Grrrr...... I see the author has written an apology at the bottom of her article but still.... Grrr....
I just can't believe the editor allowed such an article to be published. I'm not going to be wasting my time adding to the many, many comments calling her out for the article but I will be instead encouraging everyone I know to flood Marie Claire's Editor in Chief's E-mail In Box with complaints.
Why is it in this day and age of political correctness it is still acceptable for people to say the most hateful of comments about the overweight and they are able to get away with it based on the argument that weight is somehow something under our own control and therefore it is perfectly OK to insult those who haven't controlled it.
But I can guarantee that I'll never waste the keystrokes to get free Marie Clarie ever again! cool:

I stopped by Kroger on my way home and threw together a quick little run. Did pretty well and spend 4.XX oop. Yay.
DH's grandmother is in the hospital with congestive heart failure - 2nd time in a month. DH is a bit worried. She's his mother's mom and the same one who's hubby passed away this past winter. It's so hard seeing my hubby like this - he's not used to death, and this will be the 2nd major death in his life. They are talking about also possibly doing another pacemaker. I'm not sure how though - she's in rough shape and I don't know how she'd make it through a surgery like that. Anyway, keep us in your prayers please!

Slender girls get discriminated against as well. I hear other women talking bad about them when we are out getting drinks for instance. I'll hear other women saying stuff like that skinny Bioch makes me sick, or other really ignorant comments, when they see a girl in good shape. I guess because the girl looks good and there is a lot of jealousy. I hear stuff like that from women of course, as men don't care about comparing themselves to other men so much.
I hear the ignorant comments made about thin women as much as I hear ignorant comments about the larger women. In as much as no one should be making fun of an over-weight person, no one should be making fun of or mocking a slender person for trying to keep themselves in shape or exercising. Some people are born slim, don't exercise a day in their lives and always look good, but then there are the rest of us. And it takes a lot of work to maintain a nice figure for most of us. So when I see a thin in shape girl instead of getting upset, I recognize the hard work they must do and have done to get in such good shape. Then that motivates me to exercise a bit more.
