I would think so.
I know Thrifteh used to feel this way. . . and it was her wisdom Bowdown that made me understand why I only wanted to use GCs or cash (as in green money) there when I shop.

I KNOW that Kroger tracks what you buy with the card that you must use to shop with, because if you ever get a mailer from Kroger, it's based on what you buy (my SILs always has cheese, cat food and angel soft Qs in it, because she buys them almost every time she's in the store). Dumpster diving at apartments shows who is the fresh produce eater versus the convenience food eater.

Harris Teeter does this, but more noticable (at least it is to me) because they send you an email every week with the weekly ad and then tailor "your specials" to what your card has bought. When my SIL uses my card (to get another 20 Qs doubled) I can normally guess what she bought, as the "your specials" changes drastically from what I buy. Note that HT is over 90 miles from my house, but I signed up, because by chance, I was in Nashville one week they were doing triple coupons. My SIL knows when I'm gonna use my card and when I'm not because of the long drive.

Woke up with an ocular migraine.

Now folks, I luv ya and all, but it seems like over the past month ya'll have been sharing your sickie germs and headaches with us and while I'm all for sharing with your friends and stuff - well, there are a few things ya'll can keep!! laugh out loud

Seriously, though... what a morning.

It's snowing again. I was supposed to go shopping!!! UGH. I may just have to brave it after all. I hate the idea of dragging the kids out in this mess.

Quote from gatorcater :
We are all in Florida now, which is nice.
Glad ya'll made it relatively safe and sound. Smilie Will be praying for great results on the bar exam!

that is tcc and you are officially now a part of this alien world. Muahaha
You just don't know what you're getting yourself into...

Thanks for the welcome! I've been reading fairly faithfully for months, but as I don't have kids, a Keurig, and only shop on weekends, I tend to keep my trap shut. Also because I work at night and sleep during the day, so there's not much going on here in the early AM. I come here because it's more entertaining than reading the deals thread, and far more than what goes on in my life. Not complaining, though. I just have a boring, fairly uneventful life, and must live through all of you. On second thought, that sounds pretty pathetic. But, I need something to do whilst my 28 year old dh plays online video games.

Time for more pics. Ank..you too!
But I JUST posted some like 2 days ago!

Our dog is like that when it's cold or raining. We have to drag her out of the house.

Thanks for the info on the TLC shows. Smilie We started watching Toddlers & Tiaras. EEK! Crazy stuff man...

Sometimes I get jealous of the folks that have $1 doubles, but I have to remember that there are places that don't double at all - at least we get .50 doubles!

Ellen had Coupon Diva Joyce House (the nurse from Philly) on. Hollygolightly posted a link to the clip here if you want to watch it. It was a short (about 5 min), light hearted segment.

She showed pics of her stockpiles, and they actually looked "normal", although Ellen did joke a little about her being a hoarder. She donates a lot and just keeps what she needs. She tried to explain how to match the coupons to the sale price to get stuff for "free" - but she lives in the land of doubles, so it's a lot easier to do. Oh, how I wish I lived in the land of doubles!!!
Thanks for that - I actually really enjoyed that lady, and feel she shows the positive side of couponing/stockpiling. And I am envious of the $1 doubles all the time. HT does it, but infrequently, and the free deals seem to be few and far between anymore.

Extreme couponers?!? bounce bounce Cuz I might have to subscribe if that was the case!
No, not the Extreme Couponers. Several different cleaning/organizing shows, Toddlers & Tiaras, more seasons of Say Yes to the Dress.

Target most definitely can track purchases made with credit/debit cards, and not just their own. Not necessarily that they do, but the information is stored when you use that card, and they can pull it up at will. Several years ago, when the T registers were super loosey-goosey, there was more than one story of TCC'ers/Deals thread regulars who got pulled aside after a transaction and had their entire history of purchases displayed before them. Faint If they wanted to, and if you showed a pattern of behavior they found suspicious, they certainly have the wherewithal to investigate you and your history of spending at their store.

I also use cash only at HT, because people have reported their Vic cards being linked due to using the same debit/credit card.

Oh man. This test is for his CCNA certification, and apparently its the Big Daddy of them all. At least of certifications he's taken so far. I know pretty much zero of anything to do with any of it, so my help will mainly be in "encouraging". He thinks he figured out the glitch that was keeping him from logging into his work from home, so hopefully, he will be able to start watching the videos that are on his work's network. He had gotten almost all the way through the videos, but for whatever reason, he feels he needs to start all over again. Dontknow

Hoping to get to T tonight, see if any of the toys are left.

It was great. I wish those Lego sets had been marked down. What do you guys think? Next week? I might need to work on a little "relocation" project for a few of them.

I NEVER pay with my CC or any other device they can use to track me. In fact, I meant to ask you guys about something that happened last month. I ran in just to get cold medicine for DS and used my usual GC that I use for everything. Well... evidently I had picked out the good cold medicine because they needed my ID. Now I'm all paranoid that my ID is tied to that GC. I think I might need to transfer some $$ to another GC and start using a new one. look around

CCNA wise, the electronic networks are changing so rapidly, I can see why he wants to rewatch possibly updated videos.

The Army threw out valid, two year certificates this past year, in that it used to be when you passed X, it was good for two years. Now, the certificate (per the Army) is worthless and you have three other certifications to do. Has been very expensive for both labor to study and companies to pay to take the test, as the Army isn't allowed to pay for the test itself.

Look at it this way flugette, if and when he does get his CCNA, he should never have a problem finding a job in the area that you live in.

If you are talking about T tracking purchases, yes most definitely, 100% they can do that if you used a CC or DC..I am not sure of the legal aspects and how they do it but I have learned from my seniors that they can...Always GC or cash....

How was the toy clearance M2C...Anything interesting...I bought nyquil and they used my ID..i never thought about ID being tied to a GC...Hmmm..but here is what I do...I have a GC with a certain amount that is my spare card..i try not to use it...And the rest of the amount I keep on a different card that I keep changing.....

I am so paranoid about my GC, DH thinks I am Crazy...If we are in a store and I ask DH to do a run, the first thing I ask him is to return the GC...

Okay, you guys have been very talkative this morning.. I was going to multiquote, but it would have just been so long! I will just go from memory laugh out loud which isn't as good as it used to be!

Bunnies - hope your day is better today!

Ank - sorry about the migraine.. Those really stink!

Gator - glad you made it to Florida.. sorry about losing the stuff. Hope you get settled soon!

TN - Hope your cold/sickness leaves you soon so you can get some decent rest!

Teri - So awesome that you are there to help your DD with the baby! I know how much I wished for some help when mine were little and woke up all the time. Enjoy that time with your precious grandbaby! Praying for your daughter's appointment today hug

ON the frozen milk talk, I have frozen it tons of times.. I used to freeze the horizon organic milk when my DD was about 1 and she drank alot of milk. I would grab it when they marked it down and buy every carton. She never seemed to mind. I don't take any of it out. Just stick it in the freezer just like it is.. I do let it slow thaw as Gator mentioned, in the fridge. It takes several days, and I shake it up every now and then because it will be seperated as it thaws.. I can't personally attest to the taste because I don't drink milk.. But, the kids drink it and eat it with cereal and no one has complained. It looks fine when I pour it, but like I say, I do shake it up. And for me, it seems to last quite awhile once thawed. It will usually be good atleast a week after completely thawing. HTH!

On the redcard thing - I too have heard that they can easily track purchases and keep a purchase history thing.. I still have a redcard.. I use it sometimes, and use GC/cash other times.. Just depends on what I am shopping for Wink

Welcome to all the new folks! Stay around and contribute some stories about coffee, poop, target, etc.

I want to go to target to check out the toy clearance, but am thinking of skipping it this time. We still have so much in the attic, and I really don't NEED to buy anything right now.. Not to mention, I haven't worked in 2 weeks now. The last 2 times I have been scheduled, they have called me off because we weren't busy at work.. No working means no paycheck! I was stressing about it last night, but I am just trying to have faith that things will work out!

Teri, P&PT are with you and your family! hug

Poop story of the day - DS is still working on PT. He had a poop accident in his underwear the other day, so I put him in the tub to clean it up. Last night he had another and didn't want to tell me, so he helpfully jumped in the tub by himself and took his undies off. And then got distracted by the painting potential of it all.

I came upstairs to check on him only to find Picasso-in-poop all over my bathroom wall. Mad
Better it be in the bathroom than the kitchen... I cam home from work one night about 30 years ago and found my 2 year old DD had painted the the entire kitchen floor, the tray of her highchair (which I sure she had been left in it to entertain herself while her dad was entertaining himself with pong or what ever 1st generation game was available at the time - I degress) and had started on the front of the refrigerator because I suppose it was a blank canvas as well. I was SOOO angry with my EX!!! I would have loved to rub his nose in the poo. And there she sat, happy as a lark, smiling from ear to ear - proud of her work, covered in poo.
