something "cool", he whines because suddenly his phone isn't cool enough. He's added phone lines to go get that phone he wanted so badly when he couldn't wait 2 months for his yearly Sprint upgrade. *sigh* That's actually how we first ended up with the kids having cell phones, they would get passed down the ones he no longer wanted.

My GPS died and I bought a new one (one of the $40 clearance TomTom last year) and he would have pouted if I hadn't bought him one as well. That's how it goes around here.

eta I missed out on the free Thomas last year. Frown Our local TRU wouldn't honor the coupon the first time I tried to pick one up.

Anyway, got a couple 12 packs of cream soda just cuz we needed it and it was $2.75. Otherwise, I got 4 Purina treats - TQ+MQ, 10 Beneful MQ, 4 Muffins TQ, 2 fruit TQ. Everything went through just fine. The Beneful asked if the amount was ok, then automatically adjusted it ($1.64). I think that was the only one that require intervention.
OMG, cream soda sounds SO good right now! I have a hard time finding it (12 packs or 2 liters), but every once in awhile, I splurge on the ones in the bottles and I love it!

If my pop/celebrity knowledge serves me right, I *believe* Kim Kardashian was a shopper for the stars, possibly even a stylist. That was her initial claim to fame, and if I recall correctly, it was well-earned, she was very good at it. Also, their mother is married to the Olympic swimmer dude, Bruce Jenner. Anyway, it sounds as though I watch their show, but I really don't. In fact, it just showed up on Netflix instant viewing (Keeping up with the Kardashians) and hubby was like, "Oh, please don't watch that show!" Wink

This is the one we bought. It's not cheap but is a really nice first bike. Very lightweight and sturdy. No doubt that it will last through a couple boys Wink2

Most definitely! I was actually thinking of the TRU free thomas fiasco laugh out loud
That bike looks awesome! Hmmmm...

Oh, I never got in on the TRU one. I read about it, but didn't have the time to do it. Plus, Target had pretty much supplied all our needs in that area. Rofl2

I'm trying to remember what first brought me to slickdeals, and I'm not really sure. Feels like I've been here forever! I lurked for a long time before I joined/posted.

On the bikes and trikes....I got dd a trike last year on clearance at T. and the poor baby was too short to reach the pedals....wanted to pedal just couldn't reach them. Got her a TS3 bike (a boy's bike, yeah that's what she wanted laugh out loud), the smallest one. Put her on that thing with the training wheels of course and she was going by the end of the day. She's two and a half. Still a bit short for it but that didn't stop her!

Hello! I visited your store last night. Before we left home, I had my husband look at your avatar and told him if he spots that baby, tell me. He absolutely would have remember too. Me? HA! I'm doing good to recognize my own two!

Stopped at another one on the way too -- Beneful, Muffins, Fruit -- coupons went right through. Didn't find a Roomba at either -- well, I found one but it was $299. Forgot to take the numbers in to check the fire safes and I wasn't lugging all of them to the scanners.

Which reminds me. What the heck is the deal with your scanners? They said "Ready to Scan" but none of them would actually scan. Damn things.

*snip*
We were there yesterday AM Frown Yeah I got to thinking you would probably recognize my dd! The fire safes there (at lest the smaller one mentioned) were not lower than the shelf price Sadwalk And yeah, the scanners are crap there half of the time. Check item amt. screen or whatever came up for all of my $/$$ q's yesterday morning, hmmmmm.

Hopefully this keeps the husbands on their best behavior around this time. Otherwise their wives might just "accidentally" eat a big slice of cheesecake and drink a nice glass of wine on that day! Rofl2

If anyone is looking for a different sweet potato recipie ..this is really good and easy

Ingredients
5 medium sweet potatoes, scrubbed
4 bananas, unpeeled
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/4 cup honey
Kosher salt
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Prick the sweet potatoes all over with a fork, put them in a roasting pan and roast for 30 minutes. Toss the bananas into the pan and continue roasting for 10 to 15 minutes, until both the bananas and potatoes are very soft. Remove the pan from the oven but don't turn the oven off.

When the potatoes are cool enough to handle, scoop out the flesh into a large mixing bowl. Peel the bananas and add them to the bowl along with 1 stick of the butter, and the honey. Season with salt and beat vigorously with a wooden spoon until everything's well combined and the mixture is fluffy. Spoon into an oven-proof serving bowl and smooth the top.

In a separate mixing bowl, use your fingers to rub together the remaining stick of butter, the brown sugar, flour, and pecans until the mixture is the consistency of coarse crumbs. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the sweet potatoes and return to the oven. Cook for about 20 minutes, until the crumbs are golden. Serve hot

Seved these at a mexican themed baby shower and people raved

I need some pricing help! I found a metal Thomas the tank engine pedal car and have to get rid of one of the ones we already have. Embarrassment In my defense, I bought the fire truck and golf cart when 8 yr old ds was a toddler.

http://www.amazon.com/Pedal-Golf-...B000HBI1B2

Like this, but green. No toy golf clubs included. Paid $250 5- 6 years ago. I'm going to list it on Craigslist but not sure how much for. Looking at sites, I'm seeing $150 plus for metal pedal cars. It is in good condition because it was never really used.

If it's still in good condition (not lots of scratches or dings or dents) I'd do 150.00 OBO. That is cuuute! My kids would have a hayday in that.

Does anyone here buy specialty type cheeses? (like Alouette..etc) I found lots of good coupons for it but don't want to list them all if noone uses it. Anyone eat at The Cheesecake Factory? Found some coupons for that too.

I put it up for more than that 175 - 200, I've never seen that ,and alot of golfing dads would pay big bucks for it especially if it's in good shape.

It's adorable!
