Great Aunt tn_native (who's never been around babies before) needs to know what Johnson and Johnson product you used MOST when you had a baby, baby wash, baby shampoo, baby lotion, baby powder.
1 - Body Wash/Shampoo - used them interchangeably until girls hair got long and think.
2 - Lotion - lots with newborns, then as they get older after baths or winter.
3 - Powder - that's for mom and the heavy nursing sweaty b(,)(,)bs! Big Grin
4 - Butt paste (aka diaper rash cream) - make sure to get the kind without alcohol or it burns their cute little bums.
5 - Soap wrapped in mesh (not sure what called) - love this cuz it doesn't slip out of your hand when washing and as they get older they can do it themselves. Whenever there is a J&J $1 MFQ, you can stock up on these cuz they are anywhere from $.97 - $1.02. (I have, UM, a few of these...) Wink

I love mine. The one I got was an online return at target, never opened. I assume a wedding gift or something. The manager didn't know what to charge me so he saw a Mr. Coffee machine and said "is 30 bucks okay?" Well, hell yea!
Sweet deal!!

Okay all this Kuerig talk is getting to me. I don't drink coffee, but I drink hot chocolate or hot spiced cider almost every night. Would this work for me? Obviously, I have no clue and have done no investigating... Please don't Smack me! Wink

No basement, so I'm safe there. Definitely not in the trash. I'm thinking he must've put them up high somewhere (he's taller than me), so I'm not seeing them. Ah well... I'll just print in the AM.

Was there a preview of next weeks ad posted yet?

I've heard that it's a yes for the hot chocolate. Someone recently said they'd brewed tea in it by just plopping in some tea bags.

I have recently "gotten into" tea. I should really try this. I would love to start using loose leaf tea, but I have no clue how to make it. LMAO
The chai tea at Teavana in the mall is to die for!

There are these little metal ball thingys that you put the looseleaf tea into, then steep like a tea bag. I believe you can also buy the little tea bag things too. I sometimes get bulk oolong tea and make it in my coffee pot like you would coffee. Hide

So...sorry to sound like a dork...but you just heat up your water and then put the little metal ball thing with your tea in the cup? I wanted to ask the people at Teavana but I was a tad embarassed lol.

The night time baby bath is very nice. They didn't have that when my son was little. I am not sure about using it most though. Lots of people stay away from the talcum powder now, but Johnson's has a cornstarch powder.

shake head

close though.

put tea in infuser. put infuser in pot of water. steep for a few minutes or more depending on how strong you like your tea. or use the disposable tea sacks. i prefer those.

for good teas, like good jasmine tea, or high quality green tea etc, in fact for most teas, you don't want to make the tea water hyper hot. overheated water breaks down some of the natural chemicals in the leaves that give the tea its flavors and fragrances. use water that is just a tad warmer than drinkably hot. that way you account for water cooling while the tea is steeping.

if you don't have an infuser ball, don't worry. you can do without. you can just put the loose leaf tea in a deep stainless pot of hot water. once steeped, just strain with a mesh strainer. the infuser is the modern version of a strainer, to prevent messes and save time. and it sure does. Big Grin

if you have a whole foods store near you, keep your eyes out: they have some great tea sales. you just have to peruse the aisles cos not all sales are advertised.

also be on the watch out on amazon. some great teas go on sale there. a company called rishi markets some fabulous teas from around the world. their tea is of very high quality including some astounding varieties of green tea. they come in teas. normally rather pricey. but amazon frequently has great deals.

enjoy!

maybe I will try it again and it will be better.. I didn't like the butter toffee on my first taste, but now I do.

And yeah, last time I ordered it was much quicker!
Maybe we should start a K-Cup train. We all get the ones we dont like put em in a flat rate box ship to the next person, they take some to try and add some for the next in line.

Sounds fun, but probibly more expensive than just buying them all.

Well, If you want to be fancy, it is great for Hot Cocoa but, It would be an expensuve cup! at least $60 to get the machine on an SD, then about .50c - .90c a cup. I would just stick with my .01c packets of swiss miss. IMO

Okay, I can answer this too.. Cause in addition to 3 years in recovery, 8 years in critical care, I also did 7 years in OB/maternity.. It does seem cruel, and I have been on the receiving end as well, so I know it isn't fun.. but it is necessary.. Whether you deliver vaginally or csection, your uterus still needs to be checked frequently after delivery and massaged as necessary. The massage is needed to control bleeding sometimes.. A non firm uterus can lead to excess bleeding, so we need to massage it to keep it contracting and firm. Ideally, it is best to do it with some kind of pain medicine on board, but sometimes it isn't possible.. And usually, even if you have had pain medicine, it still hurts on the fresh incision areahug

*snip*
I totally knew they would have to do all of the massaging....just was NOT expecting it as I was coming out of the anesthesia!! And it did not last long because the pain was so intense that I immediately nearly sat up and started pushing/smacking all of the nurses or whoever was doing it away (not out of intentional meanness, out of shear reaction to the intense pain.) That worked to get them to stop though laugh out loud As soon as they got the pain meds in it hurt but was bearable.

Hide

I probably would have been one of those patients you would have hated to have to deal with laugh out loud Thanks for the insight....I have always wondered if this was 'normal' or if I just got unlucky!

Quote from jteef1 :
Was nice reading the playful chat. I swear I need to stop shopping - and stay away from people or something. I am getting to where I have a very short fuse when people start snipping at me. I can't stand people talking down to me, and I can't stand people giving me BS. And somedays that just seems par for the course in "customer service..."

I do think the older I get the less BS I want to put up with. Good thing I have a stockpile - so I don't HAVE to shop right now...
Teehee Me too. I have a very low BS tolerance. I can spot it easily....that and lying. I can always tell when someone is lying to me. It is almost eerily weird, I dunno. Completely understand.....and I'm 26 so if it gets worse with age I'm doomed!
