Oh, that would be hilarious. Big Grin Especially since the people that had two spaces had lots of their stuff in cardboard boxes. I just don't think that's a good way of drawing people to your table. Looks rundown and unprofessional to me. My bins aren't all the same color or whatever, but at least they're all bins and organized neatly, with items clearly priced. That was another thing - they had printed out huge numerals on paper and then taped those on their boxes, and that is how everything was priced. I just prefer to be a little more subtle about things, a little more classy, I guess. laugh out loud Now don't y'all tell me that's how you price/store your things, or I will fall down in embarrassment...

Most of my Qs are cut for the SIL and her family. . . unfortunately, they couldn't make ends meet if they didn't coupon right now. I've helped out every way that they will let me. I paid for the 2 years of private high school for one of them (as their grandparents, who promised to pay for their schooling, backed out of paying, because the grandparents decided they had to buy a new Cadillac Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)) I bought a used Corolla (I wasn't fixing to let her go 400 miles from home in a 92 Paseo) for the 2nd niece that plays BB in college on the payment plan (them paying me back), but things aways come up (this isn't stuff most of ya'll don't know about... sick kids, washer breaks, leaking plumbing, the list goes on and on). The rest I either use myself, trade on SD, RAOK for others or use them to help others (Christmas Charity donations, Can-A-Thon, Toys for Tots, Adopt a Senior, etc).

Different topic. How do you donate baby food? There is a decent deal right now at Publix, but they all come in glass jars, and none of the charities (even the food bank) will take food in glass jars.
Well, hug to you for being so thoughtful for your family. I know that means a huge amount to them. And I hope you are able to find a way to keep getting your inserts. I am so thankful that I found my recycling center and I think I will cry if I ever get asked to leave. I don't see that happening, because really, no one monitors it. Its run by the town to pay for upkeep on the main drag, but its situated on high school property. Every once in a while when I'm there, a county truck will stop and the guy will check all the dumpsters, pick up any misc trash lying around, and then drive off. Other than that, there's no one around, other than people dropping off junk and other people digging through it. Big Grin Maybe there's something like that near you?

As for the baby food, is it possible you could leave it at the nursery of your church? Or leave it at a church? Churches always get called with requests for food/money for food.

Did a little over $500 at our GS today and I had very little stock. I haven't been shopping much at all since JMS bit the dust. Of course with the new update that will all change. Evil It was by far the best sale we've had and the first time we've done it this late. Sold every single one of those .97 Colgate toothbrushes for $1 each. I almost felt guilty about it. Almost. Yay on the great GS!! That's what I made last week and I was stoked. Went right out and bought a carpet cleaner.

Oh, I want to start wrapping presents, too!! I actually have a couple already, which is very good for me. And I know what I want to get to finish off the kids, too. Now I just gotta figure out all the nieces and nephews, parents, parents-in-law, etc. Although the main gift for everyone this year is going to be family pictures from us. We have not had "official" family pictures done since my son was born, 5 years ago... Faint

I used to hit the recycle bin at the newspaper too until they relocated.. But, I know someone else who was getting inserts and got caught and was told not to come back. It was nothing about liability and injury, but comment about getting the inserts for free and not paying.

As far as the baby food.. I had no idea that they didn't take glass jars. I think that is crazy.. We donate alot of food, diapers, and stuff like that to the crisis pregnancy center here, they take almost any kind of baby stuff.
It is very nice that you help out others hug

This was not our best sale, but we did make about the same thing.. Cleared about $515.00. I too didn't have near as much as usual since the deals died months ago.. But, I finally sold almost all of my SB power sprayer things that never sold before.. Also got rid of some junk from the garage.. old bikes, sleeping bags, exercise equipment.
My toys sold fair.. Sold about half of what I took.. Not one trio or LPS toy soldFrown I think those things are just too overpriced in the store. I can't imagine paying full retail of 9.99 for them.. I tried selling them at 5.00 and they didn't move. I decided whatever toys I had left were going into the toys for tots box.. and I dropped the extra 25 boxes of fiber plus and special k cereal off at the food bank. I did not want to bring anything extra back!

Best thing was, I found a craigs list post last night for a freezer.. DH contacted the guy today and we left the yard sale and went and looked at it. Got a 19 cu upright freezer for 100.00woot I was very excited! Made enough at the sale for a freezer and a new washing machine too I think.

Yeah, you can sign up on the web page. When my DD was born, I signed up once in my name to my address and once to MIL in my husbands name. We got a sample case of formula and coupon checks to each address.

I am so tired after getting up early for the sale today.. Worked til 2 at the yard sale, went and picked up the freezer, came home and cleaned out the garage, then went to dinner and target. Didn't get much a target.. wouldn't ya know it, now I have coupons and freezer space, but the TGIF were gone laugh out loud

Wave I'm soooooo tired. I think I've been more tired than I thought over the past few weeks. Just not feeling myself lately.

Tomorrow will be very nice to rest.

No T today - which is okay because I feel lost with what may or may not be on sale/a good deal lately. I managed a Kroger run and did pretty good. My last discount didn't come off because I was short 1 item, but it still worked out well. I kind of wish I'd gone back because I had picked up a 10lb bag of chicken quarters that was marked down to 2.19 and I didn't realize it - would've been nice to see if they had more. But... I'm happy.

Not much else to report.

We haven't had an official family picture since 2000. My oldest was 4, dd#2 was not quite 2. Always mean to but never get around to it. At least people get pictures of the kids, which is what they are usually asking to see. laugh out loud

Laugh for the evening- earlier, 8 yr old ds told dh that he (dh) needs to take hacking lessons so he can get ds' favorite shows (Sonic the hedgehog, for one) back on Netflix for instant viewing.

Now, I told monkey toddler to stop climbing on something. 8 yr old turned to him and said, "Yeah stop doing that. Sometimes you can be such a b*tch".LMAOEmbarrassment

mlj, the last time I had a professional picture of the kids, other than school pictures and Santa/Easter Bunny, was probably 2005. I take a lot of pictures on a weekly, even daily, basis, but it's a pita to try to do professional picture.

Some lady came into CVS and grabbed a drink while I was checking out. There were problems with coupons, a RC, etc. So the lady got fed up and left. And the cashier decided to blame me for CVS losing business and that situations like this are the reasons CVS "shouldn't even bother with coupons".

Okay moms, I need some help again!

I saw that in the "snow" ad a DS lite is $89. I could probably PM this at Target, but I am not sure if I want the Lite.

I am really not able to make up my mind, if I should get her the Lite, or if I should just go all out and get the DSiXL and be done with it. I see that the main issue with the DSiXL is that it won't play gameboy advanced games, some of which we have. However, we only have 4 of those and like 50 other DS games, so that shouldn't be a huge deal, right?

What are the recommendations?

Also, I'm going to be going through the BF ads on monday and trying to find the best deals on everything kid related. If anyone wants my list, let me know. A lot of things I am going to attempt to PM to target, but I'm not sure how/if that will work!

And, yes, you guys will have first dibs on Kohls Qs. Do you really think I'd let you guys keep paying? No way. I'll be selling some, but I need people to test the e-junkie store and make sure it's running okay- I'll set up a promo code or something for you guys.
yippeee on the keurig and congratulations! nicely done! that must have been very effortful to get to the point of being able to buy it - you're an inspiration, girl.

and Blowkiss for so generously thinking of sharing with tcc'ers. that's incredibly sweet of you.

speaking of sweet, i'm no longer a kohl's virgin! LMAO did my first purchases today, thanks to a super sweet person who shared some qs with me and taught me the basics. sweet it was. found a jedi, too, making it triply sweet. so, a big, big, big Blowkiss to the super sweet person. and thanks to all of you for all the tips you shared.

learned 2 things there:
1. if you buy a bunch of things but then change your mind and want to remove some from your order, got to do that before they ring up the qs. or else it won't let you delete items.
2. if you got to CS to return, and you paid with a card, if you specifically ask for cash, they are allowed to return to you as cash instead of putting back on your debit/credit card.

Going to work today. 19 days or so left at Kohler. Still no contract for the union employees. Working day to day wondering if you are going to go on strike sucks.

My JCP is CLOSING. So my backup job when ever I am laid off at Kohler is now officially gone. Store closes at the end of Januaury.

Trying to refinance my place before I am laid off and emploment ends at all spectrums.

Life is a bowl of cheeies. Love them pits.

Plus I started gaining my weight back. Plan on going to the gym today. October was a bad month for me mentally.

I know I will be in here more when I am unemployeed.

Chat later today.
ko, as you probably know kohler has a long history with protracted and painful union strikes and even went into the guiness for that. so, you are right to not hold your breath on them coming through. hug that's truly no fun and understandably stressful.

do you have a home depot or lowes near you? or even some sort of a bath store? not sure what you do at kohler, but perhaps with that experience you could go over to the retail side and know the product line/competing lines and be able to advise clients etc. most retailers are hiring at this time of the year...

not sure what department you work in at jcp, but could you try for a similar dept at a competitor?

at any rate, holding you in my prayers tonight...

and DON'T, DON'T, DON'T let it get off your diet. when i get into super stressful times, i make it a point to excercise harder, or go for a run or such, just to blow off some of that pent up stressful energy and not turn it toward food. and i also make a particular point of not having any boxed/bagged snack foods at home. only fruits and veggies.

OMG! I am having such luck lately. My bank would only refund $35 of the overdraft fees. Still waiting on paypal. Now 4 items I have shipped have been delivered and feedback left but they have not released the funds. Paypal is driving me CRAZY!!!!
oh hon! hug
on the bank... keep calling back. i had a bank layer 14 overdrafts once. we kept calling for 6 weeks. some reps said no go. others agreed to turn over 1 or 2. eventually we got all 14 turned over. just keep trying, be polite but persistent, blame the bank every time politely and do not under any circumstance let them point the finger elsewhere. you'll get it all back. praying for you tonight also. your luck will turn around. i promise.

Another bummer today. I was asked very nicely not to recycle bin dive at the news courier, because of insurance liability .... I don't get enough inserts from the paper guy (usually 10) to make it worth the drive 28 miles one way on Sundays IF I don't get to recycle bin dive at the news courier, where their paper guys dump their papers. I don't know what I'm gonna do. This is the BEST place in 3 counties to dive, as all the papers are stacked together for the same date, which makes easy pickings.
can you ask if they would consider letting their paper guys put the papers out on the side, and you would look through them, get what you need and put all the papers into the bin yourself?
or what if you connect up with a few more paper guys and ask them if they'll let you get the inserts somewhere at the end of their route, before they get to the newspaper lot. and you could thank them in stockpile items?
or, are there any stores near you or halfway to the paper lot, and ask the store if you can get the inserts at the end of the night before the paper guy arrives? or maybe find out what time the paper guy gets there and meet up with that guy and see if he'll give you inserts.

Quote from setsail :
.... I just don't get people that think they are too good for couponing.
you know, I daresay, i might have fallen in that category up to about a year ago. not that i thought i was too good for it/it was beneath me, but just that i really wasn't aware of the extent of savings, and possibilities of doubling, catalinas, pairing with store sales and layering on store qs. i didn't know any of that. nor did i know that you could buy things you wouldn't eat and then use the savings from that for things you would. so for the few times i looked through an insert over the years, i just saw coupons for 50c off this and 20c off that and 1/3 this and that and most of the things were things we didn't use. on the rare occassion that i saw a q for listerine or something else we used, it was a 50c or 30c or something q... and at the end of that I just concluded that there were no big savings to be had and for the little savings that there were a) it wasn't worth the cost of buying a paper, cos the paper cost 6-7-8 times as much laugh out loud and/or b) it wasn't worth my time to go through all the trouble of finding a paper, rifling through inserts, looking for any useful qs, and then hoping that there would be one I needed, only to get 30c off.
i had no idea you could see insert coupon lists online. and of course i had no idea of the enormity of savings.
but now, i do Evil

i have never heard that prior purchase nonsense at any store. the whole point of a missed q is that you missed out on giving a q on a purchase you did. how would one do missed qs on future purchases? LMAO
that lady clearly was just making things up out of her behind and had no idea what she was talking about and probably had no idea how to do a missed q, or a return/rebuy in the same transaction.
i'd just go to the friendly store and do the missed qs there. you should have no issues.

Why not wait a few more months and get the 3DS? That sounds very neat. The girls like the PSP more than the DS though it does have fewer games for younger kids.
