Scratchhead PT to me is paper towels. In this thread, it's usually Potty Training. Would this be Physical Therapy, or something else? I can guarantee I haven't, as no baby here.

I got a beautiful pendant from my husband for the birth of our second (his first) child.
I Heart it soo much!! Its hard to tell in the pic below, but it is a checkerboard cut! What I really love about it is she (who is now 4) would always ask me where I got it and I would tell her it was for having her. So now she tells ppl that the necklace is ours and mommy got it for having her! Wink

I think a necklace is a good idea be I know that when I have newborns, I stop wearing my rings bc I worry about them hurting the baby. Smilie

guybio - my mom got me a small sterling silver pendant and simple chain when my daughter was born. It is almost exactly like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Sterling-Si...B000OZT53O

Not super duper expensive, but I know she got it from a high-quality jeweler in the area and it has held up over time exceptionally well unlike the cheap sterling. I rarely take it off. It is very, very special to me - the only other piece of jewelry I wear regularly besides my wedding bands and med id bracelet.

hi all! too tired to multi quote, so i'll do this the lazy way.

bunnies - glad to hear you're feeling better. remember to drink lots of fluids today. or if drinking makes you nauseous, try getting those pedialyte pops and just suck on those. you need fluids and electrolytes to feel better.

migraine people - hope you're feeling better. i always feel worn out and out of sorts the day after a migraine. it's like someone clubbed my head. EEK! but it passes. and i found the fastest way to get a migraine to go, and get the after-migraine feeling to go - drink lots of water.

ank - hope you get some rest and feel better. my insurance went up in september and they sent a letter saying it's going up in january again. it's such a ripoff.

setsail - it wasn't me that wrote about literacy, but i think you were referring to this postby gt

guybio - redenvelope has a really nice set of necklace options for moms. one of the ones i like is this abstract shape of a mom cradling a baby. it really just looks like a nice swirling pattern unless you know what it is which is nice cos it isn't very literal. and you select the number of pearls to represent the babies. it's in silver. it's called the loving arms necklace. they also have an all silver one called the mother's love necklace that's cool-looking, too if she likes minimalist, silver necklaces.

rach - ipod, get to work on swagbucks/zoombucks. on sb you can even get paypal dollars and then use those towards the ebay purchase. or just get lots of zoombucks amazon gcs and get her a new one.

ank - totally love popping popcorn on the stovetop. so easy and much healthier than the bags. we stopped using microwave popcorn after learning that the lining is coated with the same chemical use to make Teflon and other stain/stick-resistant items. it is a carcinogen. EEK! i never cease to be stunned by what these companies put in our foods.

was going to go to T. couldn't make it yesterday. but all these crashing register stories are scaring me. i think i'm going to hold off for a few days. maalox, reach, seventh gen are ongoing deals so i think i should be okay. thoughts?

eta - bunnies, on ornaments and trees -- in my post grad school days when times were tough, i'd often get a tree on christmas eve. the tree sellers tended to abandon their yards or give away the trees for free so they didn't have to haul them. it was still beautiful to have a tree. and it would be a christmas eve tradition to trim before going to midnight mass. ornaments -- look at Target and other stores a few days after xmas, closer to new years. people are winding down their trees by then and the ornaments go on deep, deep discounts. i got the most beautiful ornaments 75% off at dillards in texas 10 years ago. they've been my ornaments every year since then. and then each year i just add to it a couple of boxes or so, from T or other places. costs me 3-4 bucks a year now to refresh the set and add some new ones, plus each time I put up the old ones I think of all the christmases past and the wonderful memories we have with them. Big Grin

decided to not go to the shower... still have done nothing of great value except for NOT locking everyone else in the closet... i feel very very cranky and think it's a combo of not feeling great, being over tired, and broken van and acting up car, and hubby who is not feeling well because of his fatty tumors AND he announced he'll be working overtime (which is good in a lot of ways, I'm just crabby and looking for an excuse to be a meanie) AND he's sleeping right now.

anyway... that's how it is at my house right now.

Oh.... except now I just won a huge pot in an online poker tourney. I haven't played in a while!

Percy - the dog - is doing pretty darn well. She *barely* limps now - and only after she gets overly rambunctious and jumps around a lot. Oh... our crazy neighbor is at it again. This time, she apparently called animal control because we didn't take the dog to the vet. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Hmm... lets see... feed my kids or take the dog to the vet er??

And I totally love popcorn on the stove. I don't like the taste of the bagged stuff. *shrug*

Ugh. I do need to do a *little* shopping today/tonight. We have some beef I can do something with for dinner, but lunch/dinner tomorrow is going to be annoyingly sparse.

hug Ank-screw your neighbors! Sounds to me like the doggie just sprained something and trust me from someone who has taken their dog into the vet numerous times for a limp and it ended up costing for them just to say here's some anti inflammatory and kennel him until it gets better, it sounds like you did the right thing.
How do you make popcorn on the stove? Embarrassment

I have been so bad I have no right to bop anybody. But, caramel. Mmm, I want some caramel and I have the what I need to make it too, I think. (it's dip or sauce like, not taffy type candies) So quick, easy and good. We only have two apples so I really don't think I can use that as an excuse. Although there is ice cream out there.... and brownie mix...

What is wrong with us lately? I know several of use are just not sticking with it and the holidays aren't even here yet so we can't blame that. Except thismom4deals -- she is doing fabulous! I'll bet she hits her next milestone at the Monday weigh in.

What a bitch. Did they show up at your door? Glad to hear she is doing fine. I figured she just had an owie, not a serious injury.

Me too. I've always wondered what that nasty taste is -- maybe it's that teflon stuff. Probably, not, I think it's that disgusting grease stuff -- I don't know what it is either.
Quote from ank220 :

How about beef and noodles and have it twice? If you can scrape up a dozen eggs, it's cheap to make and yummy.

I have removed the storm windows -- just let me interject that I HATE aluminum storm windows -- and cleaned the inside and the outside of the windows. Now I have to clean the storm windows and put them back in. I did the kitchen (4), the living room (5) plus + a picture window and the bathroom (1). The two bedrooms (2 + 3) will get it another day. Pfffllltttt, it's a guest room, I rarely go in and our bedroom where I close the curtain and sleep.

Hubby is back and is working on the soffit. He told me heard freezing rain and snow next Friday. Told him if he was gonna talk nasty like that to just take it outside.

Well, I know where you can get some of those.

PM your mailing address.

Used the Halls BOGO and it took off $0.04. Scared me enough to buy more Halls and try again with the BOGO coupon. Worked fine the next time. Just cashier scanned it wrong hopefully.

I would say your family is spoiled!! You round up an amazing Christmas, wowzers! I sure hope they appreciate how hard you work to get that all together, at least your DH and the older ones. I know the little ones think they guy in the red suit deserves all the credit. For the inlaws I would go for "Spa" baskets, but that is what we can afford. You know, a nice set of clearanced T towells, glade candles & sprays, razors, shower gel, etc.

The ideas posted are awesome. Another thought, because I just got one for my BDay and I LOVE it, is the 'new' charm bracelets. They are by Pandora you start with the silver or gold bracelet
http://www.pandoramoa.com/build/index.php

This page has a boy or girl gift set of beads for moms bracelet:

http://www.pandoramoa.com/series....=3314&pg=2

There are all kinds of places that sell knock off beads for the pandora bracelet as well, amazon has a tun.

I would say to start the Pandora bracelet you would need to get the bracelet of course, at minimun two clip stopper beads and one threaded bead (or three clip beads). The clip stopper beads clip onto those threaded parts on the bracelet and will keep the other beads from sliding all the way around the wrist, they section the bracelet off. The threaded bead or another clip stopper you will want for the threaded spot at the bracelet opening by the closure so the beads don't fall off when you take the bracelet off. All the other charm beads you get or the glass beads have the holes in the middle and they slide on and off the bracelet over the threaded parts.

I am going to buy a murano glass bead set from amazon, it is only around $8 or so for 50 glass beads or $13 for 100. The silver charms are meant to be collected as special memories through life like babies, vacations, etc. The glass beads can then be used to match the bracelet to any outfit since they come in tuns of colors.

There are also lots of knock of pandora bracelets as well, that look like the real thing, they just don't say Pandora on the closure clip. Pugster.com has had some good deals and have more charms than the pandora site. I am getting my MIL a lighthouse charm from Pugster.
