2 - Lotion - lots with newborns, then as they get older after baths or winter.
3 - Powder - that's for mom and the heavy nursing sweaty b(,)(,)bs!
4 - Butt paste (aka diaper rash cream) - make sure to get the kind without alcohol or it burns their cute little bums.
5 - Soap wrapped in mesh (not sure what called) - love this cuz it doesn't slip out of your hand when washing and as they get older they can do it themselves. Whenever there is a J&J $1 MFQ, you can stock up on these cuz they are anywhere from $.97 - $1.02. (I have, UM, a few of these...)

I have recently "gotten into" tea. I should really try this. I would love to start using loose leaf tea, but I have no clue how to make it.

So...sorry to sound like a dork...but you just heat up your water and then put the little metal ball thing with your tea in the cup? I wanted to ask the people at Teavana but I was a tad embarassed lol.

put tea in infuser. put infuser in pot of water. steep for a few minutes or more depending on how strong you like your tea. or use the disposable tea sacks. i prefer those.
for good teas, like good jasmine tea, or high quality green tea etc, in fact for most teas, you don't want to make the tea water hyper hot. overheated water breaks down some of the natural chemicals in the leaves that give the tea its flavors and fragrances. use water that is just a tad warmer than drinkably hot. that way you account for water cooling while the tea is steeping.
if you don't have an infuser ball, don't worry. you can do without. you can just put the loose leaf tea in a deep stainless pot of hot water. once steeped, just strain with a mesh strainer. the infuser is the modern version of a strainer, to prevent messes and save time. and it sure does.
if you have a whole foods store near you, keep your eyes out: they have some great tea sales. you just have to peruse the aisles cos not all sales are advertised.
also be on the watch out on amazon. some great teas go on sale there. a company called rishi markets some fabulous teas from around the world. their tea is of very high quality including some astounding varieties of green tea. they come in teas. normally rather pricey. but amazon frequently has great deals.

Okay, I can answer this too.. Cause in addition to 3 years in recovery, 8 years in critical care, I also did 7 years in OB/maternity.. It does seem cruel, and I have been on the receiving end as well, so I know it isn't fun.. but it is necessary.. Whether you deliver vaginally or csection, your uterus still needs to be checked frequently after delivery and massaged as necessary. The massage is needed to control bleeding sometimes.. A non firm uterus can lead to excess bleeding, so we need to massage it to keep it contracting and firm. Ideally, it is best to do it with some kind of pain medicine on board, but sometimes it isn't possible.. And usually, even if you have had pain medicine, it still hurts on the fresh incision area

I do think the older I get the less BS I want to put up with. Good thing I have a stockpile - so I don't HAVE to shop right now...
