Kids are all awake here too. We're night owls, and poor dh has to be up at 5:30 on weekdays.
Our whole family is a bunch of night owls.. I am not a morning person at all!

Hey we all love free pizza! I'm so sad about the long gone days of Papa John peelies.
I miss them too.. Actually was thinking about it tonight. I saw a 007 movie that had a peelie on it.. What great memorieswoot

Man... I feel like falling over. I wonder if I ought not just skip the baby shower this afternoon and send the food/gift. I'm exhausted and kind of feeling like I want to cry. *sigh*

I really hate benefits enrollment time. UGH. They are changing several things and it's so annoying to read through it all. On top of it, it's only accessible online through DH's work website - and that's a whole 'nother animal in itself.

Can you tell I'm a wee bit frustrated this morning?? Ugh.

I need a nap.
hug Hope you are feeling better now!

Quote from bunnies46 :
I know that feeling! I have no good clothes either. DH gets upset with me because I don't buy myself anything, but we are hand to mouth and I'm sorry but the kiddo's come first.
I need new clothes so bad. My jeans are falling apart. But, I did find a pair buried in the closet that are in pretty good shape that I haven't been able to wear since I was pregnant with my DD.. And, I told my DH I need new PJs too. Every pair I have has huge holes in them.

Nope. I can automate the sign up process now, which means shenanigans for all of us when these coupons come

Today is my parents 34th anniversary. How on earth they haven't killed each other is beyond me...
I still think that is the most awesome thing.. 500 couponsBig Grin
Congrats to your parents..

I have been so bad I have no right to bop anybody. But, caramel. Mmm, I want some caramel and I have the what I need to make it too, I think. (it's dip or sauce like, not taffy type candies) So quick, easy and good. We only have two apples so I really don't think I can use that as an excuse. Although there is ice cream out there.... and brownie mix...

What is wrong with us lately? I know several of use are just not sticking with it and the holidays aren't even here yet so we can't blame that. Except thismom4deals -- she is doing fabulous! I'll bet she hits her next milestone at the Monday weigh in.

Come on now.. you guys all need to get back on track! We have pounds to lose before the holidays are here!

New coupon rule at my store. No more than 10 coupons can a customer use told to me by a new employee as he counts as he scans coupons.

GS said new rule is if more than 10 q's a manager must be called over.
To do what I don't know.

Really bummed by T right now.
That sounds crazy!

Quote from mamaoftwins2 :
M2C - I saw those signs today..Still got the CCV screen : I didn't find any $5.04 olay BW..All I found were $5.44 .Store was out of TGIF too .but olay toners, cleaners were stocked...:
They were signed for 5.44 here too. I got the ribbons, the quench., the big bottle of exfolitating purple kind. They all scanned for 5.04. I also grabbed a pack of the bar soap for 5.44.

I got the CCV screen on almost every coupon too! Weird thing was some of the identical coupons would bring up the screen while others didn't.

Had an amazing but busy day. We went to lunch with the inlaws and then took the family to the corn maze. It was so much fun. The kids never wanted to leave. I made it through all 3 mazes, so I figured I got a decent amount of exercise in... Gotta make up for the handful of fries I ate at lunch.
Then after the corn maze, we hit a few stores.. Didn't make it to half of the ones on my list.
Went to 2 targets, and a headache trip to TRU.. Gonna try to make it to JCP, CVS, Publix, and BBW.

I am so cold and really want coffee but I am out of decaf now.. guess I will grab a blanket and some water!

And, on the marriage talk.. 19 years and 11 months for us bounce

So I start chatting with him about the current coupon problems and about how I've been filling out my surveys and putting on there about how ridiculous it is, blah blah blah. He scanned like a champ, manually put in an extra .50 when my Glade only deducted $2.50, k1d where needed, and when 1 of my b1g1s deducted $5 and the next Q only took off $3.50, he manually entered another $1.50. At the end of my tranny the LOD walks by he mentions that the register is running really slow (which it was) so she stopped for a second and saw the pile of coupons and asked if there were any problems, and he said just a few, but that he had fixed them. So I say... yes, he fixed them all, he was a really GREAT cashier. And at the same time they both say... well he/I should be, he's/I'm the STORE MANAGER! :om g: I almost wet my pants right there. I mean, it wasn't a true STFC run, but it was close. I told him that I really appreciated how considerate he was about making sure that everything scanned correctly and that he was a great model for his employees. Then I told DH to push the cart as fast as he could to the parking lot.
WOW! I woulda felt like Faint right there, lol!

Quote from mama2cole :
Start The Farking Car - It's from an IKEA commercial where the lady thinks she got too good of a deal. :e vil:
That commercial always cracked me up "Start the car, start the car, WOoooooooooooooHOooooooooooooo!!!!" She just needed to be running out of Target with a cart so full things are flying off the top and rolling off the bottom.

He did call me and tell me he got a speeding ticket... :chai rbas::sl ap:
Oh no! Can he go to traffic school and get it dismissed? I have gone to traffic school twice now for speeding tickets and once you attend they dismiss the ticket. It does cost a extra $80 for traffic school but worth it for the dismissial and no increase on insurance, or loss of driving privilage. But you can only go once a year, luckily my speeding tickets were almost two years apart. Now I have 10 more months before I can get another, I mean I will never get another speeding ticket again!

Quote from tn_native :
They were from the printable thread, but were very short lived. Here was the post about them.
Thanks, I won't keep wondering and looking, yeah I bet they went real quick.
Quote from setsail :
I saw those signs last night and now the strict store near me now has the GSTL come over to scan ALL coupons. :ma d: I can't imagine how that is going to work when there is more than one customer ready to pay and coupons need to be scanned. What a pita.

How long we've been married- 18 years, 6 weeks.
I don't see how that is any kind of solution. I guess you need to start shopping with a decoy, have somebody shop with you that coupons and have them start checking out right before you do then the LOD will be distracted with them the whole time.

We found that 1/2 cup of clear Windex and a tablespoon of Dawn (the clear one, naturals or something like that) works better than the commercial soaps, and it's a lot cheaper.
Very interesting, I wonder if it would work in place of the soap my Kirby uses. It is more of a surface carpet shampooer, at least it doesn't seem to work that well.
Quote from ank220 :
I'd be tempted to organize a field trip just for the fun of it. I'd organize like 30 people or as many as possible. I'd give everyone a stack of coupons and have 'em all check out at the same time. Yeah, that would be fun to watch. I, naturally, would check out last so I could watch it all go down. :lo l:

I'm feeling ornery tonight...

I still have not organized myself to shop. I found enuf stuff to make chili for tomorrow (in the crock pot) but kind of salted it a bit much. I don't have a potato, so I am unsure how to fix it. It's not inedible, just saltyish.
That sounds like a fun field trip Roll I would love to be there.

I can't remember if I made our spagetti to spicy or to salty but I added some honey like a tablespoon or two and it helped, you could not taste the honey, but somehow it helped. If you try it take a half cup of chili out to test on with a few drops of honey, I don't want you to ruin it or anything. I hate when I do that! I did it to my guac the other day. Frown

Well you a youngin lil miss! laugh out loud I am 12 yrs older than you. I have only been extreme couponing for about 4 yrs. And when I started out (2 years befor that) I remember saving $80 at Walmart and still spending $200 and I thought that was awesome, I would only shop about once a month and it was always about the same. Roll Crazy

Then we finally got the internet at home and I slowely started learning how to get better and better at it.
Your lucky to have figured it out so young. We paid for every single diaper with our 13 yr and 7 yr DDs, they both wore Luvs most of the time. That is why when that very first Pampers GC deal happened at Target I turned into a crazy, nesting, shopping, maniac. I was a few months from my due date and I would make Target circuts, I stockpiled $5k of diapers and wipes! Oh and made like $500 in GC! It was insane! There were MQs for both the diapers and wipes, TQs for $5 off if you bought diapers and wipes and a TQ for a $5 GC when you bought diapers and wipes, I think after GC I was making $3 or $4 per set. I was only getting 4 sets of each at first then I upped it to 8 each shopping trip. My lil man is almost 2 and I have not 'paid' for a single diaper or wipe.

Yeah, I think there are several of us about the same age.. I am 39 Smilie Married at age 19!

I used coupons occasionally for the last 5 years or so.. But, got started with major coupon deals after I had my DD over 2 years ago. That is actually how I found SD. A good friend of mine had received a huge tote box of gerber baby food from a friend. I asked how they got so much of it, and she said it was free at target with coupons. I started searching the internet for the deal information, and finally found it. The deal was expired, but it led me here..
The first year or so, I was just getting started. Managed to get into a few of the HD online deals and stuff. Last year just before Christmas is when I learned how to really shop target.. So sad that shopping there this year won't be as fun. DH commented tonight that he sure missed the GC collection we had on hand. Seemed like we always had target GC, itunes, xbox, etc.. It was nice for a last minute gift.

ank... salty chili... don't know what stage of chili cooking you are at, but a few options:

1. cook some unsalted beans separately in water and then mix in with the chili. you can always just remove some of the salted beans from the chili before adding in the unsalted ones so as not mess up the proportion of the other spices.

2. if you have any extra meat mix that in.

3. another option, since you have it in the slow cooker... drain some of the water you have put in there. since the salt is dissolved in the water. and replace with plain water.

GG, your idea for the chili, great! I will have to remember. I HATE migrains too! They are the worst, and I hate throwing up. I get so sick I just have to lay still in the dark and hope I fall asleep, which is nearly impossible when a million swords are stabbing my head and elephants are sitting on it at the same time, oh and molten lava is rolling in my eyeballs, along with barbwire cutting through my head and stomach. hug hope it goes away, sometimes a ice pack helps enough I can fall asleep.

I just added a avacado and my guac was much better.

Oh yeah, ladies keep you eyes out for Duracell Peelies, I found a few. There are $1 TQs and also .75 cents. They go very nicely with the recent MQs. Also there is a pack for $9.99 and it has a free Tidetogo mini stain remover pen in it Roll The Duracell MQ did not beep and it autoed and attached. Whee Then gave the TQ last and it did not beep and took of the full $1.

We're close to the same age. I turned 39 in September. And like you Nikayla, I was lucky to remember to use any coupons for anything but diapers and formula. I didn't discover slickdeals until early 2007, didn't start to pay attention to the Target thread (even though I shopped at Target almost daily even then) until months later, with Luvs and Homemadesimple coupons. Then there was a Gerber coupon later that year, then that great summer of 2008 Pampers diapers and wipes deal. I still have wipes from then. laugh out loud

Oh yes I remember the Luvs, but see I didn't know I would be preggers so I only 'bought' 4 total packs and then gave those away. I thought they took up to much room in my cart and I had so much JMS to get and HMS coupons to use, oh and salsa Teehee my cart ended up being to full for those big packs of diapers. Then I got pregnant and the pamper deal came around, suddenly I shopped a LOT more and had lots of room for diapers in my cart laugh out loud

It was so funny that you had to buy the three pack of wipes along with the single pack of diapers, I sold half my wipes at GS for $3 a pack. And I still have lots of them left, thank goodness they haven't dried out or gotten moldy or something weird. Opened a new pack of wipes today and they still smell new. Oh yeah my BDay is in Sept too, the 13th, cool.

Okay.. All of us September babies.. I remember now, setsail.. you and I turned 39 on the same daySmilie

And yes on the pampers deal.. I almost forgot. That was my first big deal. I have sold so many wipes at yard sales. I used to wonder too why we had to get so many wipes in relation to diapers with that deal. I remember the target 5.00 off coupon working along with the target gc coupon! those were great days!!

I remember my mom using coupons and saving them for double/triple days at the grocery store. laugh out loud I used them off and on through my adulthood, but never super couponing. I didn't' do that until we were on 1 income and needing to cut our grocery budget by like 60%. I knew I had to do something extreme and that there was surely someone out there doing it already - so I got online and searched for how to save on the grocery budget. I stumbled across HCW. My first big stockpile was cheerios and pasta - paid tax and was totally hooked.

I came to SD through HCW - people talked about it, I got curious and eventually found it. I hated the site and rarely came on for quite some time. (I found it confusing and thought it completely unorganized). When I did come on, I think it was just in the Wags threads, then I eventually found the rest by what folks would say. I remember reading about a pampers deal (not in the T thread), and I couldn't figure it out so I never did it. I could Slap myself for that! (I don't know if it's the same one - it would've been almost 3 years ago now) But... live and learn.

[QUOTE=Dazzledby5;34012963]Had a STFC run today, then this guy walks up behind me and shouts "I never knew SO MANY CPOUPONS even EXISTED!'' just as I had about a dozen or so Qs left. He goes to another regisater, pays and leaves, I follow out shortly after that. I told my DS#1 to park the cart the under the trunk lift gate as I buckle the baby in. Just after I close her door I hear a L.O.U.D. rev of a engine and then a big ass boom - crash.

That stupid MFer that had made the comment to me earlier is parked right next to me and floored it - bashed into the MACH truck extra kid cart that HE had left right in front of his SUV and smashed it into the Target building, then it comes and rolls into my BRAND NEW VW!!! At this point I am shaking in fear, but decide to check out my car for any damage, there is none but the guy starts going, ''It is fine, SHUT UP KIDS, it's not even my cart, someone left it right in front of my car"

I'm all like (in my head) right asshole, I saw you in the store with it, then I realize he is most likely drunk but it is raining freezing cold rain drops at 48 degrees and I'm not wearing a coat and I am trembling in fear already -- I cant find my phone, I am worried for the 2 kids I have with me and the pen that is supposed to be in my purse ISN"T. He the pulls away - nicely out of the space - but then peels out around the corner to pull in front of T - where all the people get in and out of:

EEK!, Glad you and the kids are safe

Glad you had a good day somewhere Wink

[QUOTE=flugette;34016681]And can I just : a little bit? I had a yard sale this morning, and am SO excited!!!! I made $500!!!! That's a record for me. It also means I have to get shopping because I have 2 more flea markets this month and my inventory was significantly depleted today. I still have enough, but need more variety.

/QUOTE]

Congratulations, that was a nice haul
Quote from Nikayla :
, I stockpiled $5k of diapers and wipes!
