The k-cup prices on Amazon recently SKYROCKETED. And I mean by a lot. For instance used to be that these [amazon.com] were around $21.00-$23.00 per box of 50....and then they would often include them in their Friday sales and the price would drop to about $19.00-$20.00. On top of that you could get another 15% discount using Subscribe & Save, which is no longer even an available option. So, the total came out to a little over $16-$17 max. for 50 k-cups...I recall a couple times where they were even cheaper because of coupon codes, etc.

And that was just one example....most all varieties they sold were similar....Amazon's wholesale prices went WAY up (seemingly because Green Mountain Coffee has bought so many of the k-cup companies out) and now has a monopoly of sorts, dominating the market. Not to mention I'm sure the cost of coffee has gone up in general.

Anyway, now the reg. price for that same product is $27.xx, no S&S option and who knows if they'll have any sales Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Luckily I am stocked up for awhile and currently Kohls prices don't seem to have suffered much but I worry that they and others are next Dontknow

Thanks for the info! Sucks about the prices skyrocketing!

I haven't used my Keurig in, like, 2 weeks. It's not as fantastic as I thought it would be...but apparently that's just me. I went back to using my French press.

Went to T and saw way too many people in parkas and wool coats and Uggs...it was 65 today. laugh out loud Are there any deals I'm missing out on? I finally have a ST and now there's no produce or bakery Qs Frown

Once the stockpile is built up I don't find it too hard to keep it maintained. So it takes a pretty good deal or MM to really get me in there....
totally agree! that's where I'm at for most things. i worked very very very hard at it for the first half of the year. now there are just a few things for which i am not stockpiled (copper scrubby thingies - godsend! fragrance free nontoxic laundry detergent/sheets; some other things i can't think of off the bat. but i'll get there eventually)

I have never made coffee before, except at a hotel, and I still can't (I forgot filters), it is to late right now, but still. Someday soon I will make some coffee at home for the very first time Stick Out Tongue bounce Roll
I hope Starbucks is good, I got vanilla, caramel, and pikes peak I think.
Oh no, it is 1 am no wonder I am rambling and can't think straight. Sleepy2
making coffee is no different than making tea with loose tea leaves. you can do it just fine without filters.
just heat up water in a kettle, so that it is at a slow boil, but not a rolling boil or a full boil.
add coffee. turn off stove and let steep for about 2 minutes.

use a mesh strainer ... place over cup and pour coffee through it. done.

or if you have cheesecloth, you could just put coffee grounds in that, making a little pouch and steep that bundle in the water pot.

or if you have the empty paper tea bags (the ones you use for loose tea), you could put grounds in that.

point is, to all the unfancy ones, you don't need a coffee maker. matter of fact, get yourself a french press for a few bucks and you'll have amazing coffee in minutes - no electricity needed, no filters needed, no kcups needed, no garbage created.

On another note, we are putting up our Christmas tree tonight. We got lights for it and we have about 12 ornaments. So I will be on the lookout for some nice/cheap ones.
...
dollar tree has boxes of 12 ornaments each for a buck. they look just fine. the silver one for example has silver ornaments in 3 different styles - glossy, frosted and one other. similarly there's red, green, gold boxes. they also have boxes of smaller 24 ornaments. also a buck.

T has a coupon for $5 off a box of 48.

many ornaments go on special sale at T on the 23rd/24th. clearance on the 26th.

you could always get your plain ones now... for cheap, then on 26th look for some patterned ones on clearance and come home and add to the tree. it will still be beautiful till new years.

dollar tree also has great ornament making supplies -- glitter foam sheets 12pk, felt 8ok, foam snowflakes, glittered foam snowflakes etc -- in case you guys want to do stuff together with the kids.

i also like getting small picture frames (T's good for this) and hangin from tree with ribbon. you could put sayings in them. or family pictures. or lyrics from carols. print them in a nice font on cream paper, cut out and voila!

we pick pine cones every fall. if you have any, you could paint with kids (gold, silver or a glitter flecked white) and hang with ribbon, too. those look lovely.

Quote from bunnies46 :
I have a question for you all. If you have a wireless printer can you print coupons from your phone?
well if it is a smartphone and therefore can make wifi connections, you would likely be able to see the printer. but the phone has to be able to process the printer drivers. which would be complex for most phones/most phones aren't set up to do that. windows phones might be able to do that. not sure about android or iphone though.

however, if you have a phone with bluetooth capability and a printer with bluetooth capability, they can connect over the bluetooth connection. so that solves that problem.

then comes the next issue - can the phone process bricks software or smartsource java or ecentives... again most phones won't be able to. i suspect you could on windows phones.

which takes me back to my initial thought - if you have a windows smartphone, and a newish HP printer, likely.

Quote from gt6mk31 :
Hmmm, this will require further investigation. I have an old HP printer and still have a few ink cartridges. I got a new Brother wireless, wifi, whatever, and hate that damn paper jamming HP so I stuck it in a box.
don't bother until you figure out whether it is wifi/bluetooth enabled and how old it is. rather old ones won't be of much use.

Yes. They carry the currants & acai reed diffusers in all of my stores. One store also carries the clean cotton scent. Very limited selection. $6.99 each.

All of them laugh out loud

Let's start with the ones I don't like Smilie: Emeril's Big Easy Bold (very bitter to me).....ummmm I think that's it.

Really like that one I linked you to --- Coffee People Donut Shop. Also love: Gloria Jean's Butter Toffee, Gloria Jean's Hazelnut, Newman's Own (all of them), Tully's Kona, and the Cafe Escapes Dark Chocolate hot cocoa.

There are some that are just OK but I still like them on a reg. basis....and then there are some I haven't tried altogether. BUT it really depends how you like your coffee to begin with. I didn't start drinking coffee until a couple years ago, and I think I put more creamer in it than coffee Teehee Now, post-Keurig, I can't stand coffee from a regular brewer because it tastes like coffee-flavored water to me.......way too weak....have tried it multiple times from multiple places and vomit so I like my coffee bold and strong.

Pretty sure there is at least one person here who likes pretty much the exact opposite of what I do if I remember right! Gloria Jean's Butter Toffee with either Italian Sweet Cream or Vanilla Caramel Cream creamer is my ABSOLUTE favorite yummy coffee treat Smilie

I have a lot of relatives who like French Press coffee....I hear it is superb and need to try it some time!!!

Seems to me that they've regularly sold various brands over in the candle aisle too....but have not checked lately. I can't believe they don't still have quite a few in store as they are pretty popular.

nod That's a very good deal too....and there is a way to do it more than once but I can't remember how --- probably in that thread somewhere!

Meesh!!! You have to try these things! I swear people ask me if I whiten my teeth or how I got my teeth so white. I only whitened my teeth once when the CWS very first came out. After Qs they are only like $3 (but then you have tax). Also I used to HATE getting my teeth cleaned because they are so sensitive that it would hurt when they scraped them and hurt for a few hours after. All my appts this year they have barely had to scrape at all, they are like WOW you have clean teeth! Keep doing what your doing!

I am using Listerine pre brush whitening rinse, then Sonicare, then floss, then maybe 3 times a week rinse with the purple Listerine. Sorry I don't remember when the TPC ends but one store was out so I grabbed some raincheck tags, can those be scanned at another store? I can see if I can get a raincheck scanned I keep forgetting, after my runs I am always wiped out and thinking STC! STC! Get me outta here. lol

Plus the sonicare just makes my teeth feel so much more clean and smooth than any other toothbrush I ever had.
completely agree. It boggles my friends that I drink coffee, tea, soda, etc. all the time and my teeth are sparkly white. They keep asking how often I use strips, but I don't! Just use my sonicare Big Grin

Sorry about the bug run :hug I hear ya on the packed store and parking lots. I should've stayed away when I saw that the secondary parking lot at T was full last night. I did make out STFC but it took forever to get through the store...I did have several Rx to pick up with the RX TQ Wink

Yep! My SS is getting a reused box. I even gave a couple people reused gift bags. One of my pet peeves is greeting cards and gift bags. Such a racket IMO. My in-laws heart greeting cards. They will send one for every small, and even insignificant event. Then, they are offended when you don't keep all of the cards on display on the mantle. It drives me nuts.

Crylol I used to do this All.The.Time. with the USPS Tyvek envelopes. one cashier at the post office got really pissed and wanted me to open the package I was mailing to prove it wasn't the USPS envie. I told her I would be back later and then used the self-serve kiosk Evil

Is that a good deal? Never did the B.A.B. and the one store around here went out of business.

Tootsie: how was the birthday and party bus? Did you take full advantage of having a designated driver? I would've been one drunk shenanigizer! Roll

We are getting a crapload of snow right now...hope we can get outside to make a snowman today :
It was insane and for sure a once in a lifetime thing!!! yikers! LOL. We had ddrivers lined up left and right. Many women piled into minivans at 3am Wink

Did you make a snowman today (or did the boys)? Pics please.

It snowed today, but was a very dry snow. Colder than a well digger though, once you factor in the howling wind.

I don't know how much we got. a lot, though. The blowing and drifting makes it hard to tell, but there is nowhere in my yard with less than a foot. Looking around the neighborhood, I'm guessing we definitely got the 10" - 12".

For the majority of last night, we couldn't even see the neighbor's houses. The only one we could tell was there is the one directly across from us and only because they had white icicle lights lit.

The winds shredded another neighbor's flag. It was fine before the storm. I have some damage to Christmas stuff but nothing that can't be fixed -- we think. Some poles on my blimp bent (expected). If I would have thought, I would have un-anchored it and laid it down. My hot air balloon (suspended from a tree) was fine when I went to bed -- not so fine this morning. Can't do anything today. The winds are still pretty bad and our chill factors are ~ 35 below. On the up side, we have a brand new shiny snow blower that is going to get a work out.

All the roads in this area of the state are either still closed or travel is not recommended. I think the no tow order is still in effect. Obviously, I am not going to make the (60 miles one way) trip to Target today. They damn well better not sell out of iPods. I really hope they get stuff cleared and the winds die down so I can go tomorrow morning.

laugh out loud Well, that was amusing. I just looked up and out the window to see my husband bust through a 4 - 5' drift with his big work truck. This is getting more amusing by the minute -- he is now standing on the running boards parking his truck cuz he can't see out the windows. The bright orange hat is just sexy now!LMAO

Jusat read on naother board on the ipod deal t shenanoigans.. that the 10% off q is applied AFTER the 50 gc amt ,

Apple iPod - $295.00
Gift Card - $50.00
Package total: $345.00
Target Coupon: - $24.50 (should be $29.50)
Gift Card Free: - $50.00

Package Total: $270.50
Red Card Savings - 10.26 (should be $13.53 - for the WRONG total above)

Not huge , but interesting... according to this person manager wouldn't fix it. Confused

Just a heads up
