My mil isn't too bad, she is very traditional. But she has always been here to help us out, and I'm thankful my kids have one normal grandparent. I'd like them to know my parents but at the same time I want to protect them from the life I had, so I'm torn. And nnot sure I can deal with that.
Night all
Night all
I know I probably shouldn't have said so much, because who knows what people are thinking at this point. But I have no one to talk to so, this is a release for me that is much needed
If it helps to talk, I am here. I don't mind listening.
eta weird thing just happened. My phone rang, it's almost 3 am here, and the person asks for me by name. Said I gave him my number, and he had given me his. And thinking back, I've had a bunch of hang up calls on my cell phone in the last few days. All are out of state area codes.
I don't give my number out often but I did post it in my Craiglist ad for the golf cart I'm trying to sell. And I passed out business cards with my name and email during my last yard sale. Now I'm feeling a little paranoid.
I know you hate where you live now, but ya know, I remember Henderson how is was 30 yrs ago when I spent whole summers at my grandma's and I loved it all. I know it is nothing like it was then but I still have family and friends there and I just love visiting there. Have considered moving there too. Now don't get me wrong, there are parts that I DO NOT like, especially how Vegas has become such a party town, not that it ever wasn't. But it did used to seem like Vegas was far far away from Henderson. Oh wait, it WAS. lol, not so much anymore, man that place has exploded since my granny lived there.

I don't have anyone here that will. DH doesn't understand,or want too for that matter, and I have a sis but she's out of state and we barely talk anymore, and no friends.

If you keep to yourself, no one else can let you down. That's a lesson I learned a long time ago, sounds like one you learned too.

Dh has a huge family but he is only close to his mom and brothers they are number 1 for him, and he could live without the rest of the family, he doesn't like drama.

What does your dh do? Sorry you have to be home by yourself.. HUGS!!
I understand.. when I go to my dd's school they are snobs So I tend to be more reserved b/c I am appaled at the kids behavior.. I watched a little kindergardener tell the teacher my mommy says I do not have to listen to anyone that makes less money than her.. it was devasting...matter of fact, if you heard of wegmans grocery stores, it is the granddaughter (the mom who is now president of wegmans) of the original founder and they are worth major $$...and my kids hang out with them yuck : ( LOL
My DH is a Event Construction Forman. Things were just starting to pick up when the economy crashed. His whole job depended on the motorsports events that big companies like BF Goodrich, Toyo Tires, Ford, Jeep, all gave lots of sponsor money too. Then the crash and we all know what happened to the automotive industry. He builds the event courses. Here is a UROC rock crawling course he built, those are not rocks the 4x4 are crawling on, he built those massive things. They could build 50 swimming pools with all that cement!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9...re
That course is still there, it is more of a permanant one.
This one was build right next to the Las Vegas strip, on the convention center parking lot. Those are hay bales under all the cement and they had to tear it all down and throw it away. I did want to keep those trees (not the big palm trees, the little ones close to the course) and greenery they had there but by the end of the week they had been crashed on by so many vehicles they didn't survive.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6UEO13
He also built this totally different type of course for Lucas Oil http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlrGrwz
This is the one he just built and tore down in Vegas these past two and a half weeks. He will finally be home Monday! They are just getting the parking lot swept up today.

And this one, professionally filmed, interview:

At 28 to about 32 seconds it shows what he built in the above clip.
You know I really want to go in one of those trucks going off a jump,
So yeah tuns of travel and hard work.
I can sheepishly admit that it's kind of like meeshe's house here, but it's so much better than it used to be. I used to find that I was ebaying hundreds of nwt items every year so (and this has been really hard!) I've cut back on the clothing I buy. It does help that the older kids can't wear cute matchy Gymboree any longer. That was half the fun of shopping.

Oh I know I would come home to a massive disaster area. It would be horders scary, floor to ceiling crumbs and trash everybody leaves lying all over. I always wondered who was selling all those NWT clothes on the bay, haven't looked at clothes on the bay in years.
Once upon a time, it seemed like a lot of clothing on eBay was people selling stuff they had bought for their families. In the last few years or so I've noticed that a lot more of the nwt stuff was people buying specifically for re-sale. Only time it bothered me was when they bought out entire stocks of the really good clearance and sales deals at Gymboree, then could list stuff as HTF and charge more than original retail. There was a certain sweater and tights in 2004 that come to mind.
eta I'm off to bed now! It's way way too late here now.
Had an abcess in my wisdom tooth. Got some antibio's and pain meds and headed out to Houston. Spent two nights there and now we are in Austin, going home tomorrow.
Tomorrow is DS birthday party. Soooo excited. I got this massive whale bounce house slide. He doesn't know it but begged for one for his party. It's a Lego party.
Up with massive heartburn. Had to drive to this store near the hotel to get milk and TUMS and it was scary. People are weird.
I enjoyed hearing your stories of how you came into this extreme couponing
Nice pics of the kiddos Ank and Myluv!!!
Jamie - great to hear from ya!!!! We all miss you when we don't hear from you!! Hope you had some good shopping trips.

I'm a cat lady. Eh.
Which sort of leads to a funny story.
Just don't become THE cat lady...
but all you sleep-deprived moms here, why aren't you grabbing that pillow and nabbing the extra hour of turn-back-clock sleep that's awaiting you?
Insomnia/over-tired here. Besides... THEY know there's an extra hour, so to compensate, they are staying up an hour later and will undoubtedly wake up 1-2 hours earlier.
So CUTE! And she does look very ghostly in those pics!
My bestfriend sister Mavis, so freaking adorable!
Hope you all get feeling better.
Who knows - maybe I'll get richy rich after the next tourney! DD favorite thing to do is pretend to be a ghost. Most of her pics turn out like that because she does NOT sit still - ever.

My brother always told me I was old before my time.
I never had good/responsible parents either - and a lot of the work fell to me as the oldest. Our "family" had its share of major issues - sounds like a lot of us did.
I am blessed with fairly decent in laws - they have their fun quirks, but they are decent folks!
I don't know how or why a family can have such emotional hold on us, but my family certainly did. I wish I had cut off ties earlier than I did, but I eventually did and am not sorry for it at all. I still have crazy moments where I think "did I do the right thing? shouldn't the kids know their family - even the bad parts??" In reality, I did do the right thing and in this case, the kids don't need *that* family. I had to ask myself, if I met them on the street and found out how they were right there, would I take them home and have them around my family? The answer is always "no" (well, it's a little more emphatic than that, but it's not lady-like to say some things out loud...) I wouldn't tolerate it from "friends" - why is it any different for "blood"?

Ugh... why does everything taste like soap today??
Oh no! Can he go to traffic school and get it dismissed? I have gone to traffic school twice now for speeding tickets and once you attend they dismiss the ticket. It does cost a extra $80 for traffic school but worth it for the dismissial and no increase on insurance, or loss of driving privilage. But you can only go once a year, luckily my speeding tickets were almost two years apart. Now I have 10 more months before I can get another, I mean I will never get another speeding ticket again!

stressed much?
so, you have to cut the cycle. get a bottle of melatonin from the drugstore. a few of my friends swear by it. it's a natural sleep chemical released by the body to bring about sleep. so taking the bottled one aids in falling off to sleep faster. they say there's no exhausted hang over like sleeping pills. no restlessness. it's just a relaxing gently slide into sleepiness. i've never tried it because it's contraindicated for migraine sufferers, but those who take it love it.
I got in on that Pampers deal, as well. And the Target gift card Q was not smart at all, and couldn't count.
I guess I've been doing T for about 5 years now, maybe a little less. I was a lurker for a long time before I started posting. Seriously, though, coupons has gotten us through so many tight spots in the last five years.
And as for in-laws, mine are better than some, I guess.
Hubby comes from a divorce situation - his dad remarried and had two more kids. When his daughter graduated from high school this past June, he bought her a brand new Mustang, top of the line. And then gave hubby her old Ford Escort. Growing up, my husband and his brothers were lucky if their dad remembered their birthday or Christmas. And yet, somehow, hubby has never shown one ounce of jealousy or envy for how his half brother and sister are treated, despite the glaring inequities. To me, its like his dad doesn't feel that his three older sons are really part of *his* family, KWIM? And since they're grown, he doesn't have any more responsibility for them.
It frustrates me, but I am so proud of my husband that he hasn't let it become an issue for him.
Home from church because Lillian had a low-grade fever yesterday and through the night. No fever now, so I guess it was some kind of infection her body was fighting.

Part of me wishes I had a family, like all my friends. They're all so happy (or pretend to be). I'm just not ready to give up my routine and my way of doing things just yet. Maybe that would change if I met the right person, but for now, I'm a cat lady. Eh.
Which sort of leads to a funny story. I was bored one day and on the Bloomingdales site and got caught up in wedding stuff and decided to make a registry (just, you know, in case...and for the free stuff). Well, I needed a grooms name and the first name that came to mind was Toby (which is my cats name). Apparently the number I gave them was my parents number and my mom called and wanted to know why Bloomingdales called about Toby and my wedding. I pretty much died. But I got some awesome freebies from Bloomies for it
I'm 20+ years older than you and I AM the cat lady.
You are quite creative in regards to the wedding registry.
Loneliness is the worse part of not having a SO, or good friends (or a Dad to use as a sounding board). I go entire 3 day weekends without talking to anyone. I always told my Dad that being well paid was great, but not having someone to share your life with was awful. I'd give up my $$ and well paying job for an honest, loving, dependable Christian man in a heartbeat. Doesn't matter what they look like. Looks can be gone in an instant. It's whats inside that counts.
