To add to this discussion, you can also buy the $25 or $50 Amazon Kindle GCs (back in electronics above the Kindles), with no activation fees, and it just adds it to your account as if it were a regular Amazon GC. Wink

I talked to our pricing team lead today, asking her when luggage may go down again (going to the Bahamas in 16 days and counting), and she said that Corp has been changing the normal pricing line-up around, for example, this week, Boys, Girls, & Infants went on Tues, instead of Monday. So don't give up hope if your item wasn't marked on that day, it may go another day.

First, that was not long at all!! It was perfect.
Second - THANK YOU! That looks like something I could totally do, and I *think* I might be able to talk DH into doing it too. It seems much more natural to my schedule/life.

They sell Visa/Amex GC's that can be used at appliance stores. Wink
I had a dear friend call right as I was going to head out the door. She needed lots of Comfort today, so we spent all day just hanging out and yammering.

Never fear, GG, you are not alone. I am wearing a long dingy used to be off white nightgown with blue flowers and gray, err, I mean pink footies. Somewhere along the line, I put on panties. Then my legs got cold from crawling around on the floor scrubbing the kitchen cabinets so I put on a pair of gray flannel pants -- with dogs and snow flakes on them. That were on the floor in a dirty pile to be washed. And things are on the loose here too.

I think we should have a sing-a-long... Everybody now

Dooooo your b(.)(.)bs hang low, do they wobble to and fro...
Haha, I have sang that same song before as well laugh out loud

Meant to mention this earlier, especially for those of you low carbing. Target has Tyson Grilled and Ready meat strips on sale for $2.50 and there is $1 coupon (01-02-11 SS). They are 6 oz. packages. There are a few different ones -- strips and cubes, beef and chicken.

I was going to say not a great way to buy meat, but actually that's under $4.50/lb. and with the price of meat lately... Anyway, handy to have around to put in salads, etc. for the dieters.

I searched and searched for an expiration on them and finally found where it said 5 days after purchasing. That's helpful. I put them in the freezer and figured I would just get it out as I use it.

We got a little snow last night, around an inch, I think. Winds are really getting nasty. In town, visibility is down to about a block. Yuck. Don't know what it's like out of town.
I am very interested.. how do they taste?

I'm fixing to try making my own, with my little bitty George Foreman grill. Publix had skinless/boneless chicken breasts for $1.99/lb today. I also had a Earth Fare Q (competitor) for a free lb of chicken. I've got two pkgs of chicken in Dale's seasoning in a large ziploc right now, hoping to start a production line here in a bit. Grill the chicken, let it cool some, slice into strips and then once cool, bag them in individual ziplocs and put the ziplocs in a larger freezer bag.

When our refrigerator went out at work, it was not replaced, so taking my lunch has become a challenge for me. Hoping this will help, as I can add it to bagged salad (L2BaM, I'm listening) and call it lunch.
Great job on the healthy eating! Sounds like you have a great plan!
Now, are you listening for me to say something in particular? Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Quote from dpags :
*SNIP* (some parts)

TN - I used to do a Mike Thurman diet (which works WONDERFULLY) and the recommended serving size was either 3 or 4 oz. of chicken or other lean meat per meal - with 5-6 meals per day, 3 hours apart. The 6th meal is optional depending on how many hours you're awake. The meal plan works like this for anyone who is interested:

You will NOT feel hungry at all once you've been doing this for a couple of days. But you WILL start feeling hungry about 1/2 hr before it's time to eat. Your body will become a metabolic machine - no fads here - just a constantly running engine, just like it's meant to be!! Ideally you should work out for at least 45 mins, 5 days per week, but this meal plan will cause you to lose weight whether you work out or not. It just kick starts your metabolism.

I used to do exactly what you did, pre-cook meals, measure, baggy, freezer/fridge. Prepare lunches in advance and it was like a miracle - I lost everything I wanted to lose and more. Sadly, between going back to school for my Masters and getting a hysterectomy I've gained most of it back (it took over 5 years to gain it back though). My weight has finally leveled off after the surgery (it takes 18-24 months) and now I'm ready to start back on this plan. I'll be cooking this weekend!!
L!
That looks like a very good plan.. Low in carbs and they are all good carbs for ya!

I totally agree with alot of that.. I lost 150 pounds in 2003 and kept it off for several years (until preg #4 and #5).. and I didn't eat every 3 hours.. but, I had a very strict rule that I had to eat something atleast every 5 hours or so.. If you go longer than that, it slows your metabolism.. Frequent small meals are best. I try to have some protein with each meal as well..

And now that I am back on low carb, one thing I love most is the fact that I don't get hungry.. Something about the way your metabolism works and the suppression of my appetite, and I really don't crave sweets either..

Good luck getting back on track!!

I have given up on the Keurig and have been thinking about other things we need. I did get our son a new booster seat. I got a couple of toys for next Christmas. I wish Target sold appliances.

I have a question. Can you buy a Visa gift card using a Target gift card?

And where is everybody tonight? I get a chance to hop on..and the place is deserted.
Bunnies calls and everyone comes a running. Smilie

Smilie Is it just decaf coffee, or does it have a special flavor to it??

I had a little maxwell house with bailey's earlier. Now I'm having some coke with a little too much rum.

Did I mention that Mavis now rolled from her belly onto her back?

Sadwalk

I'm gonna have to get pregnant again soon if I want a baby much longer. Frown She's getting too big already.

nope.
sloppiness needs company.
i've been in oversized loose-waisted pajamas and super big tees since the accident cos i can't get stuff off and on without help and pain. no bra.
and now i've taken to answering the door like this... LMAO

monday it was the post man bringing me a certified letter and got to see me in all my booby twatwaffle glory.
then couple of days back it was the maintenance man doing a welfare check on me.
then today it was the fedex guy. his eyes grew all wide as he brought me the box. i later looked at myself in the mirror and realized the white ribbed tshirt i am wearing is just a small bit on the transparent side (just a wee bit, but enough for him to witness circles EEK! ). :lol

what can i say? i'm a booby twatwaffle. with frizzy hair. and a hot water bag in hand. a major limp and a grimace. hopefully that will thwart the pervs.

so what i'm saying gt, is keep me company in the land of the floppy, the home of the unrestrained. LMAO

thanks all of you for your kind words and prayers earlier. a week after ax when i went to my doc for follow up he gave me a month's worth of meds and said get back in touch after 3-4 weeks, anticipating that much pain. it's been 2 weeks since that appointment, so I figure I got a ways to go yet.
have prescription strength anti-inflammatory, OTC pain meds and prescription muscle relaxants, plus 2 homeopathic remedies. but i'm beginning to see there's a reason they all wanted to prescribe narcotics. which i can't take.

slow and steady, slow and steady, right? i'll get better. soon enough. till then i get to appreciate the value of being healthy and whole.

take care of yourselves, you guys. and be ultra vigilant on the roads. too many loonies flying about.

hug

I just spit my coffeee all over my computer screen.....
At least it's from my keurig ,so it's fancy coffee.

hug Hope you feel better sooner rather than later

Not especially. You've posted about using bagged salad in the past.

I just wanted you to know you are in inspiration in weight loss.

I'll never be thin. Weighed 142 lbs in the 3rd grade, so I've always been as wide as I am tall for as long as I can remember. Falling thru the floor in 2003 and hurting my knee has added another 60 or so lbs to me over the past 7 years. I gotta do something. . . I don't want my SIL joining SD just to tell you I'm not here on earth anymore.

Your body may not be meant to be "thin" and that's ok. It shouldn't be painful though. Hug2

hug Now that would definitely be heartbreaking.
I think that many of us on here are trying to lose weight so hopefully we can be a good support for one another. I go for my first WW weigh-in tomorrow. Today has been tough as far as eating goes, so I hope it goes well! Wish me luck! I hope to goodness I am at least down a pound.

Wave Howdy all. Just popping in to say hi. You know what I hate... when people in deals post all about the deals they've found at their store but leave you with NO FARKING WAY of knowing where on earth they are located.

Ok... that's my rant for this evening.
