Oh, not it didn't get leggy. It HAD leaves all the way down. Too much sun and wind and it probably could have had a leeeetle more water. Then brought it in the house the night we were having our first hard freeze and it was all downhill from there.

I bought some grow bulbs because there are a couple other plants I want to try winter. I would like to save this one too but not if it won't grow new leaves -- and for some reason, I don't think it will. It looks just a bit ridiculous.
shock from being brought indoors. ficus benjamina is very famous for dropping all it's leaves whenever it is moved. i don't know if other plants in the same family react so dramatically.

there is a gradual method of getting a plant used to the different temperature, lower light and humidity inside a house but i admit to being very lazy about it. i have a calamondin orange that has survived my black thumb 10 yrs cuz luckily it is extremely drought tolerantlaugh out loud. it stays outside from may to oct under the portico and is ok if i forget to water it for 2 wks in the middle of the summer. i have had it drop every single last leaf inside the house, mostly b/c of low light and still come back to life.

you should do some research to see what the best technique to revive it is. but most likely they will say to cut it down and it will sprout new shoots. i would try anyway and see b4 i gave up on it.

i saw the platform drawer that the keurig would sit on top of in a circular and if you are short on space it looks pretty nice for what it is.

eta- sorry i left the siggy on!

Awww Bunnies! I didn't mean it that way! I am just NEVER there to read that thread. I generally read the last page and the first page, that's it LOL. I don't have the time like I used to, although I've been on a lot this week! Of course, that's because I'm procrastinating about doing something else
It's all good...I just sobbed for a few hours, lit my glade candles, drank a cup of coffee..it's all good...

Now that I have made you feel bad for shattering my dreams..I should say...No worries, I didn't take it personally. I'm a character. I think I fall into the catergory of you either hate me or love me. woot

I do read almost all of the post on 4 threads. I do it because I can't help myself. Plus I have been able to chime in a few times and protect my chat buddies from the evil that lurks on the pages.

well then sweetie pie, it's time to change that tap water part. have you heard of a book called "write it down, make it happen" ?
i'm not big on self help books and such, but this one, i highly recommend. i implemented it in my life and it worked and worked beautifully. it's a powerful book on manifesting one's wishes.
OR..instead of us reading the self help books..we could just say...greenie..this is my wish or desire..whatcha gonna do to make it come true for me! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

How are you feeling today?
I had a migraine once..and it was the most painful thing I have ever gone through. Any noise at all was to much to take. I had to go lie down in complete dark and not have any noise. Finally I got to the point where I went to the doctors, he gave me a shot in my ass and all was well again.

I have a meeting that I am suppose to be at in a little while..I'm ditching it..I think I feel a cold coming on (cough, sniffle, cough). So I'd better just stay in and rest.

By the way, what's the background for your username gt?
Years ago when we first got the internet -- with a Webtv (stop laughing) I needed a user name. I had initially chosen my first and middle initial and last name. Duh, not a good idea -- except that people thought it was a state abbreviation and a ball team name. Anyway, decided I really needed something less identifiable and was trying to come up with something. Hubby suggested gt6mk3 -- It's a little car we have. 1973 Triumph Grand Touring 6, Make 3. I used it and it just stuck. When I needed a hotmail user name gt6mk3 was taken so I stuck a 1 on the end.

We still have the car. It's in a garage on the other side of the state and we haven't done anything with it. It's actually in pretty decent condition and hubby turns the engine over (or something) occasionally so it doesn't seize up. He would like to get it up here and get it going. I don't know where in the heck he thinks we are going to put it though. Our garages are FULL.

Well, then maybe I shouldn't have thrown those dried out dead leaves away! But hey, if you need to know how to dry your plants, just put them out by my pond, sunburn them, then beat them to death with northern Iowa winds.
Quote from flugette :
High Five Hubby is funny, 'cause now he's all fired up about getting the carpet cleaned.
I used mine a lot. I have used it a couple times in the past week. Ok, so once was when this dog peed on my floor. The other night I dumped a glass of root beer. Grabbed the cleaner, sucked it up, rinsed it out. That's what's really nice about having one. Anytime I get the least little spill, I can just clean it right up instead of blotting and dabbing and then still leaving a shadow/stain. It's in the closet right next to the vacuum -- handy to grab.
Quote from thismom4deals :
She goes through these phases where she has more accidents on the floor
My mom asked me yesterday if Coco has had anymore accidents. I told her they AREN'T accidents -- she squats and pees on purpose. But, no she hasn't and yesterday she started going OUT the doggy door so I have high hopes that she will go out on her own to potty. Now, I take her to the door, tell her to go out and she does and she goes. I want her to go all by herself without me taking her to the door. It's getting cold and I need to be able to go away and leave her in the house. The couple times I have left her alone, it was nice out and I shut the door so she couldn't come back in the doggy door.

Never cut down a tree in my life. We always had an artificial tree growing up, dh always had real. Noticed a striking rise in allergy symptoms as we went around to various family Christmases on dh's side
Have fun. It seems like pine trees are kind of a weird thing to be allergic to. Bummer. But I have this feeling you might come home with one. We have an "ornament" for our tree that goes on every year. It's a slice of the trunk of the first real tree we had -- with a little hole drilled through it for the hook. We also seem to have an obsession with bringing home the fattest one we can find.

The guy across the state where we used to get them loved to see me come because he knew we would take trees that normal people thought were too big.

Lub onion rings... *sigh*
There's that onion ring talk again. Do we need to have onion ring day?

It's raining today and it's suppose to continue all day. I'm pretty sure I am seeing some white flakes mixed in now and then. No working outside today.

We have one room in the basement that isn't finished yet and it tends to become a junk heap. I clean and organize it and a couple weeks later it looks like a hurricane went through. In all fairness, it is where we keep the remainder of building materials and a lot of the tools. We sold a small house a couple months ago and brought all the left over supplies and tools home -- guess where they got dumped? So, that is going to be today's project. AGAIN. With the other house sold (we were fixing it up) we will probably get back to work on our basement. I will be so glad to have all these damn building materials used and out of my way. Lumber in the garage, insulation and more lumber in our son's room, drywall in the uncompleted room, electrical stuff and rolls of wire.....

Bunnies, I am making my first trip to RA tomorrow for this current week - any particular scenario that is working for you?
This current week meaning on sale through tomorrow the 13th?
I ask because some in Cali have different ad dates. I almost missed your post. Next time send me a pm so I can try and help you out. Is there anything in particular that you are looking for?

Oh, forgot to mention my countertops are FINALLY all done and so is the sink. Only thing left is the tile on that side of the kitchen and it's done.....that part isn't too bad because we can get most of the power tools and other junk put away. Still messy and I refuse to clean out there until the grout is done because it's just going to get dirty again. Should be done by next week I would think. A very wonderful friend from church volunteered her dh to come help my dh do this last night! This faucet is sooooooo much nicer than the old one and the sink basins are an inch deeper - makes a huge difference when you don't have a dishwasher!

I know you are thrilled to have the kitchen almost finished!!! I wanna see pics! I've been delaying our backsplash install because I don't know what I want to do with it. I have backsplash web sites bookmarked. Teehee
